Tuesday Tidbits #179 Bits and Pieces

Happy First Day of Summer!

Today is the Longest Day of the Year!

Get outside and enjoy every minute of it!

After a bit of painting … I plan to take my kayak out today and paddle the lake like these geese.

Antiquing

We had a cold week and it was windy. But it didn’t stop us from antiquing. We had two wonderful days of yard sales, thrifting, and antiquing where we ventured down country roads that led us to new and old places. We even enjoyed and outdoor Arts and Antiques Show.

Cute setup!
I bought a lovely necklace from this vendor.
I bought these old envelopes at the show.
They look lovely styled on our old typewriter.
Do you see that small adorable transferware covered dish on the bottom shelf of our corner cupboard? That was a purchase from this past weekend.
Our sunroom displays this corner cupboard nicely.

Sights Along the Way

We were in Titusville, Pennsylvania and we were told to go inside the bank as it had a gorgeous mural on the ceiling. I was not allowed to take pictures inside.

Beautiful building.
Fresh cut hay and an old barn.
Hay was being cut everywhere!
This Amish boy was cutting hay as well.
Someone didn’t get the memo to cut the hay.

Our Garden Flowers

Miranda Lambert Rose
Yellow Loosestrife
Spotted Dead Nettle
My mom called these Buttercups but many people call them sundrops.
Our garden gives us colorful flowers all summer!
Our purple coneflowers have begun to bloom.
Our neighbor’s lilies.

Boat Ride with Friends

Not just any old friends… but special friends!

This is Apollo!
Meet Harley!
And Daisy is getting her beauty rest!
Our weekend ended with a small sundae!

Bits and Pieces

So there you have it. Our week was full of Bits and Pieces! And all those Bits and Pieces made a Whole lot of fun!

Enjoy your First Day of Summer! Hope you find something fun to do. And whatever it is… CELEBRATE! Make some lasting memories! Thank you for stopping by my friends!

    1. Every field we saw was either just cut or being cut so when I saw this one … I giggled to myself. Thank you for the visit.
      Happy week to you both!

  1. Nancy, you and hubby enjoy life to the fullest! Your post makes me smile seeing all your bits and pieces. Antiquing is always a fun outing. I just love your red and white corner in the sunroom…beautiful ♥️ Your garden is truly amazing with all of its flowers. I know it is special since many blooms were planted by your mother. Enjoy paddling today, my friend! Happy first day of Summer!

    1. Oh thank you sweet Pam! It’s definitely SUMMERTIME! Woo Hoo!
I do love how the corner cupboard has turned out. That was my vision… sigh.

  2. Nancy, Your week does sound like fun. I love the new transferware piece you found. Your cabinet is striking.
Your flowers are beautiful. So lovely.
I am amazed at the mural. So glad it is preserved and that you shared it with us.
Have a great week. It is very hot here. It was forecast 103 and now is 101 tomorrow.

    1. Good Morning Bonnie. I am so glad you enjoyed our adventures this past week. The mural was really something to see. The vault was cool too… but I was asked to not photograph that… which is understandable.
I always enjoy your visits dear friend. Thank you!
Stay cool! We heat up today as well!
      Happy Summer!

  3. What a lovely week! I like the treasures you found, especially the old letters and the way you styled them on the typewriter, so pretty! Enjoy your cool temps, we are in the high 90s in the South! Too hot for June! Beautiful dog boaters, are they yours? Happy paddling and happy Summer!

    1. Good Mornibg Jenna! We start heating up today. So I enjoyed those cooler temps we had.
The envelopes are darling with the added flowers… aren’t they?
Those adorable pups belong to our friends. We love them as they are so much fun! And they LOVE boat rides!
Happy Summer Jenna! Thank you for stopping by… want to go kayaking with me?

  4. Nancy, it looks like you are having so much fun! You bought some really pretty pieces. I love to go antiquing. We are under a heat advisory with a heat index of 107 today. So, I’ll be staying indoors. Enjoy your beautiful weather, and happy first day of summer, sweet friend!

  5. I’d say that was an awesome week! Love the pictures…..so stunning and I never would have imagined a mural like that in the bank!! Enjoy this week and the start of summer!!

  6. I always have so much fun on Tuesdays! Such a happy week you had. I love your four-footed boating friends; they look so sweet. Your flowers are truly amazing; I am particularly enraptured with the combination of colors on the hillside. I always love learning something new, and so I had to go look up transferware. I have seen it, but I didn’t know the term or the history behind it. Best of all was, of course, your “sweet” ending that had to include chocolate! Have a great week, Nancy, and Happy Summer!

  7. Lady, you’ve been busy inside, outside, at the lake, and on the road! Everything looks picture perfect including that amazing Tuesday Tidbits geese shot. What a great catch that is! Hope you enjoyed your kayak trip.

  8. Love your red and white! I think you have much better antiquing there than we do here! I suppose it all depends on the shop or vendor but it seems we see a lot of so-so stuff. I loved the booth you shared. Have fun and keep cool! (We were in the 90s yesterday here in MIchigan.)

  9. Your summer is starting out wonderfully. I enjoyed all the photos but wanted to comment about the one where your mom called the yellow flowers Buttercups. That is what people called them in New England. But what is interesting is the next photo down. The pale pink flowers with the little bit of yellow at the center…they were called Buttercups where I grew up in Texas. Those pale pink flowers would completely carpet fields for a few weeks each year.

    1. I have heard people call the pink ones buttercups as well. So funny! I am so glad you came over for a visit!
      Happy Summer!
