Tuesday Tidbits #238 An All Day Rain

It’s a rainy day today—the kind of day where you light candles and settle in for a long lazy day. I do need this slothful day. We had friends and family gather here this past weekend for a big delicious meal I prepared for them. (Many dishes were what my Mom used to make here at the ole Homestead.) My darling sister brought her homemade stuffed cabbage to add to the delicious spread I had put together. It was all so very tasty! I also baked two homemade pies with my homemade pie crust for our dessert. One was peach, and the other one was pumpkin. I may have a piece of the peach tonight! There are two pieces left; guess who gets the other piece? So today, I am enjoying a lazy day of summer inside! How sweet it is!

Cozy lazy day in our living room!

Speaking of lazy days of summer. We enjoyed a few rides in the country, some back patio sitting, a visit to Lake Erie, and a group of us went to a winery to listen to our favorite local band. It’s great to be retired… because how could we work and do all that we do and enjoy these lazy days of August?!

“Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer. Those days of soda and pretzels and beer. Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer. Dust off the sun and moon and sing a song of cheer…” ~song by Nat King Cole

The August haze made the sun look like a big red beach ball in the sky.

Country Ride

We went to visit my favorite red barn last week!
I love seeing the flower boxes on each window!

Do you remember when I shared this barn on a wintry day?

A beautiful winter wonderland!
Sweet Corn a Plenty!
Hay!

Patio Sitting

We enjoy Our Quiet Place. Sweet Man engraved this rock!
My potting bench works well as a place to hold our soft drinks or cocktails!
Hosta Love!
Back patio fires are the best!

Lake Erie

One of the rocky areas of Lake Erie!
Such a beautiful creek that flows into Lake Erie.

Arundel Winery

Arundel Winery is where we went with friends to see our favorite local band.

Inside Arundel Winery we saw the local band named Highlife.

Lake Erie Wine Country is found along the shores of Lake Erie. It’s a beautiful place to relax.

Screech!

Oh, and here is yet another reason I am in need of a lazy day. One night this past week I had difficulty sleeping due to a screeching noise outside our bedroom window and off in the distance. It went on for hours. I thought it was a Screech Owl, but after some Google research, I discovered it was raccoons. Who knew raccoons screech??? Apparently, they do so during mating season! The raccoon screech is an awful sound that reminded me of a peacock’s dreadful screech. Yes, indeed, Miss Nancy is enjoying the laziness of today!

Make Sure to Enjoy the Lazy Hazy Days of August!

We indeed have and will continue to do so! Sitting outside on the patio or on the boat are always a place to relax and rewind for us. I hope you can find a special place to do the same.

That’s all I have for you today.

Thank You!

As I always try to convey… we certainly appreciate all of you. Thank you for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

We wish all of you a wonderful week ahead. Enjoy what this upcoming week brings to you. And whatever you have planned… make every day count and be thankful for your Blessings.
