Tuesday Tidbits #127 Bee-U-Tiful

Hello Friends! Welcome In!

Did you know May 20th is World Bee Day? I was reminded of this from Mary over at Home is Where the Boat Is. She had such a lovely post about it and I sure hope you click over to see what she shared.

Bees Pollinate

We need our bees as they pollinate 80% of our plants as well as 90 different food crops. Honey Bees visit 5,000 flowers in just one day! They collect the nectar and then take it back to the hive which then it’s made into Honey.

Honey Pot Collection

Speaking of Honey… I love it. I try to have a little bit of local honey everyday. And I need to store it, right? So why not have a collection of Honey Pots!

I have them here in AZ and also at the LakeHouse in Pennsylvania!

Our Arizona Breakfast Table.
Our Pennsylvania LakeHouse Kitchen. Do you spot a few honey pots?

I enjoy making vignettes with them in our kitchens.

Help Our Bees

1 Plant a Garden so that our Bees have a place to find nectar while they help pollinate. 2 Try not to use chemicals in your gardens. 3 Bees love trees so plant some. Trees provide a fabulous habitat for them. 4 I had no idea that Bees need water. By adding a small bowl filled with gravel or small stones and then water… the bees will land on the gravel/stones and will get a drink of water. And lastly, 5 Support your local Beekeepers. They make sure to love and nurture bees. You can support them by purchasing their honey and beeswax products.

Do you enjoy honey? Do you have a bee garden? Thank you for following along. It’s always a pleasure to hear from you. Wishing you a “beeutiful” week! 🐝

    1. Aren’t they the cutest? I love them too. I may have enough though, right? 😃
Bees are important and pretty much a lot of the veggies we eat are because of bees.
      Have a lovely Tuesday Beth.

  1. What a bee-utiful post.! You have a lovely collection of honey pots, Winnie the Pooh would be most impressed. I love honey and try to always buy local honey, it is supposed to help with my allergies. Have a wonderful day, my friend!🐝🐝🐝

    1. Oh the fragrance of the honeysuckle! How can bees resist?
Thank you for being Bee friendly.
      Have a good day Dawn.

  2. Your collection is charming, as is your display in the Arizona kitchen. However, my favorites are the little green glass cake/cupcake stand(?) and the even tinier green bear. Thanks for bee-ing bee-friendly!

    1. I’m so glad you enjoyed! Yes… that cute little green depression glass stand was a gift from a beloved friend! And so was the tiny bear! Two people who mean the world to me! Believe it or not, I even have a smaller knitted or crocheted bear then that.
Thank you so much for enjoying this post and taking the time to drop a few kind words. How nice of you! Happy Tuesday!

  3. What a delightful collection, Nancy. My favourite is the little green honey pot with the knitted Teddy Bear – it’s delightful and it looks like something Pooh would own 🥰

    1. I think Winnie and I would be great friends!
I’m so happy you enjoyed my friend.
Wishing you a lovely week Clare!

  4. My goodness, you do have quite a honey pot collection! So cute! I was inspired by Mary’s post and the Bee Tablescape blog hop too, and so I painted a bee pitcher and glasses…you will see them in action later this week!

    1. Oh I can’t wait to see them … Jenna.
You know I will want to do the same as you are always an inspiration to me.
      Happy Tuesday dear friend!

  5. I adore your honey pot collection and am gazing delightedly at the wonderful things on your white shelf. So pretty and cheerful. I spy lots of things there I like (and collect, too!).

The photos of the bees on the thistle are fabulous. Wonderful detail.

    1. I’m so glad you enjoyed! I have too many collections… 😳
Thank you so much and stay tuned… we will be at the LakeHouse soon!
      Enjoy your week!

  6. Beautiful photos, Nancy. Your Tuesday Tidbits are so cheerful! We kept bees for seven years when our children were young. We loved it, and the honey was perfect! I used to call our bird bath our ‘bee bath’ because it had so many bees in it all the time. I used to keep a big stick in it so the bees could crawl out, otherwise, they risk getting their wings too heavy with water and drown. One of our sons and his family just recently hived two swarms! So exciting. Bill & I don’t keep bees anymore, we just did get a HoneyPie though. Allow me to introduce you to her: ❤️❤️❤️ Blue Rock Horses Frederick County, Virginia bluerockhorses.com

Happy Farming and thank you for living our bees!
      Happy week to you!

  7. Your honey pots are absolutely beautiful. I think I need to keep a look out for some on these little treasures. Thanks for the reminder and sharing.

    1. Hello! I’m glad you enjoyed. They are fun to spot. Lots of beautiful handmade ones too.
      Happy World Bee Day! 😊🐝

  8. I’ve seen more honey bees in our yard this year than I have in a very long time. I’m so happy to have them! I want to plant flowers to draw even more in. There’s nothing better than fresh local honey. 🙂
