Country Drives

We love going antiquing, and it often leads us on delightful country drives.

We never know what we are going to see or find when we start out on our adventure.

Driving along our path and soaking in the lovely country charm is such a beautiful experience.

There are plenty of Amish Farms in our area, which are a pleasure to see.

Farms, along with their beautiful barns, dot the landscape.

I think I might be partial to red barns!

But what we really love is finding a roadside market! This one was on an honor system.

Down the road a little we found corn! We saw a lot in tassel!

Of course, we brought all that summer goodness home!

Country Cooking

All this summer goodness was made into several different meals. One meal I made is a popular social media no-cook sauce pasta. It’s a delicious pasta dish with fresh tomatoes and basil. My basil is unbelievably lush this year and continues to provide.

In a large bowl, I diced fresh tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, and roasted red peppers, mixed in a generous amount of basil and garlic powder, then drizzled lots of olive oil over the mixture. This mixture sat for an hour on the counter to marinate.

I added some cooked hot pasta to my big bowl of tomatoes, peppers, and basil and mixed everything together. I drizzled on more olive oil, added salt and pepper to taste, and sprinkled on Parmesan cheese. It turned out to be such a delicious farm-to-table dish! There are many variations of this recipe on Instagram/Pinterest.

For dessert, we had fresh peaches and cream with a bit of honey, a sprinkle of walnuts, and blueberries.

All this Country Goodness is served in our Country Kitchen.

Country Cottage Gardens

Our pollinator gardens continue to supply beautiful flowers.

Many bouquets are made daily.

Country Blessings

Living by a beautiful lake in the countryside brings us many wonderful blessings, and we feel grateful for them daily!
