Hello Friends!
We are home after five days in Texas, and I have to say… I’m a little tired. My first day was a very long 14-hour travel day, and after arriving home late last night, I’m moving a little slower today.

I met sweet man in Texas. He arrived a day before me. My 14-hour day should have been 6 hours, but delays and an extra flight made it long and miserable.

However—
After that 14-hour travel day to Texas, I have to say, I’m still smiling about the 20,000 bonus miles that came out of it. Yes, I complained to the Airline. Sometimes you just have to find the silver lining!
It’s the Destination that is Beautiful!

What a lovely trip we had! I will share a few Texas pictures at the end of this post.
Happy Birthday Mom!
The highlight was celebrating Sweet Man’s mom as she turned 101 years young! What a blessing to be part of such a special celebration. There was family, laughter, and plenty of love to go around.

Monarchs Update!
They all became Monarchs!
My friend and I were so proud!
They were all released!

Thank You!
As for me, I think today calls for a little rest, a cup of coffee, and getting back into the rhythm of home.
Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing a little Texas love with me.
I will catch up with all of you very soon!

Totally agree about air travel being the worst part of travel, but happy to hear that they offered some recompense! A very Happy Birthday to your Mother in Law! Wow..a 101. I can only hope.
Congratulations on all your monarchs making it and being released! Yay!
Our nights are definitely cooler and our days are shorter … I am so not ready for winter, but will enjoy the beautiful colours of autumn while they remain. Wishing you both a relaxing week and looking forward to your pictures and posts next week.
Thank you Monica! The Birthday Girl loved her family time.
Air Travel tends to zap me as well. I am plumb tired! Lol! We did have lots of fun.
Thanks for the visit. It’s always so good to hear from you. Enjoy the pretty colors of fall.
Celebrating 101 years with 101 roses from a granddaughter’s family is such a beautiful way to mark that milestone, and turning a miserable 14-hour travel day into 20,000 bonus miles is a great example of finding the silver lining. The Monarchs update was a lovely bonus too — congrats on getting them all released, Nancy!
Thank you so much! The roses were all so beautiful! Thanks for stopping by and spreading kindness. Happy Fall! 🍂🧡🍂
Oh my goodness! All the best to all of you, Nancy Lou…especially the beautiful birthday girl. Sweet man has some awesome genes in his family! Sending loads of love! I hear you…it’s good to go…good to be home, too! Hope you have a great day. ❤️😉❤️
Good Early Morning to you gorgeous Vicki Lou! Thanks for all the love this morning. Happy Fall, Vicki Lou!🍂🧡🍂
Right back at you — big hugs! ❤️😉❤️
Travel doesn’t sound like fun, but the birthday celebration and local scenes sure do. 101 – wow. Happy, happy birthday!
Thank you Judy! It was a horrible travel day but we saw the Birthday Girl!
Thank you for the birthday wishes!
Happy Fall!🍂🧡🍂
101 roses for 101 years — what a thoughtful touch from her granddaughter’s family. A six-hour trip turning into fourteen is its own kind of endurance test, but getting to be there for that celebration makes it worth every delay. Congratulations to Sweet Man’s mom, and well done on the monarchs all making it to release.
Thank you so much! The roses were beautiful!
What joyful news, Nancy! The Monarchs are well and off on their migration❣️ Your migration journey to TX…not so joyful, goodness gracious! The lovely lady of 101 years is a delight and it’s so nice you all were there to make it so special. Enjoyed your photos and hill country.
Glad you are home safe and sound and perhaps able to enjoy a restful day or two. Take good care!
Thank you, sweet Sue! I slept like a baby last night!
The Birthday Girl was so delighted to have family surrounding her.
Thanks for all the love.
Happy Fall! 🍂🧡🍂
I can just imagine your exhaustion after that travel day! Have a good rest and recovery. It was fun to see the festivities for your MIL’s 101th birthday. I’d love to have the opportunity to help send 101 roses to someone (or 100, or 99 etc). Great idea!
It was a beautiful day! She enjoyed her family and telling stories of long ago. Thank you for enjoying. Happy Fall! 🍂🧡🍂
Yikes what a long trip, with those long hours you could have flown to Europe! Where in Texas, Nancy? Or should I ask where is Bourne? My Webster roots are Texan from my Dad’s side, mostly East Texas. Love those longhorn and deer! I am so happy about your monarchs!
Congrats to your mom, 101 years! Wow, she looks amazing! Enjoy your week and get some rest my friend 🙂
Thank you Terri! I fell asleep writing this blog post! Lol!
Boerne is near San Antonio and Fredericksburg.
So funny that I posted the deer and Longhorn before I knew about your challenge for Sunday Stills. Serendipity!
Happy Fall! 🍂🧡🍂
San Antonio is a nice area. So is Austin. Glad your images worked this week!
Happy Autumn, Nancy. A 14 hour travel day is exhausting! At least you received something in return! What a major milestone for Sweet Man’s mother turning 101. She looks amazing! Love the photos you shared from Texas. Yay for the monarchs! Hopefully some will come our way in October! Take care and get rested up for more adventures!
Thank you sweet Pam. I slept like A baby last night!
Thank you so much for the birthday Wishes.
Happy Fall! 🍂🧡🍂
Your birthday girl look real happy! Texas is super! Yay for the monarch’s success!
Indeed! And thank you Mitzy!
