Tuesday Tidbits #251 Merry December

It’s Tuesday already, and December has come!

Is it me, or does time fly by for everyone? Last I remember, it was summertime at the lake! But here we are at one of the busiest months of the year.

How do you enjoy the last month of the year? What do you do to keep yourself calm from all the hustle and bustle that December brings?

Holiday Lights

I can say that my decorating is done solely because I decided to go simpler than other years. Is it because I’m getting older, or is it because I am relishing the simpler things in life as of late? It may also be that we had a very busy October/November. I think my mind and body are reminding me how much I enjoy the quiet. The best way to enjoy the quiet for me is when evening comes and the Holiday Lights glimmer. The twinkling of lights soothes me.

Nature

We enjoy the lovely days December brings to us here in Arizona. Sitting outdoors in our little Oasis refreshes us so we can start the day out ideally. I love it when we don’t have an agenda! Getting out into our gardens nourishes my soul. An off-road trip in the desert allows me to take in all new scenery. A meandering walk around the block provides not only energy but gives me a time out. I call it Me time!

Nature helps me to slow down and gives me the restoration that I need.

Baking

If I can bake some nostalgic Christmas treats that bring back wonderful memories of years gone by… I am a happy girl! I enjoy being in the kitchen as it calms me!

Journaling

I have to be in my office when I write in my journal. In my office, I am surrounded by the things I love, such as books, candles, twinkling lights, colored pencils, markers, and special boxes and drawers to hold specialties. It’s a perfect place for tranquility! Journaling helps me to organize my mind, and it’s also a place for me to create. My December pages are colorful and Merry!

Festivities and Traditions

I always look forward to driving around our town so we can view the Christmas lights. Hopefully, this year, we can gather a few friends and enjoy the Christmas Lights, then have them over for appetizers, cocktails and fun fellowship. Sweet memories are made!

So pretty!

Attending Christmas Eve services is such a pleasurable experience. Listening to carols, old and new, and hearing the Christmas message does my heart good.

Making Christmas crafts helps me unwind. This year I am making clay ornaments and will be sharing those with you soon.

Walking through a Christmas Market or a small town decorated for Christmas gives me many cozy feelings.

❤️🎄💚

What do you do to savor the month of December? How do you slow down?

I wish for you a calm and still December that’s blessed with warmth, peace and happiness!

Thank You!

As I always try to convey… we certainly appreciate all of you. Thank you for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

We wish all of you a wonderful week ahead. Enjoy what this upcoming week brings to you. And whatever you have planned… make every day count and be thankful for your Blessings.

  1. I put up tiny white lights as soon as the time changed, and it started getting dark at 4 in the afternoon. I definitely order more things online this time of year and avoid the crowds and the traffic. It’s interesting to look at your holiday decorations and flowers at the same time. Best of both seasons. 🙂

    1. I pretty much do all my Christmas shopping online now. I don’t care for crowds at the stores, although the last time I was in a big box store, there wasn’t a single soul inside. That was alarming to me.

I have to tell you… I have tiny white lights up all year. Either on the mantel or in faux ficus trees. Pure joy!

Thanks for visiting Judy. Merry December!

  2. It’s all so beautiful out there, Nance. I must declare that your simple decoration is another place’s all-out. BTW take a look at your headline today, slip of the key …

    1. Thank you, Mr. Mark! I fixed it! Good grief… I reread my post several times, and then when I added the title at the last moment before scheduling, the slide on my iPad added the “j.” I didn’t see it until this morning to ensure my post was scheduled.
I appreciate your help, my friend! You are the best!
      Merry December!

  3. hi Nancy, I love seeing your blue Arizona skies! I’m glad you are relaxing and enjoying the season. I am not decorating as much this year either, less can be more! Your patio oasis looks like heaven! I loved seeing all the pretty Christmas lights in Anthem, especially the cactus 🙂 Your office sounds like a great retreat, Love your journal page! Happy baking, and have a very merry week!

    1. Saguaros only live at a certain altitude and need an arid climate. LOL! 😉
I can’t even imagine decorating a saguaro with lights but it is done! They are quite thorny.
Thanks for stopping in. Merry, Merry to you Dorothy!

  4. Nancy, your mantel, kitchen Christmas tree and all of your cozy feels are just fabulous! Your beautiful oasis is definitely a happy spot! I always love your AZ travels and wow the ruin is amazing. The Christmas treats look delicious and the festivities and traditions warm my heart. Thank you for all the Christmas cheer, my friend!

    1. Thank you so much for enjoying it all right along with me.
I am enjoying the quiet of my December.
Thanks for stopping in on your busy day with your blog hop.
      Merry, Merry Pam!

  5. Merry Tuesday, Nancy! Your Christmas decorations are beautiful! I agree time is moving too fast. Your gardens are gorgeous, and I always love seeing the photos of your travels. I hope you have a joyous Christmas season, sweet friend!

  6. It sounds like a lovely holiday is on tap for you. I especially love your darling Christmas tree. I haven’t started my baking and I’m hoping to be as productive as you (but the odds are highly unlikely!) I wonder who had to decorate that cactus and how many pricklies they pulled out of their fingers before they were done!

  7. Nancy, your decorations are so festive! I’m only halfway through decorating the tree. I’m late this year because of just getting back from our latest wandering. The Christmas lights in your neighborhood are so fun! We have some really good ones near us. I will have to get out one night and take some pictures. Merry Christmas! Happy December!

  8. I have yet to start decorating for Christmas. We didn’t get to Oklahoma until the end of October so I’m still enjoying my fall decorations. I do have lots of neighbors with outdoor Christmas lights, and they are so fun to look at. If my memory holds correctly, I divided my Christmas decorations in half last year and it made decorating (and taking them down) much more simple. So when I pull things down this year, it will be like having some Christmas surprises! Your Christmas decorating is beautiful. I hope you enjoy your baking and visiting and that embracing a simpler season is a blessing for you!

    1. You got to comment!! Thank you! It seems that all is well now. It was a glitch across the system.
Thank you for enjoying my little tree!

  9. You have a cheerful Arizona Christmas home, Nancy! It’s right busy around here for us. Family coming in, eleven grandchildren, lots of good noisy family time! 🤣🌲

  10. It is always fun to see how people decorate for Christmas differently all over the world and in our country. I love the cactus but certainly wouldn’t want to be the one putting the lights on it. My arms get scratched just decorating our artificial flocked tree. 😊

Thank You So Much... for sharing your kind words. I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to share your thoughts.
