Tuesday Tidbits #293 October Has Come

Hello Folks

Our Sunday evening Sunset.

As we all know, many states have been affected by Hurricane Helene. The devastation and loss of life is heart-wrenching. Many people and places need our prayers and our help.

My neighbor’s hibiscus is still blooming.

I was on the phone with my sister and brother-in-law, who live on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Thank goodness they were not impacted by Helene as they are still dealing with problems from Hurricane Ian.

Due to rain, mushrooms are growing in our garden. These are very tiny, about half an inch in size.

I was also glad to see that many of my virtual friends are safe.

In moments like this, I find solace in nature’s therapeutic embrace. I take bike rides or go for a walk to let nature soothe me.

Even working in our yard helps.

Zinnias are still going strong!

Peggy’s Cove

I promised to share some pictures from Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia. What a beautiful place.

These are the vintage lobster traps. They do not use them anymore.

These are the lobster traps they use currently.

A beautiful area.

William E. deGarthe Memorial Monument. Carved granite as a tribute to the fisherman and their families.

As we left Peggy’s Cove to return to our ship in Halifax, I noticed these beautiful areas.

Taken from inside our bus going 60 miles an hour.

The breathtaking views of Peggy’s Cove and the surrounding area left us in awe with every turn.

October

It’s my birthday month! And it’s time for everything pumpkin.

Have you made this cake yet? It’s perfect for the season. A crowd pleaser! You can find the recipe here.

This was my bulletin board in my Fall Classroom when I taught 12 years ago. All my classes made the art on the bulletin board.

Thank You

As I sign off, we pray for those suffering from Helene. Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this horrible storm.

As I always try to convey, we certainly appreciate all of you. Thank you for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

  6. Glad to hear your friends are safe. I own a cabinet refinishing company here in Greenville, SC. Part of our service area encompasses Asheville and it’s been devastating to see some of the effects the storm had there. But it’s also been incredible to see how people can come together to create something new and help those in serious need.

    1. I am glad you are safe from the storm. Our prayers continue for everyone affected by Helene and now we need to pray for those in the path of Milton.
      Thank you for your visit.

  7. Thank you for this post. Positive thoughts and energies to everyone from Florida to points northward inland and along the eastern seaboard. 🙏

  8. I always look forward to October and all the beauty it brings! The colors, the cozy vibes, and the little adventures you shared are just perfect. Balancing work and life can be a challenge, especially as a busy carpet cleaner, but posts like this remind me to slow down and appreciate the season. Thanks for the lovely reminders and the inspiration!

Thank You So Much... for sharing your kind words. I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to share your thoughts.
