Tuesday Tidbits #55 Standing on the Corner in Winslow Arizona!

Can you believe Christmas Eve is 2 weeks away? Wow! This year has flown by. Welcome and thanks so much for stopping by! We are thrilled to be back in our amAZing Arizona!

We had a busy year of traveling and we have talked about slowing down a bit in 2020. But we will NOT stop exploring!

A few weeks ago we set out to explore an area near

Winslow, Arizona.

Oh yes… Winslow has become a bit famous because of the Eagles song “Take It Easy” because of the verse where it says… “Standing on the corner in Winslow Arizona and such a Fine Sight to See.” Well… I made sure to get my picture taken there. (Like everyone else!)

After my “photo shoot” we were on our way. We came across a beautiful area right outside of Winslow.

We hiked the area and found petroglyphs in a beautiful canyon area.

Later on it was fun to come across a…

Jack Rabbit.

They are usually hard to capture as they are quick and run off quickly! Jack Rabbits are just bigger and have long tall ears.

After exploring for a while… it was time to leave the area and head home.

We saw this sign and had to pull over.😂😃

After a day of exploring… it’s always wonderful to get back home where we can relax outside and enjoy our yard.

So are you ready for Christmas? Try not to get stressed… make time for relaxation and exploration.

Until Next Time~Nancy

Happy to party at:

  1. Good morning Nancy. The Eagles did make Winslow famous. You two are definitely explorers and introduce your readers to the many wonderful sites to explore in Arizona! The sign is hilarious 🤣🤣🤣

Wishing you a most wonderful day my friend!

    1. We do like to explore for sure! Although we have been traveling a lot and with guests sprinkled in between… we are still going strong! 😆
      Thank you for the visit!

  2. What a fun day! Love the PP by the TP! Nice captures of the jackrabbit. And NO, I am not ready for Christmas! I’m just now getting over having guests for Thanksgiving! Christmas is sneaking up on me!

    1. I was thrilled this Jack Rabbit stuck around! I am thinking she was protecting her nest in the bush she was hanging out in.

I too am recovering from guests and travel… I decorated less as well.

Enjoy your week and thanks for stopping by!

  3. Wonderful photos. I love the photo of you standing on the corner. If you were that “…girl, my Lord, in a flat board Ford…”, I have to say that you’re still “…such a fine sight to see”. We’ve been through Winslow a couple of times in the past few years, but we didn’t have time to stop and stand on the corner.

    1. Tim… YOU just made my day! That’s an old song for this “old girl!”

I’m so glad you enjoyed the pictures. I just heard there’s an amazing hotel that I need to go see in Winslow called La Posada with a fabulous restaurant called the Turquoise Room… I think we need another adventure!
Hope you can get your picture at “the corner” someday when passing through again!

      Thanks for the visit!

      1. We stopped in Holbrook last month on our way back from San Diego. I thought about doing a photo on the corner of Holbrook, Arizona, but decided that was pushing it. We went through the old courthouse museum. That was interesting.

    1. Thank you for stopping by! And spreading kindness.

The bougainvillea (spelling?) makes it turn into a Christmas Yard without the Christmas Lights! 😊🎄😊

  4. I’ve never been to Arizona but I sure want to go now! Your pictures are so beautiful! So was there a place in the TP to PP? Was that like their outhouse? I about died laughing when I read that!

  5. If only you and Sweet Man experienced a girl My Lord in a flatbed Ford slowing down to take a look at you at that corner, Nance, bringing the Eagles song full circle. Sigh.

    1. Exactly! Full circle indeed!

While we were there …2 guys from Pennsylvania wanted their picture taken. They were from my hometown! Crazy!

  6. The area around Winslow is beautiful, and what a great time of the year to visit! I believe I have a photo of me standing at that corner somewhere. I will enjoy your posts even more now when I am further away. Thank you for sharing”our” beautiful Arizona 🙂
