Tuesday Tidbits #234 Small Town Americana

Here We Are at Tuesday Again!

Hello Friends!

I’m sure glad you are here. How was your week and the 4th of July? We had a fun and very active week, with every day being jam-packed! I’m proud to say I stayed in the present and did very little social media, as well as being absent from all my blogging friends’ posts. I hope to slow down this week to catch up with all of you.

Another Beautiful Lakeside Street Post!

Even though we were busy, the 4th of July Weekend was spent with family and friends, and it was fun from the start! A Birthday Celebration took us to Cleveland for good times and good food.

Cleveland, Ohio

Back home again, we watched our town fireworks with fabulous friends. Then on the morning of the 4th of July, we headed to the lake to watch the fun festivities… Bike and trike parades, swim races, the watermelon toss, a tug of war, a water balloon fight, and sack races. Our Lakeside Community came together and created a remarkable time for all ages! Lots of memories for many were made! We had small-town Americana at its best.

This firetruck was decorated for the 4th of July parade.
I giggled when I saw these kayaks decorated!
Betsy Ross made it to the parade!
We even had ants at a picnic for the parade! Do you recognize Dawn from Hugs n Blessings ?
Swim races!
Sack races!
Sidewalk Chalk Contest!
Incredibly sweet!
It was wonderful to see the turnout! We love this town!

Of course, I made this dessert for a gathering down at the lake with friends. Remember when I shared it with you a few weeks ago? It sure is tasty and pretty! Find the recipe here.

Delicious!

Family Birthday

A day of rest was needed, but then after that I had to prepare for a family event here at the house—my brother and sister’s birthday party. I wanted to make it special, so I dug out my Mom’s old cookbooks and tried to find the pineapple cake she made for special occasions. It is not on a recipe card, and we believe she made it from 3 different recipes. This one turned out pretty tasty, but we still are unsure if it’s ”The One!” A delightful time was had at the Ole Homestead. Our childhood cottage once again entertains our family while we reminisce! Total bliss!

❤️FAMILY!❤️

What’s Blooming?

Speaking of Bliss… my first-ever Bee Balm is blooming! A gardener at the lake shared this plant with me last summer, and it took! I’ll have several more blooms soon!

Bee Balm!

As you can see our gardens are full with butterfly weed, zinnias, Gerbera, and Blazing Star.

Who loves Hydrangeas? Our Strawberry Vanilla is starting to bloom! The Lime Lights are not quite ready.

Strawberry Vanilla Hydrangeas are beginning to bloom.
Our neighbor’s Double Delight is gorgeous, don’t you think?
And it’s even more beautiful when fully bloomed.

Thank You!

We had a wonderful week!

As I always try to convey… we certainly appreciate all of you. Thank you for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

We wish all of you a wonderful week ahead. Enjoy what this upcoming week brings to you. And whatever you have planned… make every day count and be thankful for your Blessings.
