Good Tuesday to you, friends!
I have something for you!
In my previous post, I left you at this beach. We did continue exploring but had to get our rental car back to Eugene, Oregon.
So off we went, headed East. We stopped along the way, of course.
We enjoy exploring, as you never know what you will see next!
After coming out of one forest, we were greeted by a big smile from another forest!
Seattle, Washington
We dropped our rental car off in Eugene, Oregon, and the next day we headed to the Eugene Amtrak station. We were disappointed to hear that our train to Seattle was canceled due to a mudslide, but a bus would get us there. A few hours later, we were in Seattle, Washington.
We stayed at a 100- year -old luxurious hotel in Uptown Seattle called the Marqueen.
We had an overnight stay here at the Marqueen before we went back to the Seattle Union Station Amtrak station in the morning to catch the train to Vancouver, Canada.
We enjoyed our stay at the Marqueen Hotel. This old hotel has vintage beauty around every corner. Because of its age, there wasn’t an elevator, but the bellhops helped us with our luggage. There were restaurants close by and a coffeemaker in the room. We were set!
Seattle Union Station Amtrak Station
Our train to Vancouver was on time as well. The proper authorities checked our passports, and our tickets were given to us. We wanted to board the train as quickly as possible to sit on the side where we could see the Pacific Ocean and Puget Sound.
We have wanted to try the Amtrak train, and we are happy to say that we enjoyed it very much! We would travel this way again.
There was so much to see out our window.
Vancouver Canada
We stayed in a lovely part of town.
Chinatown was very close to our Hotel and we enjoyed a great meal before heading back to the USA the next day.
It was quite an adventure. We enjoyed Vancouver very much.
This adventure was a whirlwind of a trip. Our goal was to see Oregon and its gorgeous coast and ride the Amtrak train. Both were on our bucket lists. We enjoyed both very much and hope to take pleasure in both again.

What a fun trip! I love the Pacific Northwest. Such beauty everywhere! I’m curious to know when the MarQueen Hotel was built. First, I thought you might have added an extra zero and meant 40-year old instead of 400-year old, but it’s surely older than that. Is that a typo? Just wondering, haha! Thanks for sharing your terrific photos. And the smile on the mountain is awesome!!!

Nancy, wow the cactus bloom is amazing! I have enjoyed traveling along on this trip and seeing your gorgeous photos. We had a wonderful trip several years ago to Seattle and a ferry trip to beautiful Victoria. I always look forward to your Tuesday Tidbits!
We have been to Victoria before, and it’s why we decided it was the perfect time to take a trip on a train and why not to Vancouver, Canada!

Gorgeous cactus bloom, Nancy! Wow, your PNW trip was amazing. Your photos are exquisite! I looked twice at the greenish waters earlier in the post–the scene looks just like our river area of Nine Mile Falls! Seattle and Vancouver look so inviting, we really need to get over there, we’re so close. Love the idea of the train. Thanks for sharing your trip!
We really enjoyed the train! We rode them in many parts of Europe and enjoyed it, so why not the USA?

What a wonderful trip! I would definitely give up an elevator to stay in that beautiful hotel. I think Amtrak might be a fun way to travel. It looked like such a nice, clean train car. I see you got some blue skies on your trip. That was a nice break for you.
Yes, the forecast said it would rain all week, but it only rained one day. How wonderful for us!

What a fabulous trip! The scenery — gorgeous. And Union Station was SO CLEAN! I’m not used to seeing bright train stations like that! Vancouver and Seattle both look lovely and I suspect that it may have only inspired you to one day return and spend more time in one or the other!

Nancy, this trip was way more than a tidbit! What a great adventure. You were exploring the life of my young adulthood. My first husband was from Mt. Vernon, WA, moved to Seattle – so we spent a lot of time there and going to Vancouver. Then we moved to Cottage Grove, OR from Portland, and lived just 20 miles south of Eugene for several years – loved it! Yet, in all of our explorations, I had never seen much of what you shared in this magnificent post. Thanks for sharing, Nancy. 🙂
