March Brings Green and Gold

Hello Everyone.

Happy March!

Last month I showed you lots of red! You can see that here.

So I figured I should show you some GREEN in this post.

The Sonoran Desert has had quite a bit of rain.

As a result we have a very green desert!

Many of our washes that are usually bone dry are flowing.

These adorable wild donkeys must be enjoying the lush desert landscape. Do you think they are twins?

Oh, and the wildflowers are in full force! I did mention I was going to show you the gold as well.

  1. Great photos. I especially like the arch with the cactus. Lots of pretty wildflowers. We are starting to get some crocus and blooms on a pear tree. Other that the black bamboo, which stays green all year even through hard frost, everything is still dry, brown and gray around here.

    1. I have been thinking of you Tim and hope you are feeling well. I thank you for your kind words. And that Arch was a beauty! Quite unexpected when we were out driving the back roads of Arizona. Hope Spring comes soon for you!

      1. Spring is thinking about springing. We had nice warm weather this weekend.

  2. Lovely photos as usual Nancy. Great to hear from you and it must be lovely to see the desert green. We are about to cool down (down) here and not before time either. Summer has been rather hot this year. I’m looking forward to cooler nights and brisk mornings.

    1. Hello to You! I hope you are doing well. Thank you so much for popping over here. It means so much!
The wildflowers are blooming in an extraordinary way here in the southwest!

  3. I am loving the flowers this year. I’m actually going to walk to the sand dunes this morning, one of my favorite spots.

    1. Those dunes were the first time we saw them. We also were thrilled to see so many …very green Ocotillos.
Enjoy your walk and I hope to come see your beautiful photos more often. You have not lost your eye for finding beauty! Have a wonderful day. Hugs!

    1. We thought the same about the donkeys! We are enjoying the desert very much in all it’s lushness! So good to hear from you! I need to stop by and see if you have posted. Hope all is well. Hugs!

  4. Oh my gosh! I cannot believe the beauty of the lush desert. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen her this green. Spectacular!

    1. Thank You! Hope all is well with you both and your parents! Keep on Rockin’ the fabulous science posts! I enjoy them.

  5. The desert is much greener up your way. We watched all the rain stay to the west of Tucson and just pound on the Phoenix area. We are green but nothing like your area. The rain certainly made the desert beautiful for spring:)

    1. It’s truly AMAZING! we have never seen it this way. Love it!

Glad to see you are doing well. And I still love seeing “Lunch With a View!”

    1. Me tooooooo! That natural arch was a find!
