Hello and Welcome!

Another Tuesday has come! Welcome to another Tuesday Tidbits! Another busy week for us. There was a little decorating, family time, never-ending gardening, flower planting, visits with friends, boat cleaning, and even an evening around the fire pit. Simple Pleasures at their best! We even had a Once in a “Blue Moon” sighting!

Hello June!
June always feels like the month when summer finally settles in. The gardens are filling out, the flowers are blooming, and the days are long enough to enjoy an evening by the fire pit. It’s my favorite time of year. But somehow, even with all that, the to-do list hasn’t gotten any shorter. In fact, I think it’s growing. How does that happen?
Potting Bench
People often ask if I miss Arizona when I’m in Pennsylvania, or Pennsylvania when I’m in Arizona. The truth is, I have a little sanctuary in each place.
In Arizona, it’s my She Shed. It’s a space where I can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, and surround myself with things that make me smile. I love decorating it with seasonal touches, flowers, and treasures.

In Pennsylvania, it’s my potting bench. While much simpler, it serves the same purpose. It’s where I arrange flowers, sit and have a cold iced tea or cocktail and spend time on the back patio. Just like my She Shed, I enjoy adding little decorative touches that make it feel cute and all mine.
And this summer I have changed the potting bench up a bit. I decided to go with a Strawberry Theme until I change it again. I like to play when I am not busy with gardening and such.
Here She Is!

I shopped our house and grabbed everything red. I had strawberries, strawberry plates, and cups, etc. The only thing new are the pillow covers. I found those on Amazon. There are stories behind several pieces. I love birdhouses, so I placed them all on the upper shelf. The red mason jar came from a dear friend with a bouquet in it. The red wooden shoe was my Mom’s, and its match is in the sunroom. The strawberry plates are from Avon, and I got them last year from an antique store. That strawberry tray is old and from an antique store in the country, where there were lots of peacocks roaming the property. The small vintage red oil can was given to me by a blogging friend who lives here in town. The basket holding the terracotta pots was found at a garage sale, where the woman running it was in a bikini, a cigarette hanging from her mouth as she talked. She was the sweetest!😄

Do you have a special corner, room, garden bench, or outdoor space that brings you joy? I’d love to hear about it.
Cleveland, Ohio

I made a trip into Cleveland, Ohio. It’s about an hour and a half away. But guess who lives in Cleveland? Family! That’s who! I got to babysit my grandson! I had a blast! He will be two in July!

First Fire of the Season
We had our first fire in the fire pit. It was wonderful to relax and listen to music while watching the fire. It’s so very comforting.

Why Did You Start Blogging?

When I started this blog about 12 years ago, I had recently retired and was looking for a way to chronicle our adventures. I wanted to share the places we visited, the things we experienced, and the stories along the way. ALL OF OUR ADVENTURES needed to be recorded.
What I didn’t realize at the time was that it would also become a place to record all those in between moments—the gardens, the changing seasons, tea time, home decor, recipes, and the simple everyday things that make life so special. All those SIMPLE PLEASURES needed recorded too. This is like a digital journal for me. It helps me keep track of memories from a long time ago. Whenever I need to recall something from the past, I simply look it up in my search bar.
Then I decided to change my blogging to a weekly format that’s when Tuesday Tidbits was born.
I also began to grow a virtual family. The blogging community is quite special. When I started this blog, I thought I was creating a place to document our adventures. What I didn’t expect was the wonderful community that would grow from it. Over the years, many of you have become dear friends. Some of you I have met. And some of you, I often feel, we have met. We’ve celebrated happy times together, offered encouragement during difficult days, and shared pieces of our lives with each other. I’ve come to look forward to your visits and comments. I so enjoy our friendships. I really enjoy blogging and plan to continue.
Thank You!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my weekly posts—you all mean a lot to me!

Blogging Friends are Leaving
Lately, I’ve noticed several bloggers who have stepped away from blogging. Have you noticed that too? Some haven’t posted in months, while others seem to have disappeared altogether. Have they gone to Social Media instead? I sure do miss them.
Life has a way of changing our plans. Family responsibilities, health issues, busy schedules, and everyday demands can easily push blogging to the bottom of the list.
I really do miss those who have left. It’s like a family member packing up and moving out of town. I also wonder about those who never said goodbye. I hope they are okay.
For now, I’m grateful to still be here sharing my little corner of the world with all of you. Like I said earlier I do enjoy blogging and plan to continue. Thank you all for being here!
Happy June! Happy Summer!
