Tuesday Tidbits #314 Marching Into Spring

March Has Come

And Spring Will Surely Arrive Soon

We Hope!

This clover grows in our gardens at our summer home. My Mom planted the clover 50+ years ago! It will bloom in a few months.

With the turning of the calendar page we find ourselves already in March. I wish I could slow down time but that’s impossible.

However, we have great news! The new calendar page brought Spring which officially arrived March 1st according to meteorologists!

Let Spring Begin!

Before we know it, beautiful flowers will be blooming all around us.

In our Pennsylvania yard, the very first sign that Spring has arrived is when the lovely Snowdrops start to bloom!

Here in AZ the first signs of Spring are when the citrus trees bloom.

And also when the orange mallow blooms along with the purple lantana.

March Brings Even More!

We have lots to celebrate in March.

The First is Fat Tuesday.

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, so today we enjoy Fat Tuesday, where many people indulge in treats before giving them up for the Lenten season until Easter. I am not one to overindulge, but I will enjoy a Paczki today! When living in Cleveland, Ohio, I learned about this sweet delicacy. A Paczki is a delicious Polish donut.

Paczki

In the Midwest, especially in Ohio, the Polish delicacy is found in every bakery and grocery store on the day before Ash Wednesday. It is a treat that many look forward to each year on Fat Tuesday.

Out here in the Southwest they are harder to find. But sweet man somehow makes sure I get my Paczki each year!

Yum!

St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day is another day to look forward to in March.

We will start the day with Irish Soda Bread.

I will make a crockpot of Corned Beef, cabbage, and red potatoes to cook slowly all day for dinner. But for lunch, we will head out for Reubens and a green beer or a Guinness.

It’s a Lucky Day of delicious fun!

One year, I made Irish Cream. You can read about it Here and also get the recipe to make your own.

Another treat I will try to make sometime in March are homemade Potato Pancakes.

They are so good!

Spring Vignettes

I absolutely love sprucing up our home for Spring! It’s such a delightful way to bring new life and freshness to our place.

We are ready for St. Patrick’s Day! 💚

Spring tea!

Are You Ready for What March Brings?

Have you had a Paczki? Do you wear green on St. Patrick’s Day and celebrate by eating corned beef?

I hope I got you excited about what March will bring. Whatever you plan make it simple and make it fun!

Thank You

Enjoy planning your March Celebrations.

As I always try to convey… we sure do appreciate all of you. Thank you for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

Happy March!
