Tuesday Tidbits #221 A Sonoran Desert Spring

Hello Friends!

I hope your Easter or Passover was wonderful.

Sonoran Desert Spring

There’s just something about Spring. After a long winter where the landscape lies dormant… then all of a sudden the landscape begins to blossom. Spring has Sprung. I love it!

The desert floor is covered in many different kinds of yellow flowers.

Alive with color!
🍃💛🍃

The Sonoran desert Spring temperatures have begun to warm up. It was a longer then usual winter here, cold and damp. Finally, we are able to enjoy the perfect temps that we are known for. This is the best time of the year to visit the Southwest as it is in all its glory. It’s warm and colorful! Many people tend to travel here at this time of year… to enjoy what we already know and love.

🍃💜🍃
The array of colors in this area was incredible.

This is the time to slow down and surround yourself with nature. Not only are the wildflowers blooming but the cacti are beginning to share in the fun as well.

I enjoy seeing a cactus in the wild that has begun to bud.
Such a transformation!
Can you find two pink cacti blooming? Those are wild hedgehog cacti.
Here is a closer view of a Hedgehog Cactus in bloom.

Our Backyard Gardens

Just like the wild areas of the desert that continues to burst into a myriad of colors so does our backyard.

The Palo Verde tree really is green. Many newcomers to the desert think their trunks have been painted.
Our gardens have sprung!
Pink Globe Mallow
Our hedgehog gives us lots of smiles!

And since I am sharing the pink in our yard… Our Queen Elizabeth rose has begun to bloom.

Our first Queen Elizabeth rose this season.

I hope you are able to get out and feel the warmth of the sun on your face and let the sounds of nature encompass you.

“Let us dance in the sun,
wearing wild flowers in our hair.”

Speaking of roses… I met up with these lovely gals.

  1. Good morning, Nancy! Spring in your area is just gorgeous! You have shared so many beautiful blooms. Spring is finally arriving here in Oklahoma, and I find it difficult to stay indoors. I’ve washed all the outdoor furniture and windows, weeded the flower beds, and have started a notebook for all my planting ideas. I plan on visiting our local nursery this weekend. Sweet friend, I hope you have a most wonderful week ahead!

  2. So many beautiful flowers! You know I love the cacti! There is nothing more fun than a blogger get together! My sister and her husband and my brother and his wife both have left the chaos of Southern California and have moved to the Phoenix suburbs, they are loving it! I need to come visit you all!
