Don’t Forget the Umbrella
And you better grab the oar too. That’s right friends… we went from hot and humid… to cool, wet and rainy! The gardens are growing mold and the flowers are bent over from the heavy downpours.
Welcome to Another Week of Tuesday Tidbits!
Hello and welcome in. So with all this rain and cool temps I stayed inside and cooked up a great big pot of Corn Chowder. It was delicious! I even added some browned ground Turkey.

I posted how I made the Corn Chowder on my Instagram account so I copied it from there and am sharing it with you down below. I didn’t follow a recipe… this is my version.
Kayaking
It did stop raining long enough so that I could get some kayaking in. (I’m pretty sure I’m still the only one on the lake with a purple Kayak!) There’s just something about kayaking. It’s so relaxing.
And speaking of purple… we had our first Morning Glory Bloom this week!

Tacos Anyone?
Since it is Tuesday we will head down to Crossroads Dinor, a local eatery, for Taco Tuesday. (3 Tacos for $5!) We usually get the Pulled Pork Tacos. The pulled pork is smoked in house. These are as delicious as they look!
On the way home we may stop and get some frozen ice. Yum!
The Western United States
I am praying that some of this rain could be delivered to the Southwest and anywhere else that they may need it. It has not rained for months where we live in AZ!

Happy Tuesday Nancy, your corn chowder sounds so perfect for a cool rainy day…we’ve had an unusual rainy summer in the South, and I do wish we could send rain to the hot, drought ridden west. I love your purple kayak, and BBQ pork does make great tacos, 3 for $5 is quite a deal! It sounds like you’re loving every minute of lake life!

Good morning Nancy. We have been in a wet and cooler than normal temps all spring and into summer. One of my dahlias fell over uprooted from drowning. We desperately need sunshine. It is like we are in a monsoon pattern with heavy rain and very high winds. Yes, I wish we could share with the western part of our country.
The corn chowder and the pulled pork tacos look so delicious. Your kitchen is happy and sunny even though the sun isn’t shining!

What a cute breakfast nook! Your flowers are gorgeous. We would appreciate some of that rain in NM. In the mountains where I am, it has clouded up the last few days, but disappointed us in the end.

Hi Nancy, It seems when it rains it pours! Too much here, too little there. We’re somewhere in the middle. It’s so hot and humid, I’m counting down the days until fall which typically won’t arrive for us until early October. Hope it’s dried up for you and you’re enjoying sunny skies on your lake. ♥

We live here in Pennsylvania during the summer. It’s my childhood home. We have fixed it up a bit but are keeping the vintage, cottage charm.
And yes… I agree… lightening and kayaking don’t go hand in hand.
