Tuesday Tidbits #320 The Living is Good

Welcome Folks!

Hi there, Friends! Did you know that yesterday was National Gardening Day? We absolutely adore this time of year here in the desert. April is when all our gardens burst into life. Sometimes I feel the gardens are just as excited about living here as we are.

This post has more garden photos so if you don’t like flowers go ahead and scroll down as I have something else to share later in this post.

A beautiful beginning.

Who would have thought I would enjoy gardening in the Southwest? I am not a Master of it yet, but I sure do like to try and try until I succeed! Experimentation at its best. Sweet Man and I planted and prayed that all the plants would like their new digs! Some did, and some did not, but we have had so much fun making our backyard gardens come alive.

I saw this quote the other day and it spoke to me.

We may think we are nurturing our garden, but of course it’s really our garden nurturing us. ~Jenny Uglow

Isn’t that the truth? I know for sure that our gardens nurture us! Do yours nuture you?

Penstemon

Tropicana Rose

Hope Rose in Bloom.

Prickly Pear

It’s Not National Welding Day

Ha! Ha! But… Sweet Man and I took a Welding Class. It was a fabulous time, and we were darn good at it. Sweet Man has been wanting to learn, as he has all the required tools and a project or two to work on.

A cute welding team!

These are our abstract creations that we made. We welded the post to the base and then the arms. Afterward, we made a design on the front. We are quite proud of ourselves! Sweet man will be able to tackle those projects, and I can assist if he needs me. I understand the basics!

“Learn something new. Try something different. Convince yourself that you have no limits.” ~Brian Tracy

Have you learned anything new as of late? Was it fun?

Thank You

Time to learn something new.

I hope you can get out into nature and your gardens.

As I always try to convey… we sure do appreciate all of you. Thank you for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

  1. Love, love love your desert gardens. If it wasn’t for gardening I don’t think I’d be alive! We learned so much from our grandmothers and mothers. I count myself nurtured! Love your welding projects. You two always have activities that keep you busy.

  2. Good morning, Nancy. I love your Arizona gardens and am amazed at all of the fabulous color. I guess in my mind that gardening in the desert would be lackluster. How could I have been so wrong?! Look at you two, taking a welding class together, and your lovely creations. Y’all are cute welders. I guess couples that weld together, stay together LOL!

Wishing you a blessed Easter ✝️

    1. Good Morning, Pam. You gave me my first giggle of the day. The welding class was quite fun!

  3. Well, I love garden photos and flowers so this was my cuppa! Beautiful, all. And I rarely (hardly ever, maybe in a botanical garden) see desert gardens or flowers, so bonus points. I love your welding project. Well done!

  4. Nancy how beautiful your garden is…Of course I am loving all the cacti blooms. Isn’t it fun to take on new and different endeavors? Welding! My father was a welder for many years…and yes, there are many tricks to the trade. Thank you for sharing this glorious and wonderful Spring day. Blessings my friend

  5. I love seeing all your pretty plants and blossoms in your desert area, Nancy. Yes, our gardens do nurture us, don’t they? You two did make the cutest welding team and your projects are so pretty. I am doing watercolor classes right now with my son that lives here with me. He’s an artist, but had never taken a watercolor class. That’s my newest adventure.
    Happy Holy Week blessings.

  7. All the hard work you put in your garden shows in these beautiful, colorful photos. Good for you for trying welding. My husband took a class in it. When he welds, my main job is to NOT look.😉

    1. It’s very important not to look. 😄
