Well, Let’s call me GG!
Yes! I am a Grandma! And Sweet Man is a Grandpa!
We are very excited! We have a new Grandson!
Pictures to come!
Sticky Hot!
This summer in NW Pennsylvania has been hot, humid, and sometimes wet! It feels tropical and swamp like (that’s how Judy from New England Garden and Thread describes this weather, swamp like!) These are the only alligators I have seen. And the trees have not turned into Palm Trees, yet!

When it’s hot, I love being out on the water. The refreshing lake breezes and splashes from the paddle keep me cool.

Imagine tubing on the lake with this rubber ducky. It would be a blast and a great way to stay cool.

Poison Ivy
One reason I don’t like the heat is that I have Poison Ivy. The heat makes me itch. I have it pretty bad. I got a script for a steroid which should make me feel better soon! I have lots of gardening to do and a grandson to meet! I need to be better! Now!
Deer
The dang deer ate my red lilies that were about to bloom. Grrrr! I am so sad. Here is a picture of them from last summer.

But they left the pink phlox alone.

My neighbor covered her roses with bird netting, which has kept the deer from eating them.
Her roses are so beautiful!

I hope you see their beauty!
Thank you so much for your visit!

I’m off to hold my Grandson!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Thank You!

We are wishing all of you a wonderful week ahead. Enjoy what this upcoming week brings to you. And whatever you have planned… make every day count and be thankful for your Blessings.

