Tuesday Tidbits #292 Joys of the Season

Today, I woke up to the gentle patter of rain. It was soothing. The rain was much needed, so its presence was definitely comforting. This comfort brought an Autumnal feeling to me, only to realize it was the second day of Fall.

Happy Fall

A little bit of color is beginning to show in the trees.

How about in your neck of the woods? Are the leaves starting to change? Has the harvest begun?

A beautiful harvest!

Are the Asters blooming for you? That’s another convincing sign that Fall season is here.

Bees enjoy the Wild Asters.

The transformation of trees is not the only display of changing colors; the soybean fields are also undergoing a beautiful transition.

Golden soybean fields.

Today is the first day in a long while that the temperatures have not felt like July. I wore a sweatshirt to collect chestnuts from the neighbor’s tree. It felt refreshing to experience a change in the weather and embrace the simple joys of the season. Has Fall arrived for you?

These are the chestnuts that the squirrels and chipmunks did not get!

Our Cruise

Point Prim Lighthouse

I made a promise to share more pictures of our amazing cruise. Some of you were curious to see the inside of this magnificent lighthouse. Climbing to the top was quite a feat, with its exceptionally steep and tight stairs.

Going up!
Looking down.
Here, we had to climb this steep ladder to the top.
Great views from the top.

The Light!

Once I was back on the ground floor, I could take a picture of the Fog Horn.

The handle needed to be cranked, and then the horn would sound.

Quebec City

We started our cruise in Quebec City. We went a few days early and stayed at Hotel Port Royal.

We highly recommend this hotel. It’s in the heart of Old Quebec City and close to the port if you need to get on a cruise ship.

I found Quebec City to be romantic and full of European charm.

Next week I hope to share Peggy’s Cove of Nova Scotia.

Embracing Fall

Embracing the beauty of fall is easier for some who are surrounded by the vibrant colors of nature. (That’s me!) However, for others, it can be challenging if they live in areas where the weather remains hot.

Sometimes, adding seasonal mugs for your morning coffee adds a certain amount of surprise. Spread some apple or pumpkin butter onto your breakfast toast. How yummy and fall-delicious! Then, add a few pumpkins here and there, and you are embracing Fall while enjoying the joys of the season.

Thank You

It’s been another fly-by week full of fun.

I hope you get to enjoy the seasonal change.

As I always try to convey, we certainly appreciate all of you. Thank you for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

Just a Peek! Here he is! Our grandbaby!

We are wishing all of you a wonderful week ahead. Enjoy what this upcoming week brings to you. And whatever you have planned… make every day count and be thankful for your Blessings.

  1. Thank you for the cruise photos, autumn at home and, of course … the grandbaby! The temperatures have fallen a bit and I spot leaves changing here, too, Nance, and I’m embracing the change to autumn, indeed. Happy last week of September to you and Sweet Man.

  2. Your sounds wonderful Nancy and congrats for climbing up into the light house, the view from the top was worth it! Fall looks beautiful at the lake, and needing a sweatshirt must have felt very cozy. We are still experiencing summer temps in the South, but the leaves are falling, but we won’t see color until mid Oct. I have started decorating for fall but am waiting until it gets cooler to buy pumpkins. Your grandson is so precious. Have a great week!

    1. I love buying pumpkins! And did so. But the cooler weather is when I buy them.
Thank you for enjoying the pictures and our little sweetie!
Enjoy the rest of your September!

  3. I dunno what I love more…the peek at the golden hues on the top of the trees, your fabulous photos from your cruise or the glimpse of the grandbaby! Wow! Thanks for all, Nancy. Enjoy the raindrops, too. 🥰

    1. It’s another soft rain day!
Thank you so much for enjoying all the love I shared today. Enjoy your Tuesday and I hope you sleep through the night tonight. 🙂

  4. Oh look at that happy grand baby! You are blessed, Nancy! I see Autumn had made an appearance there. I love using my fall dishes and coffee mugs to celebrate the season, not to mention a dollop of pumpkin spice creamer for my coffee. I stocked up on local pumpkin butter last year and happily using them.

Wow, your cruise ports of call look amazing. Did you cruise on the lake or in the Atlantic? My hubby wants to visit Europe (again) , but I think there are plenty of amazing places to see in North America.
Have a wonderful week, my friend! 🍁🍂

    1. We cruised the St. Lawrence River to the Atlantic Ocean and also the Bay of Fundy.
Thank you for enjoying the pictures and my grandbaby!
      Enjoy the rest of September!

  5. Oh, your adorable little grandson is growing and his smile is precious. I know you are the moon being a grandmother 💙 We will be in the 90’s today but a cool down is expected tomorrow with rain coming from the potential hurricane. Wow, that climb in the narrow stairway would have made me claustrophobic! But the view, was worth it! Old Quebec City has been on my bucket list, and it may have just moved up my list with your amazing photos! I can’t wait to see more photos from your cruise. Wishing you a wonderful first week of autumn, my friend 🍂

    1. I would go back to Quebec City in a heartbeat! It was so charming.

Thank you for enjoying all the love I shared today.
And how about that smiling grandbaby!

      Enjoy the rest of September.

  6. We’ve had very similar weather here in Michigan. Summer held on but fall weather arrived right on time. We really could use a little more rain. You grandson has a beautiful smile!
I just revisited your hot air balloon ride post. I went for a ride earlier this month. What a wonderful experience! If you have a chance you can read about it on my blog.

    1. I am glad you are experiencing fall just like us. It’s lovely. I hope rain comes your way.
I loved my hot air balloon ride and will read about yours very soon.
      Thanks for the visit.

  7. Hi Nancy — thanks for popping over today. Your trip looks fabulous. Isn’t Quebec City the best? I need to return again — much to see and do, or just sit on a bench and soak up the atmosphere! Your pix were lovely reminders! We are seeing bits of fall here in mid-Michigan and I suspect when we go north tomorrow to close, we will see much more. It’s always ahead of us there and the days have taken a wee turn to the cool and damp. Have a wonderful week!

    1. It is always so good to hear from you, Jeanie.
Yes, Quebec City is charming. I am so glad you have been there.
Thank you for all the love today. Enjoy the rest of September.

  8. Nancy, your grandbaby is absolutely beautiful! That smile is so precious. I have enjoyed seeing all of the photos from your trip. You are braver than me. I don’t know if I would have been able to climb up into that light house. Our temperatures are starting to cool off a little here. It was 55 when I woke up this morning. It was so nice! I hope you have a most wonderful day and rest of your week!

  9. Having trouble commenting…hope this one goes through. Love the smile on your cute grandson, it has to melt your heart. Looks like you had wonderful weather in your ports of call.

  10. I’m so sorry it’s taken me so long to get back here, Miss Nancy. I did read your post through the week and admired all your gorgeous photos, as well as adored the photo of your beautiful grand baby (what a ☺️), but Dean interrupted me, hailing me to join him in the back garden where we’ve been working (and working, and working) and I just realised I didn’t tell you I was here, reading, and admiring everything. So I’m here now, reading, and admiring everything as usual 🤣 Have a great week, see you (on time) next week 🥰

    1. Oh, sweet Clare, I know how busy our lives can be. I also know how you have been redoing the garden.
I am glad you popped over, no matter the day.
Thank you for all the love!

Thank You So Much... for sharing your kind words. I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to share your thoughts.
