Tuesday Tidbits #175 Glad to be Back!

Hello!

It’s been a while… I may have forgotten how to post! Good news though… I didn’t forget about any of YOU! To all my subscribing friends… thanks so much for hanging in there! I sure do appreciate YOU! To my Blogging Friends… I will be stopping by to say hello on your blogs very soon!

The April 25th Bridge in Lisbon Portugal.

Our Intermission

Our intermission was somewhat restful and exciting. As a matter of fact… we were on a 3 week TransAtlantic Cruise to Europe. Believe it or not… we sailed under that beautiful Bridge above. It sure looks like The Golden Gate Bridge, doesn’t it? It’s not. It is however… a replica of the Golden Gate Bridge. This Bridge is in Lisbon, Portugal. After our ship sailed under this bridge… we docked in Lisbon for the day.

I was flying! Well, not really but it felt like it!
Weymouth, England Harbor.
Blarney Castle in Blarney, Ireland. And yes, I kissed the Blarney Stone.

I would be here all day if I shared with you every single “favorite” picture from our trip. That’s not fair to either of us. So… I’ll share some with you here, there and everywhere during the next few months. It puts me in a great position if I get writer’s block. There is no excuse for me to have Writer’s Block!

A Robin from Weymouth, England.
Bay of Biscay off the coast of Spain.

You Were Missed

I missed Easter and Mother’s Day with all of you. I hope your family activities were incredible. We enjoyed a lovely Easter meal on the ship. Mother’s Day was nice for me as I heard from the kids during all the packing of suitcases for our return to the States.

The Scott Monument in Edinburgh, Scotland. Sir Walter Scott was a Lawyer but became famous as he was a poet and the author of the Waverley Novels.

Our Cruise

The overall cruise was fabulous! We went to several countries and enjoyed each and every one of them! I can’t wait to share more of each country with you… they were all a delight. Getting a change of scenery did us good. And we had “no news” for 3 weeks… that was another added bonus.

We underwent some Covid tests during the entire cruise as they wanted to make sure it was under control. Masks were worn unless dining. Thankfully, we did not have Covid. Those who did were quarantined to a special deck for several days. We felt badly for them.

A mural made by Picasso in Guernika, Spain.
Enjoying Irish music in an Irish’s Pub in Cobh, Ireland.

We enjoyed restfulness… We enjoyed each other… We read… I worked on my art journal and continue to do so… but best of all we experienced Travel again. It was wonderful to explore and discover the unknown. I am happy to say that each country was extremely happy to see us. Almost every port had Welcoming Greeters. They not only missed the tourism dollars but they were happy to feel normal again.

Entrance to Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland.
A cobblestone street in Bermeo, Spain.

Home Sweet Home

No matter how wonderful a vacation is… it’s always good to get home.

We loved seeing our mountains come into view!
Our garden was still blooming!
How happy was I to see our Basil doing so well!
I squealed when I saw the saguaros in bloom!
Saguaro Blooms!

Even better were the Mother’s Day gifts that arrived the day after we got home!

The bouquet and the lighted cloche of yellow daisies were lovely Mother’s Day gifts!

Back to Blogging

I am feeling refreshed and I am ready to share with you once again. Thank you for not giving up on me. I so appreciate your continued support and lovely comments. I am also grateful for all of YOU sharing the bits and pieces of your own lives here in BlogLand. I’ll be checking in on you very soon.

Wishing all of you a lovely week ahead!

Enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend!

  1. So glad you had a wonderful trip with so many great memories, and that you didn’t have to deal with Covid. A gardening friend and her husband headed to Ireland for a tour only to land and find out he tested positive. They spent their entire ten days in the hotel room. I think they would have preferred your trip to theirs. 🙂 Welcome back!

    1. Thank you Judy! It’s good to be back. It was an amazing trip full of fun and memories. We got our 2nd Booster 2 weeks before our trip. I do believe that helped us avoid Covid. We are so Thankful.
      Happy Tuesday!

