Hello! And Happy Summer to Each of You!
We are renovating the lake house and it can get to ya. We had to get away from all the Drywall Dust! So…we hopped into our “Get Away Van” and off to Maine we went. Good bye drywall dust!

How fun for us! I could just squeal! New England was a fabulous delight! I can only give you a sneak peek from what I captured with my iPhone. (I know… I know… I still have pictures from Europe to share and now, pictures from our Maine adventure. But guess what…all those pictures are still on my good camera. Time is of the essence for me right now with house renovations. I will post all the lovely pictures one day very soon! I promise.)
Okay, now back to what matters and that is this post! You All Must Travel To New England! There is so much to see and do!
Judy from New England and Garden and Thread would totally agree with me. When you click over to her sight you will see the beauty that she shares from there.
If this is your first time reading my blog… You need to know that my sweet, sweet man and I are rock hounds. Therefore, our first stop was Sterling Hill Mining Museum in New Jersey. Look at what we got to see!

I will be sharing more with you about the incredible Sterling Hill Museum in another post. There is so much to show you.
Since we were driving… we got to stop and take in the sights!

After a day of antiquing we stopped in Brattleboro, Vermont.
We found a great brewery along the Connecticut River. Whetstone Station. Their food and craft beer was delicious!
A great barn or two were seen…
We saw many churches with steeples but I am saving those for a special post!
The Lily’s were blooming in their full glory. I have to say they were everywhere! And we truly loved every single one of them.

Booth Bay, Maine was beautiful and we stayed right on the water.
When in New England a must is LOBSTER! I got to choose my Lobster that I ate for dinner.
Next stop was Bar Harbor, Maine.

Acadia National Park is located at Bar Harbor, Maine. What a spectacular park. We were able to explore it for two days. Some hiking took place…
We took a ride to the top of Cadillac Mountain to see this view…
Oh boy! It was so windy! No fans used here…
Jordon Pond at Acadia National Park is a peaceful place to relax and rejuvenate. It’s tranquil beauty will make you pause.
On our way out of Acadia… we stumbled upon wild blueberry picking! We had fun picking and nibbling right along with a few deer.
While traveling we must always enjoy the local samples of food. Of course I had to have a Lobster Roll and some Clam Chow-da!
But all good things must come to an end…
Back to the drywall…
This room has now been painted. Some after shots will be posted!
I sure hope you are having a wonderful summer. Make sure to get out and explore… no matter how busy you are. It’s the simple pleasures that make our lives whole!
What are you doing this summer? I would love to hear!
Sounds like a perfect escape from your renovation! Great photos.
Thank You… we really enjoyed Maine! Actually all of New England!
That looks like a great area. Someday i would like to see the east coast. If only to just eat lobster. Lol
I love lobster but it’s hard work! The Maine coast was outstanding!
I have traveled to many regions of the U.S., but not New England – it’s at the top of “I want to go to there” list! This post makes me want yo visit all the more. Beautiful pictures. Looks like a great adventure!
It was a quick but a very fun adventure! We will go back again.
I hope you can get there some day soon. The drive from this area to Bar Harbor can be done in one day… but take two or more and stop along the way. So much to see and do.
Beautiful photos! Looks like you had a great time. xoxo <3
We did! Thank you for the visit! 🙂

YOU are kidding me! That is too funny. You must try to go to Sterling Hill Mine if you like that sort of thing.
Thank you for the visit and enjoying the photos! 🙂
Yes- will try to go!
That is quite a get away- all the way to New England! Wonderful photos. We’ve been wanting to get to New England in fact my husband has a cousin in Connecticut. We love road trips and I’ve been all over the country but never there for some strange reason. What a wonderful get away.
Yes being here in Pennsylvania made it a bit easier to get there. A nice long drive to Bar Harbor with quite a few stops along the way.
I sure hope you can go some day! It is a special place to visit in this beautiful country of ours!
What a perfect way to take a break from your renovations. I would love to visit that area one day. Great photo essay! :))
Thank you my friend. I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE BACK!

Hey Clare! I have not been doing well getting caught up with all my blogging friends! We tend to be busy from Sun up to Sun down with this house.
That’s ok Nancy, you’ll catch up when you do get time. Sometimes ‘life’ is more important 🙂 I hope you’re having fun.
A blast!
Ha ha ha!!
This is so awesome.
We hiked up Cadillac Mountain the day after Acadia’s 100th year anniversary and were almost blown away. So worth it!!
Your photos are amazing!
Hello to you! Thank you for the compliment and the visit. I have been watching you on Instagram.
You got to hike up Cadillac Mountain. WOO HOO. I am very proud of all of you!!
What beautiful sites and beautiful photos! How exciting that you have paint on the walls. Often the simplest things are the best, aren’t they?
You got that right! Out buying a few accessories as we speak!
I wanna go! I wanna go! Great shots but that bridge one is my fave!
Mine too! Hoping your costume is coming out the way you want it!
I will reveal it Friday 😉
Hey, Nancy! It’s crazy, but I just found a bunch of your old comments on my blog (all the way back to January) that you left me and they were stuck in a Trash file. I never look in there and didn’t notice them, but I approved them and they are on the blog now. Thank you for always being such a sweetheart & leaving me such encouraging comments! I’m so happy that you have a new love too and get to travel with him. My sweetie loves NE and we want to go there together, maybe next year. I have never been and can’t wait to experience it with him. He’s told me all about those lobster rolls! We can’t wait to travel more together too. Enjoy your blog and thanks for sharing with me. And yes, I love interacting with you on Instagram! Thanks, friend!! Enjoy the rest of your summer. I’m heading to the beach next week after Haven is over to spend a few days with my guy and his family. Can’t wait!
OH RHODA I squealed when I saw your comment on my little ole blog! I want to shout from the highest mountain that Rhoda from Southern Hospitality posted on my blog! THANK YOU!
I am so glad you found all those comments. Because you know I have been following you since day one. Didn’y you start your blog back in 2009? In fact you were my first blog… as back then I had no clue what a blog was! HA HA!
I am so glad you have found a wonderful man. I love all his flowers he gives you and I see on Instagram. I too have a wonderful man… aka sweet, sweet man! He has been putting his blood sweat and tears into this Lake House!
Have a blessed day and I will be popping over to post a new and approved comment on your blog! 🙂
THANK YOU for stopping by my friend!!
Thank you so much for bringing back to me memories of Bar Harbor. Haven’t thought of the area in years. I bet you savored every bite of that lobster. Nancy, this is just a visually stunning photo and accompanying essay. My favorite photo is of the windblown Cadillac Mountain pose. Well done! Thank you. 🐞
Thank you my friend for visiting and enjoying our time there. We now both have delightful memories!