Happy Fall!
🍂🧡🍂
Eeks! You deserve those air miles- eight extra hours of travel time due to the airline? Not cool but at least you got something out of it. Happy Birthday to your MIL! A special celebration for sure (per the cake!). I hope the birthday girl felt lots of love. Your pictures of Texas are really good- I visited Texas for the first time ever earlier this year. Saw lots of longhorns though no deer :). I enjoyed reading your post- go get yourself some rest!!
REST INDEED!
We had A great visit and Momma V was surrounded by love. She enjoyed retelling stories of the past. Sweet memories!
Thanks for the visit dear friend. I enjoy your visits.
Happy Fall! 🍂🧡🍂
Nancy, I hear ya on the 14 hours…it can be exhausting! Congratulations on your MIL 101 Birthday! How sweet and thoughtful of the grand daughters to give her 101 roses. Were you staying with family or did you find B&B type lodging? We find we like to stay separately from family to not put a burden (tho they say it is not) on them as there is always extra curricular activities for the family as life does not stop because we come to visit. 🥰. For the last few years we have been using our motorhome but before that we would find quaint little B&B’s or at least nice hotels. I was so happy to hear about the monarchs…Yay! Enjoy your down time…I find that I need a little more of that after traveling, too. Have a grest and restful week.
Thanks for all the love, Kari!
We stayed with sweet man’s sister and brother in law. They have a 2 bedroom guest house or what they call a Casita. We are out of the way. We can enjoy coffee and breakfast without bothering them. It’s perfect! We love it! And so do they.
Happy Fall, Kari! 🍂🧡🍂
Air travel is certainly not the exciting adventure it used to be, but I’m glad you were able to be in TX for your MIL’s 101st birthday. Amazing. Now time to rest and gradually get back in the rhythm.
You said it all so perfectly!
I am feeling wonderful again!
Happy Fall! 🍂🧡🍂
How wonderful to be able to celebrate the beautiful 101 year old birthday girl, even through a miserable travel time in getting there! What a special way to honor your mother in law.
Yay for your monarchs, Nancy! You deserve some rest and comfort of home on this first day of autumn 🍂
Thank you Kitty. I had a very restful day!
Thanks for all the love.
Happy Fall! 🍂🧡🍂
Hello,
I LOVE that birthday girl! 101, that is amazing!! Praying for her and her family.
I love the rose idea.
We will be traveling to Texas in November. We have family that live in Caldwell, Texas.
I enjoyed the photos today.
Take good care!!
Carla
Thank you Carla! The roses were so beautiful! I look forward to your Texas pictures. The area we visit is near San Antonio. Thanks for all the love. Happy Fall! 🍂🧡🍂
Even when things go smoothly, traveling is just exhausting, so I can’t imagine 14 hours! It looks like you had a wonderful time in Texas with lots of celebrating and adventures! I hope you get the rest you deserve.
Thank you! Thanks for the visit. And yes, I am rested.
Welcome back! 101 years old is such an incredible milestone to celebrate – what an absolute blessing. It sounds like a beautiful trip between the celebration and getting a little taste of Texas. Take it easy and get some well-deserved rest!
Thank you Mary. It was a great trip except for my one very long day. I was thinking about you as I know you were near. Happy Fall! 🍂🧡🍂
Welcome home, although I wish you would have made it in time for the blogger meetup today. 101?!! Wow! Congratulations to the birthday girl! Yes, air travel just isn’t what it used to be. Congratulations on the monarchs and I also love seeing longhorns.
I bet you all had a lovely lunch! I will meet up with you very soon. Thanks for all the love. Happy Fall! 🍂🧡🍂
Such a nice blog with beautiful pics!!!
Thank you! Happy Fall! 🍂🧡🍂
What a wonderful trip, and what a milestone to celebrate! 101 years young is absolutely amazing. It looks as though Texas gave you plenty of beautiful memories. And congratulations on all those little Monarchs making it successfully to release!
Thank you so much Lisa. We had a wonderful time in Texas. I was also very happy to see the Monarchs made it!
Happy belated birthday to your mom! 101 years, that is so special! I really like Texas. It is a little too hot for me, but otherwise I could see myself living there. We have several relatives in Texas. Enjoy your time at home. After all, there is no place like home 🙂
Thank you Maria. Texas Hill Country is very pretty. I did not know you had lots of relatives there. Ours are in Boerne near San Antonio.
Happy Fall! 🍂🧡🍂
So sorry to hear of your flight troubles and it’s sad that that is starting to become the norm when it comes to airline travel. It looks like you had a lovely time in Texas. What a wonderful milestone to celebrate with family. I love the 101 roses idea.
Thank you Joanne. I agree, airline travel is not as fun as it used to be. The 101 roses were a fabulous idea!
Love these. Yikes a 14 hour travel day might do me in. I had one of those earlier in the summer, with many delayed flights. I just wanted to get home. What an amazing milestone birthday. Also loved your animal choices. Monarchs fascinate me and I love when people do what they can to increase the species.
Thank you Kirstin for the visit! It was great to hear from you.
101? Oh my! That definitely deserves a celebration and a big one! But I can imagine Texas was pretty warm and awfully far! I’m sure it felt wonderful to get back. Still, wouldn’t miss it for the world.
She was thrilled to be surrounded by family.
Thanks for the love!