  2. Welcome home! What a wonderful trip! So glad you were able to travel again and see so many amazing places. I must have been fun just being on the ship, too. Hope you have a fun Memorial Day!

    1. Hi Beth! Yes it was a fabulous trip. And yes… being on the ship was quite enjoyable. We enjoyed many activities and enjoyed all the delicious food. I’ve been on a diet ever since we returned… lol!

  3. The cruise looks magnificent, Nance. Irish music in a pub in Ireland. That’s good living! Welcome home, my friend, and enjoy the beauty of spring.

    1. Thank you Mr. Mark! It was a wonderful trip! And yes… the Irish Pub was a true delight!
      Enjoy your day my friend!

  4. Nancy, what a fabulous trip that you two enjoyed. I am so happy that you were able to travel once again. I love every photo that you shared and will be eager to see more. 1. This too will be a trip to always remember. I’m so glad you got to experience a transatlantic cruise. It gives you an idea of what our ancestors did to get here to our beautiful USA!
Thank you for the visit. Happy Tuesday!

  5. It sounds like an incredible trip Nancy, I know you and your travel loving husband were enjoying every moment! What a lovely break, no news, just beautiful scenery! Besides back and forthing to the beach house, I am pretty much an arm chair traveler these days and so enjoy “traveling” through the camera lens of my friends! I had to smile when I read that you squealed when you returned and saw your cactus in bloom! It’s always so good to be home!

  11. Fantastic! I checked on you a few times, even yesterday. So glad to see you back. What an amazing voyage. I can only imagine all the stories you have to tell. I loved all the photos with the start in Lisbon. Spain, Scotland, Cobblestone streets, Irish culture. And to be welcomed home with Mothers Day, life has been good to your. Welcome home.

    1. Thank you so very much… it was an amazing adventure! We loved every minute of it!
Thanks for thinking of me… how nice of you. I see you were in Moab. I will be over to see what scary trails you did.
      Enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend!

  12. It sounds (and looks like) you’ve had an amazing time. Welcome home, Nancy 🥰 I missed you and I missed reading your Tuesday Tidbits on Wednesday mornings. Oh and I laughed so much when I read that you squealed when you saw the Saguaro blooms 🤣

    1. Oh yes… those saguaro blooms make me very happy… and the bees are happy as well. Thanks for the visit. I will be by to catch up with you very soon. Enjoy your weekend!

  13. It’s so good to have you back, Nancy. It looks like a fantastic trip! But I was wondering when I read “And yes, I kissed the Blarney Stone”: for that tour post is really short on words! 😉😊
I love your Arizona pictures, too.

    1. Ha! Ha! I’ll share more words and pictures with you soon. Kissing the Blarney Stone was an interesting process!
Thank you for enjoying our beautiful Arizona desert right along with us.
Thank you also for stopping by… you take good care of yourself and enjoy this weekend.

      1. We had a complete 4-week tour of Ireland planned – and booked – for 2019 – but had to cancel everything due to Covid. Now we’re hoping that we can do that next year. Luckily, our vouchers for the flights [with British Airways] are still valid.

      2. We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for ourselves, Nancy. Mary especially wants to see Ireland as her family on her mother’s side is from Ireland.

  14. Welcome home and welcome back to blogging! What a beautiful picture of you two. That was one amazing trip! Thank you for sharing your pictures with us.

  15. Like you Nancy I have been quite absent too. I’ve decided blogging how’s in ebbs and flows like life. I’ve enjoyed following along on Instagram!

    1. Yes… Instagram is easy, fast and quick. Fun and furious… as the algorithm drives me nuts. Plus here on this platform… I own it.
But I am always so glad to hear from Sweet Sue! Love seeing your Littles too! 💓

  16. Looks like a WONDERFUL trip! Can’t wait to have you share more about it throughout your upcoming posts!! Hugs to you as you return!!