Yay, Nancy, a grandmother!!! 👏👏👏can’t wait to see photos! It’s like the desert here—so hot and dry. 🥵
It seems like everyone has the extraordinary heat. Dry or wet as well.
We are excited to be new grandparents! ☺️
Enjoy your Tuesday, Mitzy!
Congratulations, Grandma! Best job ever! 🙂 My grandson is now 6’2″ tall, and I chuckle every time he gives me a hug and I have to look up at him. 🙂 I sure would love to take advantage of a ride on a lake in this wicked hot and humid weather. Yes, it still is like a swamp out there. 🙂 I sincerely hope you survive your poison ivy and you’re able to do it quickly. Nasty stuff. As for wildlife eating your plants, I send my sympathies because I do understand working in the garden only to have the plants devoured. Deer 1, Nancy and Judy 0. 🙂
Thanks for the Congratulations! We are very excited to meet the little one, and the kids are over the moon happy!
As for the deer, I will be getting “deer be gone” to try to deter them. Grrrr!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and stay cool and out of the Swamp!
Congratulations GG Nance! What a great moment in life for you and Sweet Man.
Indeed! Thank you so much Mr. Mark! We are thrilled beyond measure!
Congratulations and I am so very happy for you, GG! What a rich blessing to be a grandmother. You will absolutely love your new title.
It has been terribly hot here and not much rain to speak of. By the middle of July, I am ready for fall 🥰 Those pesky deer, why do they eat lilies? The phlox is beautiful. I love seeing your purple kayak on the lake, enjoy!
I know you will get plenty of snuggle time with baby boy!! Cherish every minute!
I will cherish every moment!
Looking forward to all the snuggles!
Thanks for all the love!
Enjoy your Tuesday!
Congratulations GG! Being a grandmother is the most fun you’ll ever have! Enjoy every moment with your new grandson. He’ll grow up way too fast! So happy for you.
Thank you so much Beth!
Nancy you bring back memories of one of my poison ivy bouts many many years ago. I had given birth but could not hold my baby because of it ! The nurse would bring him to the doorway of my hospital room so I could see him but not touch. It was heartbreaking. 🥴 I feel for you. Congratulations and enjoy your grand…I am a GG too…with 6 littles.
We do have deer here in Florida, but they are not in or near our neighborhood yet, but lots of bunnies are present…however, we do have a bear currently roaming around but are told to beware but he will soon wander off. 🥴 We have not seen him (except on the TV news stories)…our main ‘plant culprit’ are insects.
Keep cool, this too shall pass my friend.
Thanks for all the love Kari! And how horrible that you could not hold your baby!
Stay cool my friend!
Congratulations, GG!💙💙💙💙💙💙💙 Your heart is about to double in its capacity to love. May you & sweet man find many opportunities for cuddles & squishes to be shared.
Thank you Dawn! We are very excited!
Woohoo! Congratulations, GG! Hugs all around! 🥰
Thank you Victoria! I love your hugs! 🥰
❤️❤️❤️
Congrats Nancy! My grands call me Gigi too! I think it’s really hot everywhere this summer, whew! Sorry about the deer eating your pretty flowers, your neighbors flowers are beautiful. Poison Ivy is not fun! Looking forward to baby pics…
Jenna
Thank you so much Jenna! Are hearts are full!
Congrats on your new grandson! I’m a new first time GG too! Our granddaughter was born on the 28 June. So fun! Your lake photos are terrific, per usual!
Thank you so much and Congratulations to you as well!
I’m so happy for you!
Oh what wonderful news! Biggest congratulations to you and your family.
The fun continues!
Thank you Dorothy! Our hearts are full!
Congrats and hugs to you, GG! Enjoy the fresh baby smell! Sorry to read about your humidity and your poison ivy, yuck! I bet you miss the dry desert! Your purple kayak looks inviting. I also have a purple SUP!
Every tree, almost 20, have fencing around them to keep deer away. We fenced in all my raised garden beds for that same reason.
If we could fence in our gardens we would but it is not possible here.
Thank you for the baby congratulations. Our hearts are full!
That’s the best news!! Congrats,
Can’t wait to see the photos,
XOXO
Thank you Jodie!
XXOO!
Congratulations!!!
The pictures of the lake make me envious!
Thank you Pit!
Our hearts are full!
Congratulations on becoming GG. You will have trouble wanting to return to AZ. You’ll need to get in lots of snuggles before fall rolls around. Love your purple kayak. Best place to be during the heat is on the water.😎
That’s for sure! We love being in the water to escape the heat.
Thanks for the grandbaby congratulations! We hope to get lots of snuggles in soon!
Stay cool my friend!
Congratulations GG 💜🤍💜 Oh I am so excited for you and Grandpa. I can almost hear all that love pumping through your heart as it doubles its capacity for love. 🥰
Our hearts are definitely full! Thank you for the grand baby congratulations!
Poison ivy is so miserable. I’m sorry you are suffering through that. It is not made any better by the heat and humidity either. The one positive note is that the rash is not contagious–only spread through the oil. You can hold that precious grandson! Congratulations, GG!
That is very true! The rash is not contagious. It is getting better now that I am on Meds.
Thank you so much for the congratulations of our new grand baby!
Good morning, Nancy! Congratulations on the arrival of your precious grandson! How exciting! I hope your poison ivy is gone soon. My oldest son is highly allergic, and I know how miserable that can be. I’m sorry about the deer. I feel your pain. I’m trying something new called deer scram. It is granules you place around your plants. I’ll let you know how it turns out. Have a wonderful week, sweet friend!
Oh please do let me know how that Deer Scram works for you.
Thank you for the Grandbaby congratulations. We are very excited and gead over heels in love!
We’ve been having the same in Michigan. And I feel your pain with the deer. The same thing is happening here. Alas. I suppose I should be glad they are fed but I rathr wish they’d eat something else!
I hear ya! Thanks for understanding his I feel!
Have a wonderful week!
I am so happy for you, Nancy! Congratulations on the birth of your grandson.
Enjoy your visit to meet your new baby and hope the steroid will help your poison ivy.
Thank you so much Bonnie! We are excited!
Congratulations on the birth of your grandson, that is wonderful. What is not wonderful is poison ivy, hope it has cleared up with the medicine.
Thank you so much, Karen. We are very excited about the grandbaby. And I am finally on the mend.
Having a grand baby is like falling in love all over again. Congratulations to you, and your family.
My kids live in Western Pennsylvania (although Florida natives) and feel like they are on fire (laugh).
Cheers from Florida.
Velva
Nice to meet you! Thank you for our Grandbaby’s well wishes. We are excited.
I am so happy you stopped by for a visit.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Congratulations, how exciting! He is one lucky grandson to have you two for grandparents! So sorry to read about your poison ivy, it’s the worst. Darn deer, they are so wonderful to see but not in the flowers. The deer ate my hosta last year and they are really struggling to grow this year.
Thank you so much Diane!
