Hello Friends!
I think this may be a short one this week. I’ve been busy enjoying a little company here at the house, along with a few outings, so I don’t have a lot of big things to report. But I do have a few pictures and a few little “tidbits.”

Today it feels like fall.
It’s cool outside; the Canadian geese are flying overhead, the windows are open, and the A/C is off. Yay! The twinkling lights are coming on earlier in the evening and staying on a little longer in the morning. I’m even looking forward to pulling out my fall sweaters. I think we’re getting close! It’s 55° as I type this. It feels so good. It was a very hot and humid summer with a bit more rain than usual. So I am welcoming all the Fall Feels!

Garden Center

My friend and I visited our local garden center. Everything was lovely and quite fall-like.

This garden sculpture of the horse is metal and made out of metal butterflies!

The small red shed barn in the background of the picture above is an old 1890s ticket booth from the Edinboro Fairgrounds. It was relocated to this garden center last Spring. They completely took it apart and then put it back together. The Garden Center named Scotland Yards received a preservation award from our local historical society.
Our Gardens
Our gardens are giving us a few little surprises. I had one lone zinnia bloom—just one, but I’ll take it! It was one Zinnia that survived from the Moles! Then a rose that I was sure was gone forever decided to bloom again. I am so happy this garden proved me wrong.

You can see in the picture above that the hydrangeas are putting on a show too.

Freezing Corn
I did get some sweet corn frozen! It will taste good when we come back for Christmas!

Update on Monarchs
They are all in their Chrysalis stage! We may have Monarchs next week! 🧡
I Think That’s a Wrap
So maybe I don’t have a big story this week. I just have a small collection of little happenings, a few pretty pictures, and that unmistakable feeling that the seasons are beginning to change. I have a sweatshirt on today! Big smiles all around!
Sometimes there doesn’t have to be anything big happening. A cool breeze through an open window, geese overhead, one unexpected rose, and the first hint of fall can be enough to make an ordinary week feel pretty darn special. And I think that’s more than enough for this week’s Tuesday Tidbits.
Thank You
Short and sweet and that’s okay! Thanks for being here! You are all so appreciated. Happy Fall y’all!

It was 46 when I made coffee this morning. Fall is definitely in the air up here. 🙂 Your flowers are beautiful, and your garden center is truly one of a kind. Enjoy having the A/C off because I sure am. 🙂 Happy Fall!
You do everything up so beautifully!
Good morning, Nancy! Simple things are just as important as the big things. We find beauty in the everyday if we pay attention. I love the red barn/shed story. Butch threw out some sunflower and zinnia seeds in August and we have a few blooms. I must say I am trying hard to not be envious of your cool morning. We are still in the mid to upper 90’s with no significant rain.
Beautiful images!! Enjoy simple pleasures, sweet friend!
A calm and pleasant post. It’s nice to read about the simple signs of the season changing and the small garden successes.
Beautiful Photos too!!
Nancy, Right now it is 81 degrees but feels like 100…expecting a low of 75 or so the weather man says. So no noticeable cooler temps for us Floridians, at least not yet. However, it should cool off a little later in the month. Enjoy your guests, life is too short to sweat the small stuff. Love your blooms! Even one can bring us joy. Looking forward to your next week’s tidbits. hugs🥰
I feel honored you linked to both of my posts in one go, Nancy! Gorgeous snaps, love that zinnia! Fall feels have started here, too, with maple leaf blushes and some yellow leaves. Enjoy your cool weather and get that sweater ready! Have a wonderful week 🙂
Thank you for the update on your Monarchs, such happy news! And speaking of butterflies, what a magnificent sculpture…I zoomed in! Your flower pictures are breathtaking! And how clever is the name…Scotland Yards!!!
Lovely Tidbits today, Nancy…Feeling the love and thanks for sharing the joy!
I enjoyed catching up with you! As always, your photos are captivating and your words resonate truth with the beauty of the ordinary days- appreciating nature and the upcoming changes. We are in a bit of a heat wave but this, too, shall pass. So fun about your zinnia! I have been inspired by my fellow blogger friends, you included, to grow some next year! Something to look forward to after the winter
You have enjoyed a wonderful classic late-summer or early-autumn week! That butterfly horse sculpture looks absolutely stunning, and the garden center the best place for a little inspiration!!
Your week sounds like it was wonderful! Thanks for taking the time to post. Your photo of the geese is stunning. Those clouds. Wowza!
Beautiful photos. I love the Canadian geese heading south.
So pretty. Love the horse sculpture. Is the orange flower a cone flower?
Yes! It’s a gorgeous cone flower. Thanks for coming over for a visit.
Your post may have been shorter than usual, but you hit all the high points with beautiful pictures. I love hearing and seeing that fall is around the corner!
Oh dear, my comment was dropped!
I’ll start again…
Your autumn vignettes are so warm and cozy, Nancy. How wonderful to feel changes in the air with cooler temperatures and wearing sweaters and sweatshirts. I loved the horse that was enhanced with metal butterflies! Enjoy your week of beautiful changes. xo
Hello,
Oh, I enjoyed this sweet post. I had a sweatshirt on this morning when I went for my morning walk. It does feel good, refreshing after many hot humid days.
I love the horse sculpture, beautiful!! Thank you for sharing.
A beautiful wind down on summer, Nancy. Garden centers are such fun this time of year. We were on vacation past four days. Our gal that sits the farm found 4 monarchs in various stages on our milkweed garden. Way to go to you!
We’ve enjoyed a couple of nice, cool.mormings this week, but honestly, going ro 94, 95° by 2pm is just exhausting. I’m so over it all, especially since I struggle jist to try to water (thank goodness for pocket hoses’ lightweight maneuverability!). Enjoy your company!
The local garden center is lovely, but I am not sure it can match your garden!
It’s getting time to bring fall inside, isn’t it? So lovely — I wish it lasted longer. Though we haven’t seen too much change in my part of Michigan. I’m hoping to get to the lake for one last time next week and I suspect it will be far more colorful. Oh, don’t you hate that pack and leave time? I suspect the car will be very full of all the plants I brought up (or their pots — I’ve been home too long and I fear they haven’t made it!). Then the clothes, the books, the art supplies. Do you get to stay in PA a little longer into the fall? I hope so. Love the flying geese photo!
We do! We may even see snow fly!
Now I’m craving sweetcorn!
Luckily I’m going to the market later. Just back from a trip and, happily, need to restock my fruit and veg.
Well Enjoy!
Thanks so much for the visit!
