Goodbye Munich… Hello Oberammergau

Munich was beautiful! Before we left we visited a “suburb” that has special meaning to Sweet Man. We took the Subway, the S or also called the S-Bahn to Ismaning. We got the Subway down under the city… I could not believe the city under the city in Munich! Miles of stores and people… everywhere!

We found our Subway and we were off to Ismaning. A beautiful day was spent… even with a picnic! Ismaning was a lovely community.

We said our Goodbyes to Munich. And hopped on the train to go through the Bavarian Alps to Oberammergau, Germany.

What beautiful scenes we saw along the way.

It felt good to get to our new Home Away From Home. This Place was not only beautiful but very convenient! Located right across the way from the Train and bus station! Sweet Man did very well choosing this place.

Here and in Munich as well… they made the beds this way.

The bedding was amazing!

Our outside view from our patio was a Wildflower Garden.

So many pretties were growing in this garden.

After getting settled in …It was time to walk into town which was very close.

Along the way we saw beautiful sights!

The town of Oberammergau was charming. So much beauty around every corner!

After walking around… it was time to eat!

We had a fabulous dinner here.

Wiener Schnitzel for me…

And a Combo platter for sweet man.

The details were quite beautiful in this old Hotel/restaurant.

We walked home and then we checked out where we were to have Breakfast the next morning. We stayed in the new guest house of Gasthaus Richter. Therefore in the morning we needed to walk over here… which was just behind our place.

The first day in Oberammergau did not disappoint! I was amazed of all the beautiful flowers everywhere.

It was so nice to share our first day in Oberammergau with you. Thank you kindly for visiting. Please come back on Tuesday as I will share a little more of Oberammergau and also our visits to the Castles in the area!

Until Next Time~ Nancy

  3. I’m glad ypou enjoyed Oberammergau – and the train ride there – so much. It’s a gorgeous landsacpe and a beautiful city, isn’t it? But you were lucky with the weather. Btw, I’ve never been to Oberammergau myself. I only passed through – along the Ammer – on a bicycle ride once.
    Looking forward to more posts.
Oh, btw, you seem to be like Mary: having Wiener Schnitzel most of the times! 😉
