Tuesday Tidbits #289 “Ber”

Welcome the “Ber” Months!

Have you heard? The “ber” months are here, and we can only welcome them. Since the calendar has moved forward, I am embracing September and eagerly anticipating October, November, and December! How about you?

HAPPY SEPTEMBER!

Today, I started decorating for Fall here at the Lake House.

I incorporated this area of our cottage kitchen with rich, warm brown tones and vintage fun! The sugar bowl and creamer was my Mom’s!

“By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer.”
— Helen Hunt Jackson

I Loved My Break

It felt good to be away from my cell phone and iPad. I highly recommend it to everyone. I’ll be by to see what you all have been up to—I miss you!

New York Finger Lakes Region

While away from the blogosphere, we indulged in an overnight getaway to the Finger Lakes region of New York.

  8. Oh My Nancy! You are the only other person I’ve come across who refers to this time of the year as ‘The BER Months’. We have done so for longer than I remem-ber and (usually) I have to explain myself whenever I say (or announce) anything to do with the Ber months 🤣🤣🤣 It’s just one more item of proof that you and I are kindred souls. Happy Septem-BER to you and your Sweet Man.

  9. What an incredible trip. The hotel, the waterfalls–all so gorgeous! Did you have to pay the birds to pose for you? 😉 I especially love the dining room, both the alcove and the quote. Your photos are lovely, but it was a great place otherwise to disconnect from technology.

  10. Such beautiful pictures. You are such a talented decorator, Nancy. Did you ever work in that field? Glad you enjoyed your time away but it’s nice to see your post.

  11. Beautifully written and photographed post. We have been thinking about a road trip to the Finger Lakes and your post has given me a big shove in that direction. Thanks. Oh, I never thought of the fall as the ber months – fun idea.

    1. I have been to the Finger Lakes region in the Fall when the leaves are turning. Beautiful area in all seasons!
I thank you for enjoying this post.
      Happy Ber Months! 😉

  12. What a fabulous excursion! Your photos are wonderful, Nancy. I do love the Finger Lake area and you showed me parts I’d not seen before. We’ll be at the cottage so little this fall because of the England trip I’m not decorating this year. So I’m glad to see yours!

    1. Oh, I am so excited for you and your England Trip!
I decorated the living room yesterday for Fall, and I will share those soon.
Thank you for enjoying the photos. And thank you always for your kind words!
      Happy September!
