Balboa Park

The architecture of Balboa Park is a sight to see. Considered Spanish-Renaissance style and intricate to say the least.

San Diego can boast about their city park and museum area! We strolled through the area and were quite impressed with the park’s beauty.

Home to the famous San Diego Zoo and the Balboa Desert Garden.  The same place that Dr. Seuss enjoyed. It is said that many of his drawings for his famous books were inspired from the gardens of this park. What do you think?

Beautiful fountains “sprinkle” the park…

Look at that tree in the background… a Dr. Seuss inspiration?!?!

Happy Princesses? They were coming from a photo shoot in one of the gardens.

After strolling the outside area we went inside the botanical gardens.

Some Garden photos are provided for your enjoyment! Don’t go far… I’ll be back with scenes from La Jolla!

    1. These were beautiful. I also enjoy the Cleveland Botanical Gardens in Cleveland, Ohio! They are gorgeous!

Oh my… hows the typing going for you?! It must be tough! Hang in there and a speedy recovery for you!

      1. My left forearm has started complaining about all the extra work – but I guess its just been lazy all these years 🙂 typing isn’t so bad, just a bit slow. Using a mouse is out of the question, but I am getting used to the trackpad.

      2. Yes the track pad is hard for me right or left handed! Do you have a smart phone? I have been posting ALL my blog posts through WordPress app.

  1. That looks like a botanical garden worth a visit 🙂 I’m in a garden mood right now, even though it says that we’re getting snow this weekend. lol. I just received three gardening books in the mail yesterday. I’m all inspired, and ready for spring now! 🙂 I enjoyed this post.

    1. I am so glad you did! Spring will come soon.

We planted a perennial garden back at the Lake house in Pennsylvania. Anxious to see what has survived the hard winter!

  2. Love Balboa Park….great restaurant there and the museums and botanical gardens…and of course the architecture of the structures and history of the exposition that started it all. I actually took engagement photos of our oldest daughter and her husband in Balboa park back in the day…the setting is so perfect for that! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!!

    1. Oh Kirt… how fabulous that you got to do that for your daughter in this most beautiful place!

The history of the exposition that started Balboa Park was fascinating to read.

Glad to escort you down memory lane my friend! Thanks fir stopping by!
