Since we live in the desert I decided we needed cactus painted wine glasses. My friend in Pennsylvania gave me some but they are at the LakeHouse… So I took matters in my own hands!
I painted some!
I think they turned out pretty good!
I added a table setting around them…
They will always be special because I painted them!

Very cool! Your tablescape looks so festive! {IF} I ever attempt such a thing, what kind of paint should I use? And what do you have to do after you paint, to cure it? Anything? Such a great idea! Thanks for sharing!

I used paint for glass I found at Hobby Lobby.
My paint said to cure…
place them in a cool oven. Then turn oven on to 350. Bake for 30 minutes. Turn off oven but leave glasses in oven until oven and glasses are completely cooled. Then take out. PLEASE follow what your glass paint directions say.
I still will not put in dishwasher.

They turned out great!!! Painting on glass is so much fun, I like the slick surface. I saw in the comments you felt like you can’t paint on canvas, try painting on a board like ampersand. They are quite popular with artists because they don’t stretch or get damaged like canvas. They come in a range of sizes and styles just like canvases and have a smooth painting surface you might like. Keep it up!

Oh my goodness Nancy! Your glasses look professionally done. Great job! And your beautiful cacti salad plates are adorable. Many people do not realize just how pretty cacti can be. The blooms in the wild are amazingly beautiful as you and I know. Good job my friend.

Nancy, a bang-up professional job! I have painted glasses of various sizes for three theme parties as favors — peacock, Holly Golightly (Tiffany), and Alice in Wonderland characters. Just this week, I painted 4 Dollar Tree beer pilsners with shamrocks —- because I couldn’t find any in the stores. Love that you created your own.

I’m not living in desert or arid place, but in tropical country (rather humid) instead. But I love cactus, that’s why I have some in my garden. I post about my Peruvian Apple Cactus when blooming here:
