Tuesday Tidbits #193 Autumn Bliss

One minute we had Summer temps and then Mother Nature blinked her eyes and just like that… Fall appeared!

With Fall comes cooler temperatures and the days become crisp even though rain has shown up in our neck of the woods. Warmth fills our home as the furnace has turned on. Candles are lit which permeate the air with a fragrance of Pumpkin Spice. So let the coziness begin… some call it Hygge.

Do you see that Pumpkin Tea Cup… my soon to be daughter in love gave that to me. 🧡 The lighted Candy Corn tree is from my sweet sister.🧡

🍁Fall Bucket List🍁

Remember last week I talked a little about my Fall Bucket List. More has been checked off!

1. Fall harvest brings more Pumpkin patches!

Sweet Man found the best pumpkin! It was the most orange in the whole patch!
We chose a smaller one. Some were half the size of a pallet. Wow!

We went to a Pumpkin Patch! 🎃 ✔️ Another item checked off our Fall Bucket List!

2. Fall brings County Fairs or in our case a Town Fair!

This Town Fair had a Tractor Pull. Have you ever been to a tractor pull? This was my first! It was quite fun!

The tractor pulls a sled with heavy concrete slabs.
Each tractor takes a turn at pulling the sled.
After all have had a turn pulling the sled. The sled gets added weight. This continues until only one tractor remains and it is the tractor that can pull the most weight.
My high school classmate won! His tractor pulled the most weight!

Town Fairs are quite fun and you never know what you might see!

The Grinch just happened to ride by!
Pennsylvania’s largest watermelon. Or is it the world’s largest?
Large Pumpkins!
Creative ways to make a cow.
Sweet Man’s favorite bunny.
That face!
How many ways can you decorate a Hay Barrel?

Went to a Town Fair. ✔️ Another checked off of our Fall Bucket List!

3. Try to savor the Seasonal Changes.

We hope this was not our last boat ride for the year.
Colors are trying to pop from the trees.
My favorite tree on the lake is slowly sharing its Autumn Bliss.

Enjoying each moment of the season! Stop and pause often.✔️

4. Decorate your home with colors of Autumn.

As you can tell… we are enjoying the harvest. Different varieties of squash and our neighbor’s chestnuts. We really enjoyed the yellow striped Delicata squash on the left.

5. Enjoying every morsel of the Fall Harvest! ✔️

We really enjoyed the yellow striped Delicata squash. It was delicious! It is our new favorite. The skin can be eaten as well so it does not need to be peeled.

1. I cut the Delicato Squash in half and cleaned the seeds out. 2. I sliced it in half inch slices and drizzled it with olive oil and sprinkled with some salt. 3. Roast in a 425 degree oven for 20 minutes. The skin is edible and it adds a fabulous crispy addition to the creamy squash.

Have you been checking your Fall Bucket List off? ✔️✔️✔️

Thank You

As I always try to convey… we sure do appreciate all of you. Thank you for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

Wishing all of you a wonderful week ahead. Enjoy what September brings to you this week. Perhaps you can check off some things from your own Fall Bucket List

Whatever you have planned… make every day count.

Happy Fall and Stay Cozy!

  1. You’ve had another spectacular week! When I was younger and went to more local fairs, I always enjoyed tractor pulls but before that when I was a child they used draft horses and those were really fun to watch. I have a few fall items out, but if you stopped by you’s tisk tisk me. 🙂 I am headed to an apple orchard today looking for some macouns. I hope that balances out my lack of decorations. 🙂

    1. They had draft horses as well but they were the day before we went.
Hope you have no rain at the Apple Orchard! It’s been raining constant for 3 days here in Pa.
      Enjoy those apples!

  2. What a fun week checking those items off your bucket list! I’ve never been to a tractor pull. It looks like a fun event. It won’t feel like fall here for a few more weeks. Thanks for bringing me a little fall this morning 🎃 🚜

  3. Nancy, you and Sweet Man had a fabulous week. It appears that your lake area has so many down-home activities with a tractor pull, fairs, and loads of fun for every age. I love your autumn bliss photos and there is something special about a big showing of orange pumpkins.

