Tuesday Tidbits #202 Goodbye November

Hello Friends

Thanks for joining us over here at

Two Trails One Road

for another

Tuesday Tidbits!

If you are from the USA… How was your Thanksgiving? Ours was quiet and so wonderful! We hosted a Friendsgiving earlier in the week with 20 friends… it was fun and filling! And we had a lovely family gathering in Pennsylvania before we came out here to AZ. Back in Pa. we enjoyed lots of good food and also enjoyed a boat ride. Lots of festivities to be grateful for… as well as our quiet Thanksgiving.

My dear friend gave this Christmas Cloche to me! I love it! ❤️ It adds such nice ambiance!
I made this Apple Cranberry Crisp again. We had it on Thanksgiving Day. It’s quite delicious! You can find the recipe here.

Saguaros

On my walk the other day I saw this tall saguaro. (Pronounced sa-war-oh) By looking at its size I believe it is about 75-100 years old. However, what amazed me more was that in its late age… it was starting to grow an arm!

An arm is starting to grow on this saguaro!

Here in Arizona… we love our saguaros very much! They are protected. It is illegal to cut one down or remove one from the desert. They can grow very old and can weigh 3200-4800 pounds if hydrated after a rain. I loved seeing that little arm starting to grow… such promise!

Adventure!

We did head out for a desert adventure with a few friends. It was great to be among the saguaros again.

🌵💚🌵

Seeing the back desert roads and views made for a fabulous Thanksgiving Week.

A favorite spot!
The views!
The saguaros!

Cleators

Whenever we head this way on an adventure… we always stop in at the Yacht Club. It’s a bar out in the middle of the desert. It’s a place to stop and take a rest from the ride. It’s not fancy… but it’s quite unique!

Inside you see the uniqueness. It’s always fun to look around.

The Duke is surrounded by George Washingtons!
Dollar Bills line the walls inside! And yes… we have added a dollar bill as well!
One of the boats in the back… it’s why it’s called the Yacht Club.
Even a pirate ship!
You never know what you are going to see!

Thank You!

It was another great week! This is my Digital Journal… and in this wayward world I enjoy sharing the goodness in my world. I’m extremely grateful so why not share it. This is my reason for Tuesday Tidbits!

As I always try to convey… we sure do appreciate all of you. Thank you for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

Flowers blooming this late in November!

Wishing all of you a wonderful week ahead. Enjoy what this upcoming week brings to you.

Whatever you have planned… make every day count and be thankful for your Blessings.

Can you believe that the next time we chat… it will be December?!

  1. This post puts a smile on my face, Nancy! I so enjoy your Tuesday Tidbits. I loved, loved visiting Arizona years ago and being out in those magnificent saguaros (did I spell it correctly? 🤣). I have the most wonderful children’s book I read to all our 5 children (they all still remember it too!). It is entitled Catcus Hotel, by Brenda Z. Guiberson. Have you seen it? It’s a perfectly delightful book! Blessings on your Tuesday, Nancy. ❤️

    1. Thank you so much for enjoying this week of ours! Saguaros are so amazing and are such a beautiful icon of the Southwest.
I have not read that book but I am going to get it…! Thank you for mentioning it to me. And thank you for the visit!

  2. Happy Tuesday Nancy! You know I love seeing your beautiful cacti, and wow, I had no idea they could be a hundred years old! The Yacht Club looks like a very fun place, the old boats in the back are so crazy! I’m glad you had a lovely Thanksgiving week, we had planned to go to the beach house, but a rainy forecast changed our plans and we stayed home and had a last minute non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner with BBQ ribs, it was great!

  3. Such a delightful post. I’ve been to Arizona and have seen the amazing saguaros, but I didn’t know they were protected or the other facts about them. Fascinating! I love the contrast between AZ and PA in your blog. We are blessed to live in a country with so many different types of beauty. Have another great week, Nancy!

  5. Good morning, Nancy. I am sorry I am late to the tidbits. Thanksgiving sounds perfect. It is so nice to travel back to the desert with you to see the stunning views that you capture. Thanks for sharing how to pronounce saguaro. I love the new cloche! Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday, my friend!

    1. I made it easier as everyone was assigned a side dish or dessert. It was fabulous!
      Thanks for your sweet comments.
      Happy December!

  8. First…I love your welcoming home. I always do. You have a knack for putting al together.

Funny about the saguaro arm. I just saw one the other day too, and was thinking it was a first bud for me as well.

And how do I not know about Cleators? lol. I just sent the website link to my husband. What a coo stop over after wheeling around. Welcome “home” again.

    1. Cleators is on Crown King Road. It’s on the way to Crown King. Also the Back Road to Cleators is pretty cool. Some scary spots along the way so it’s wise to do with other people. We have ridden it with the Cave Creek Riders… a Meet Up Group.
I’m glad you saw a saguaro bud as well… this was my first. Thanks for the visit my friend. Happy December!

      1. Thanks, Nancy. Definitely on our list for a new jaunt. Rarely do we go to anything rated over 2 alone, so thank you. I enjoyed this post so much.
