Arizona Living

Hello… and Happy Sunday Friends!

Are you ready for some

SOUTHWEST LOVE!

Many people think the desert is brown. We live in the Sonoran Desert here in amAZing Arizona. It’s far from Brown! I hope I can make you think otherwise?

Spur Cross Trail Cavecreek, Arizona

And yes… we have lakes here as well…

Watson Lake Prescott, Arizona
Lake Havasu, Arizona

When taking a walk at our town center I saw many visiting ducks.

When you head out into the back country… there’s nothing like seeing our wild Burros. I just love them.

But then again …there’s nothing like our Wild Horses. I caught them when they were sleepy.

We also have our share of grazing cattle…

Once in a while a coyote will cross your path. I love this one’s coloring.

We love our saguaros. Pronounced suh-wah-roes. And our wide open spaces!

Looks like we are gettin’ ready for a meetin’…

Sharp vegetation that sure is beautiful!

How about Rocks?

Have you ever seen so many rocks before?

We’ve got ROCKS!

Tall ones…

Pretty colored ones…

Red ones…

and these unbelievable wavy ones!

And don’t even get me started on flowers!

So how do you like our desert? We sure love it!

  1. Nancy, your Sonoran Desert is breathtaking, every image is truly stunning. Watson Lake, the wildlife (wild horses), the flowers are all beyond amazing! Thank you for taking me for a ride this morning in the comfort of my chair and a cup of steaming coffee,

    Happy Sunday dear one❤️

    1. Thank you Pam! We do enjoy it here. The weather right now is perfect. The best time to hike and have fun in the desert!

Happy Sunday to you too…my dear one! ❤️

  2. I like ‘your’ dessert and your photos could be picked up by the AZ tourism they are so beautiful especially the one with the road going down the center. 🙂 I’ve only been to Phoenix a couple of times and must admit it didn’t call to me. 🙂

    1. It’s because you didn’t let us take you to the Back Country… lol!
We are so blessed to live in a country where we have so many beautiful sights! Oceans, lakes, purple mountains majesties and sunsets/sunrises that never get old.
I am so happy you enjoyed being here this morning… we shared a cup of coffee together. 😊
Have a beautiful Sunday my friend!

    1. Thank you! And best of all… we have our health so we can get out there and enjoy it all! Thanks for always enjoying and leaving such kind words. Hugs! ☺️

    1. It’s a different world. But that’s what is so wonderful about our beautiful country… we are truly blessed with beauty East to West and North to South!

Thank you for the visit! 😊

  3. Such gorgeous pictures for this Sunday, Nance! You live in a such a beautiful place! I know you must enjoy it so! Happy Sunday, sweet friend!

  4. Thanks for the photos, enticing me to come and see Arizona – again. But there was no enticement necessary, as very likely Mary and I will be back this autumn, among other things to finally get our 10+ miles on a bicycle in that state. The – tentative yet – plan is to stay in Tusayan and bicycle the Grand Canyon Greenway, plus a longer visit to the Grand Canyon than we were able to enjoy last September. And another visit to Sedona will – hopefully – be possible, too.

      1. We are really looking forward to that, especially Mary because she was so handicapped when we were there last September. Now – hopefully – she’ll really be able to enjoy it.

    1. Oh How you? I need to stop by and see how things are going with you!

Thank you for the visit! And I know how much you enjoy AZ… but now you have new places to explore! 😊

    1. How about those critters! I should have shown photos of our Owl who comes to visit at times!

Thank you for your kind words and for the visit!

      1. Owls are a winner. I like how the cow is red like the rocks in Arizona. When we were on our way to San Diego in November, west of Phoenix, there was this huge cloud of what looked like smoke. As we drove over a large arroyo we could see that it was a heard of horses running in the arroyo raising a huge cloud of dust. It would have been a great photo from the right location. It was too late to get a photo of it by the time we saw the horses.

    1. Well Thank You So Much Betty! How kind of you!

Yes the desert sure is a lovely place! It’s like a gift… once you start to unwrap it… you see what beauty is within! 😊

Thank you for stopping by! 😊🌵

  5. It is stunning and gorgeous Nancy! I loved seeing the wild burros and horses {the coyote not so much!} And cactus, I LOVE love love cactus!! I know there is always so much to see and do there, thanks for sharing!

  6. You do our state great justice!! Awesome pics….I see you got Lake Watson in Prescott!! Stunning capture! I love Prescott with the town square and courthouse in the middle. I f=grew up in a small town in Iowa that had the same thing. Not something you expect in an Arizona town! I recommend Sharlot Hall Museum in Prescott if you guys haven’t done that yet! Great post!!

    1. Thank you Kirt. We will investigate that museum!

Prescott Square is gorgeous… all the seasons! Plus Prescott has a few other lakes that are also quite lovely.

Thanks for stopping in! Happy Sunday to you!

    1. Thank you so very much! Thank you also for following along! There’s a little bit of everything over here at Two Trails One Road!

    1. Thank you for your kind words. I’m glad I brought back great memories for you! Hope you are able to come back and see the area again. 😊
