A Day at Desert Botanical Gardens with a New Friend!

When I started this blog over a year ago,  the first thought that came to my mind was my Dad.

Dad was a hobby printer and he would set type and publish small articles. Then Dad bought a computer.  His world changed for his monthly newsletter called “TidBits.”    Word publishing was a cinch now on that computer!  Sure he still set type  but boy did he love that computer!

My siblings and I have all said…If he were alive today he would be blogging and his “TidBits” would be all over WordPress!

The second thought that came to my mind when My Blog began…

was how Blogging is a community… all of it’s own.

A virtual community. We are all here to support each other. And sometimes we get an extra treat to meet our virtual friends. I have had that opportunity!

Ingrid from Live Laugh Rv  and I first met for Coffee. We  hit it off and we chatted on and on!  Then we got together another time at The Desert Botanical Gardens.

  1. Wonderful post. Loved the tale of your dad and son. Special times and speaking of special times, I had a great time spending the day together at the Botanical Garden. I look forward to more get togethers and photo outings 🙂

    1. Thank You My Mentor and most of all My Friend! It was fun to put together! Oh yes, we will be ready for more fun anytime!

    1. A fun day was had! But best of all… through this little ole blog I have made so many friends. Now I want to meet them all. Including YOU! 🙂

  2. Nancy that’s just how I feel. Blogging has brought so many new friends. How fun for you and Ingrid to get together. Such gorgeous photos. I am smiling thinking of your Dad who was ahead of his time. I imagine he would be loving the blogging world as you do. 🙂

    1. Yes… we did! I had seen Chihuly at Bellagio in Las Vegas but that was it. Seeing Chihuly at The Desert Botanical Gardens was FABULOUS!

      1. Isn’t it incredible! I love his work at the Bellagio and lived the display here last year! I seen a similar display as we had in Columbus Ohio a few years back and then we came across a “permanent” display in Seattle at the Seattle Center next to the Space Needle….it is HUGE….it is a little pricey to go thru it, but so worth it…gardens and a large building and solarium filled with his work! If you ever go up to Seattle its a must see!!!

      2. Thank You… I just might as we are thinking of a cruise to Alaska out of Seattle. How about that?? Thank You for the great info!

      3. Perfect!!! All the cruise ships leave from downtown and you just take the monorail over to the Seattle Center from downtown!

  3. What a wonderful post! It’s funny you’re telling this story, as I recently found out I’ll likely be in the Phoenix area for a wedding this fall. I’d thought I might contact you. It was that post about wine and cheese that planted the seed. 🙂

    1. Well, let’s make it happen! Hopefully you will have time to slip away before the wedding festivities. The seeds have been planted… 🙂

      1. I’ve got a lot of virtual friends this way, and also met some Bloggers in person and have become good friends with them – like you and Ingrid.

      2. Yay!

I have to tell you. Ingrid is a phenomenal photographer as you already know. (You and I became friends through her blog.) She has given me lots of pointers about photography and blogging!
