Tuesday Tidbits #222 Exploring At Its Best

Adventure Time!

We had a fun week over here at Two Trails One Road. An adventure was had. The day after Easter, we flew to Eugene, Oregon, where we rented a car and drove to the Oregon Coast. It was a whirlwind of five days, but we covered a lot of ground and saw so much! I am so thankful for Sweet Man as he planned this whole trip!

This picture was from our second day on the coast at Newport Beach, Oregon. On the first day, we had nothing but rain!
This click was from our first day. No walks on the beach this day! It rained the whole day. Sorry for the glare as I took this through the car window.
Once we arrived at the Eugene, Oregon airport, I had to get my picture taken with an Oregon Duck!

Even though it was raining, it didn’t dampen our spirits. We saw wet but beautiful scenery.

The more we traveled in Oregon, the more we saw trees covered in moss or lichen.

We were amazed by how many trees were covered in moss!
Just one more! 💚

The following picture isn’t moss, but it was one of the many small waterfalls we drove by in Oregon. I treasure times like these. Even though it happened quickly, we both saw it and enjoyed the moment together.

A quick drive-by picture. We were headed for the coast, so no time to dillydally!

Our Condo

Sweet Man found an excellent waterfront condo at the beginning of our trip at Little Creek Cove in Newport Beach, Oregon. It was comfy, cozy, and it came with a beautiful view!

We stayed downstairs.
Awesome view!
Cozy!

Waking up to this view was incredible. We enjoyed our tea while we watched the waves roll in.

This was the view from our living room.
💙

The Oregon Coast is known for its incredible views, rugged coast with seaside cliffs, and of course, its lush surroundings. There are lots of rocky shores that greet you with dramatic crashing waves!

A few miles North of our Condo, still in Newport Beach, was The Yaquina Head Lighthouse. It was established in 1873 and is Oregon’s tallest lighthouse.

The Yaquina Head Lighthouse.
Beautiful!

We happened upon Devil’s Punchbowl while looking for a restaurant for dinner. While walking up to the area, you can not see anything because it’s completely hidden. Then suddenly it appears! We were astonished by how large the “punchbowl” was!

When it’s high tide, this natural wonder fills up and resembles a punch bowl. It most likely was created by two sea caves collapsing. Incredible!

We had to stop and take a picture of this yard and all it’s decorations!

Wow!

The following day before leaving, we walked on the beach. There’s nothing that soothes your soul more than walking on the shore.

Fogarty Creek flows into the ocean.
Dramatic crashing waves!
Sweet Man found this strange seaweed.
It’s actually called Bull Whip Kelp. 😳

Our adventure didn’t stop at the beach on the Oregon coast, but I will save the rest of our adventure for next week’s Tidbits. There is so much more to share.

Thank You

As I always try to convey… we certainly appreciate all of you. Thank you for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

Sightseeing at its best!

Wishing all of you a wonderful week ahead. Enjoy what this upcoming week brings to you. And whatever you have planned… make every day count and be thankful for your Blessings. Stay safe out there my friends!

      1. No worries, Miss Nancy – BTW I did finish that post about ‘that’ picture (as promised). I think you must have been in Oregon when I published it (April 12). Sorry for the shameless self promotion, but you did say you were interested in learning more about that photo 🥰

  11. Nancy, what a fabulous trip your Sweet Man planned for the two of you. I love seeing the moss on the trees, the bright green is so pretty. The condo looked great with wonderful views. Butch and I traveled part of the Oregon Coast while on a trip to Seattle a few years ago. We found it to be so beautiful. We drove to Cannon Beach and then to Tillamook. We did that in one day!I just didn’t know it was so lovely. I can’t wait to see more! Enjoy your week!

  13. What a great adventure, Nancy! I feel bad; however, because I already commented on this post shortly after you posted it via my phone. Along with many of the others following… I am SO SORRY I have no idea why they all dropped. 😳 I am going to go back through and check them all.
