Tuesday Tidbits #327 Can It Really Be June?

It Doesn’t Feel Like June

Welcome June! I am wishing for summer-like weather!

First, it’s C O L D! Second, it has rained and rained. There has not been much gardening as the cold and rain have been relentless.

The umbrella is always nearby.

With this crazy weather, I decided that if I couldn’t play outside, I might as well play inside.

It all began with these adorable plates decorated with strawberries! Sweet man and I were shopping at a local antique store and I had to have them. He bought them for me. 🥰 Believe it or not, they are from Avon! Who knew Avon made plates?

I absolutely love collecting both vintage and new strawberry items. It all started with this teapot, and since then, my collection has grown over the years. It’s always fun to add new pieces.

Strawberries on the teapot.

The vintage Salt and Pepper shakers are marked Sears and Roebucks.

It’s not yet strawberry-picking season, but you know what they say: “Happiness is a basket full of Strawberries!” ~unknown. I can’t wait for those sweet, juicy strawberries!

Where we are in NW Pennsylvania, strawberry season has not begun. So I found these very cute faux strawberries on Amazon.

They look great filling our old Mason jars, which I like to add to the tool caddy sweet man got for me.

I, of course, added fresh strawberries to the menu.

I also added a bejeweled strawberry.

Strawberry sweets anyone?

A lovely friend gifted me the strawberry paper napkins in a goodie bag. I had the green and white gingham plates forever. They are melamine.

This table is not all matchy-matchy. That’s okay with me. Sometimes, in a casual setting, the mix is what makes it.

The glass and cup were placed on the left of the left placesetting for pictures.

I had fun setting this table and will have friends over to enjoy it. I think I will make a strawberry salad. Oh, and the rhubarb is ready to pick. I’ll definitely bake a strawberry rhubarb pie.

Thank You

I hope your weather is cooperating for you to enjoy this first week of June.

I wish for the sun to return and the Strawberries to ripen.

As I always try to convey… we sure do appreciate all of you. Thank you for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

  6. Hey Miss Nancy, I think my comments have been going AWOL, so I hope you get this one. Love, love, love all the strawberries. I’ve sent a link to your post to my daughter, Melissa, who also loves strawberries. Happy June, and although it might still be cold in your neck of the woods, it’s also taking its time cooling down down here – and yet, I do have a light cardigan on this morning 🥰

    1. Hello Clare, it’s so good to hear from you! Warm weather is coming! I am glad your daughter likes strawberries.
      Happy June!

  7. Oh, Nancy! I love your strawberry decor. As a child, I loved strawberry preserves and strawberry ice cream. In my early 20’s I fell in love with strawberry wallpaper and wanted it for my kitchen. That never happened, but I still love strawberry decorations; yours are delightful. May I remind you of your cold weather complaints in August? 😉😂

    1. You just made me giggle. Yes, please remind me of the cold weather come August! 😃

  9. Nancy I love strawberry anything which is so odd because as a kid, I did not like strawberries at all and would eat the shortcake and strawberry juice but not the strawberries. 10. We’ve had a very cold and rainy spring too; I can not wait for nice weather to arrive. All your adorable strawberry kitchen items remind me of my grandmother’s kitchen. When I was in high school she redecorated her whole kitchen and had strawberries everywhere. They always made me smile.

Thank you so much for the Strawberry Love! It was fun to put together.

  14. Nancy, your strawberry collection and latest addition of those Avon plates (who knew??!) are absolutely the sweetest. We had a local estate sale recently whose home was FILLED with strawberry decor. I don’t remember why I didnt participate in that one, but you make me wish I did! They are such a fresh take on spring. Weatherwise, we’ve been much the same as you, and even though the past few days warmed up, the rain did not let up.
    Here’s to a new week!

    1. Rita, your visit has made my day! I am so happy you got to see my table full of Strawberry Love. Your sweet comments are appreciated, especially since I enjoy your lovely tablescapes! Thank you so much for coming by.