Wishing you a beautiful day, my friend 🍂🧡🍁

    1. Good Morning Pam. We live in an area with lots to do and so glad about that.
I’m so glad you enjoyed. Happy Tuesday and thanks for the love.

  4. Oh Nancy, what a fun week! There is nothing better than a visit to a pumpkin patch! The Town Fair looks like it was so full of creativity, those hay bales are hilarious and the sweet animals irresistible. I love delica squash too, and have only made it a few times, I need to add it to my grocery list soon. You are certainly embracing Fall with both arms!

  5. How fun! Although I’ve been to a few county fairs, I’ve never seen a tractor pull. Cool! And I love your shot of the pumpkins with the streak of white pumpkins to bring your eye up. Nice! Have a great day!

    1. I have to say… I really enjoyed the tractor pull. I grew up in this area and never went to one …but now I did.
Thank you for the visit and enjoy your Tuesday!

  6. Nancy, it looks like you are having a wonderful fall. The fair sounds like so much fun! The squash looks delicious. Enjoy your week, sweet friend!

    1. Oh how fun! You will have to share pictures with us. I have never been to that fair and would love to go.
And the Squash… oh my delicious!
      Thank you for the visit!

  7. It has been as if a “switch” was flipped on the temperature thermometer! Brrrr! The furnace turned on for us too and sweaters were pulled from the bottom of the clothing pile to now instead rest on top. 🙂 Here’s hoping there’s still a chance for a few Indian Summer days ahead…

Spectacular photos, as always!! And the squash is calling my name for certain! 🍁Which town were you celebrating in?

  8. Oh my! The Grinch and his horse made me laugh so hard I almost fell over 🤣🤣
Thank you, Nancy, I really needed a giggle this morning. 🥰

  9. Beautiful Nancy and I do know about tractor pulls. We have been to many of them…not much else to do in Kansas where I grew up…state and county fairs, demolition derbys, agriculture judgings, etc. Currently, we are getting ready for Hurricane Ian here in Florida. Going to ride it out so prayers for our city of Cape Coral. Hugs my friend and thanks for your bucket list items. I have many of the same.

  10. hooray for the check list! I love pumpkin patches and orange is so fun during the autumn season. I love the candy corn lit tree. The Grinch for the win, right? Too funny, I love the animals at a fair too, and this time the hay bales were fun to see. Not sure I have ever seen them decorated like that. Fun.. happy autumn…continues

  11. You are SO maxing out your fall days in PA. And I love that! You’re doing so many fun things (and cooking remarkable food!). We came to the cottage today — it’s cold and rainy but inside toasty and warm with a roaring fire and a delicious dinner. Can’t beat it (though the night will be cold — and we don’t have heat apart from that fireplace and a space heater. Another space heater is on tomorrow’s shopping agenda! Keep having a wonderful time!

  12. I’ve never seen a tractor pull, now I want to! I loved this colorful and uplifting post Nancy. Again, you decorate like a pro. I’m glad you are still getting days at the lake, enjoy!

  13. What a fun week you had! You live in a very creative town. The hay bundles guarantee smiles as do the cute animals. I’m glad you are getting some fall temps and enjoying the season.

  14. Great post Nancy!! Love all of the fall colors! Having grown up in Iowa one would think I would be familiar with tractor pulls, but they are new to me. It looks fascinating….Thanks for sharing!!

  15. Country fair, fall festival and harvest festivals are so much fun! We had plans on attending a country fair in a nearby town this past weekend, before the whole family caught a cold. There will be other times 🙂 Thank you for sharing yours, and I have indeed seen tractor pulls before, they also often do them with working horses pulling logs, same concept.

    1. Yes they had draft horse pulls at this fair as well… but we missed it.
I hope you all are feeling better!
      Thank you for the visit!
