Tuesday Tidbits #306 It’s Here!

2025 is Here!

Hello Friends! I hope your new year has had a fantastic start!

I’m taking my time to ease into the New Year! We’ve packed up Christmas, and while it wasn’t as much as in the past, it still feels good to tidy up. Since Sweet Man is recovering from his knee replacement surgery, I knew I’d be on my own for lifting things up to the attic.

All the red is gone and is replaced with whites and greens to accent the rich brown tones.

Because we live here for 6 months at a time, I have given up on real plants. So, faux plants make me happy.

Do you make New Year Resolutions?

I’m not one for making resolutions—I’m happy with who I am and feel like I give my all in everything I do. I’m always looking to improve but refuse to set myself up for failure with unrealistic expectations.

I will consistently bring more joy to our lives and ensure that negativity has no place at our doorstep. We will continue to live like we have been because it’s incredible. Why change that?

Fun on our favorite lake!

This brought us joy! A friend dropped this off at our doorstep. She makes these with chandelier crystals and a solar light. We love it when it lights up at night!

We cherish our gardens. The vibrant colors of flowers elevate our spirits, and gardening offers us therapeutic restoration.

Life is Good!

So we aren’t changing a thing.

Here’s to working on what we already have.

Happy New Year!

  1. Good morning, Nancy. Wishing you a joy-filled 2025! Your two homes and gardens offer much beauty. I love seeing how different your two places are. You are certainly energetic in being the keeper of two gardens that seem to thrive with your touch. A handsome grandson is a wonderful blessing that I know you are enjoying! I look forward to each Tuesday Tidbits!

  2. Looks like life is going just fine especially with that little guy in your life. The absolute best job in the world is grandparenting. It doesn’t get any better. Love your photos, and I really, really like your solar light. I applaud your friend’s ingenuity. I can’t imagine how she did it, but I sure like it. 🙂

  3. Oh my goodness, what a cutie patooty and great way to start the New Year! We really do resolutions either, just the best that we can every day…a lesson we are adapting to as we get older. I really like your greens and whites with wood, so refreshing. We did get most of the Christmas decorations put away, but I needed a little bit more time with greens and Scandinavian wooden mushrooms that have the red tops with white dots. We have had a lot of snow and ice so kind of hunkered down. Hope your hubby is doing well! Thanks Nancy for posting such inspirational and happy posts…your flowers and oranges are fantastic. Happy New Year!

  4. You certainly have the right attitude Nancy. I agree about not making resolutions but living your life as best as one can. Happy New Year my friend.

  5. Happy New Year Nancy. I don’t have typical resolutions, but I think the start of a New year is a good time to set goals. But not of the new year New me kind

  6. What a fun post, Nancy. In the past I have made New Year’s resolutions, and I jumped on the “Word of the Year” bandwagon for a few years. This year, however, I find the turning of the calendar to 2025 a good time to be contemplative, but I like your philosophy. (Except for exercise: I walk everyday, but I need to be more faithful with strength training for bone health. Instead of making it a resolution, I will DETERMINE to improve in that area. 😉 I’ve done it before; I can do it again! 👏) Happy 2025!

Thank You So Much... for sharing your kind words. I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to share your thoughts.
