Tuesday Tidbits #295 An October Tea

Welcome to Tea on Tuesday

The vibrant Autumn colors are surrounding us here at the Lake. We have beautiful mid-October scenery!

“It must be October, the trees are falling away and showing their true colors.” — Charmaine J. Forde

I am honored to be a guest for Tea on Tuesdays once again, where I get to join my dear friends Pam at Everyday Living and Mary from Home is Where the Boat Is. On the third Tuesday of each month, these two gals share the most darling tea settings and their favorite teas. I am tickled to be a guest again. Thank you ladies for having me.

Links for their attractive tea settings will be found at the end of this post.

“Teatime is a chance to slow down, pull back, and appreciate our surroundings.”—Letitia Baldridge

We are enjoying a delightful tea time in the lake house’s dining room. This beautiful pumpkin tea cup is a gift from my daughter-in-love and it brings me joy with its charming pumpkin stem handle and delicate pumpkin leaves. Even the saucer is shaped like a pumpkin. You, too, have a place at the table. I found another pumpkin tea cup just for you! This one is just a little different, and its saucer is a pumpkin leaf.

Sharing a cup of tea with a friend is a beautiful chance to connect and savor life’s simple pleasures.

“If you have found someone to take tea with, then you have found a friend for life.” —Earlene Grey

I selected Pumpkin Spice tea from The Republic of Tea for us. It is flavorful with Black Tea, ginger, cinnamon, sweet blackberry leaves, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice. It will warm you on this chilly day.

Please help yourself to the Pumpkin Spice Scones I made just for us. They are pretty tasty and not too sweet. The little pumpkins are Italian Chocolates. We must never say no to chocolate. Correct?

You may add butter, Maple Pumpkin Butter, or Fig Jam to the scones. The treats go so well with the Pumpkin Spice Tea. I also included my version of clotted cream. I whip heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks are formed, then fold in 1/4 cup of sour cream along with 1-1/2 Tablespoons of confectioner’s sugar. Add more sugar if you like it sweeter. (There is no cooking involved.) This is definitely not clotted cream, but I like to pretend that it is.

Here is a closer look at our tasty toppings for our scones and today’s flavorful tea.

I gathered some beautiful flowers from our gardens at the lake house and added them to the mason jars in Sweet Man’s Tool Box. I combined Lime Light Hydrangeas and stems from our dogwood tree, then added a few faux stems and pumpkins for charm and orange vibrancy. We still have my Mom’s Mason Jars, which she used to can vegetables from her garden. They most likely are 60-100 years old. I had to use them in the centerpiece today. ❤️

After the white petals of the Dogwood Tree fall to the ground, the berries begin to emerge. Initially, they appear green and resemble tiny acorns. I love seeing them in today’s fall flower arrangement. As the fall season progresses, the berries transform into vibrant red berries.

The berries are seen in today’s centerpiece.

The red berries have begun to emerge on the Dogwood tree.

The creamer and sugar bowl were a delightful find on Etsy. I was so pleased when they arrived and knew they would go perfectly with the tea cups and the Pumpkin Teapot.

We all need a pumpkin teapot, right? 🧡

The bejeweled trinket box bird belonged to my mother-in-law. I know she is happy to see that I have set it out.

It’s finally warm enough to sit on the back patio and we can enjoy the rest of our tea by the fire.

There is room for us to set our Teacups on the potting bench.

What a beautiful day we had and such wonderful conversation. I’m so glad you joined me for tea.
