Tuesday Tidbits #269 April Projects

Greetings!

Happy Tuesday.

It’s a pleasure to have you here today.

April Projects

Backyard Cactus Blooms.

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that April would be a month of projects. I am happy to share that we have already tackled and completed a few. Our outdoor gate and some outdoor walls needed painted, and we took care of that. We are currently working on a more extensive project, where we have hired a flooring company to remove the carpeting and then tile three bedrooms. Although our house is in shambles at the moment, we are confident that it will be transformed into a beautiful space once the project is completed.

Our guest bedroom.

I have repurposed one of the bedrooms in our home as my personal office and craft room. As I prepare to move back into my newly tiled office, I am taking the time to meticulously sort through all of my files and craft items. It is astonishing to see the sheer volume of things I have managed to hold onto all these years!

Our Day Bed in my Office.

Crafts

I’ve been busy preparing the rooms for tiling, including my craft room. As it happens, I have gone through my photo archive of some crafts I did, and I would love to share them with you.

We enjoy rockhounding, and Sweet Man has cut and polished them so I can make them into jewelry. I have wire-wrapped many polished cabochons.

Labradorite pendant.
Amethyst Quarts Pendant on Amethyst crystals.
Petrified Wood.
I used beads within my wire wrapping. This is a lapis cabochon.

I enjoy painting especially on glass because it is so forgiving.

Cactus wine glasses.
I love using them on my tablescapes.

Fall pumpkins are added to these wine glasses.

I have sewn a few craft projects as well.

A basket full of carrots.
I sewed the runner and napkins.
I added the napkins to my tea cart.
Embroidered felt pieces.
More embroidered felt.
I enjoy making these felt pieces.

I saw a gal on instagram make clay ornaments so I decided to make my own version.

My clay ornaments.

Sweet Man made me a flower press.

I made pressed flower cards. These flowers came from our gardens.

I have also polished a few rocks!

I polished this purple agate.
This petrified wood was polished by me.

Flowers

I wanted to share some beautiful backyard blooms with you before I sign off. Even though our bedrooms may be in chaos, our backyard is a colorful and vibrant haven for us. Enjoy!

This is where you will find me while I wait for all the work to be done inside.

Thank You

As I always try to convey… we sure do appreciate all of you. Thank you for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

We are wishing all of you a wonderful week ahead. Enjoy what this upcoming week brings to you. And whatever you have planned… make every day count and be thankful for your Blessings.

Terri of Second Wind Leisure Perspectives asked us to share  Diamond, Quartz, Crystal, and/or Purple for her Sunday Stills. Thank you Terri!

  1. Good morning Nancy! I had no idea you were so crafty! I knew you enjoyed painting glasses, and it was great to see so many in this post~ I especially like the the lavender ones, so pretty! The wrapped stone jewelry is beautiful! Do you sell it? I love your cute fabric carrots and embroidered felties. How exciting to have a new craft room. I really need to organize my craft stuff, it does seem to accumulate 😂 The pressed flowers are amazing, and you even made clay ornaments! I love it all, you should share your crafts more often! Your backyard is indeed a haven, just beautiful, what a special place to relax and linger~ You have definitely put a smile on my face today!

    1. Thank you Jenna for your sweet comment. I enjoy crafting. The whole process is fun when you have the time to do it.
Thanks so much! Have a beautiful Tuesday!

  2. Nancy, I remember many years ago when you first decided to post once a week with your “tidbits” and you were wondering if it would fly…so to speak…. and I remembered telling you it would be a success. At the time, I had no idea of your many talents so I had no idea how successful you would be in your “tuesday tidbits”. Today you have shown us why we look forward to seeing your bits and pieces of your double life in both your beautiful homes. They each have so much to offer and you and sweet man have given us a look at two very beautiful locales and the uniqueness of each. I, of course love the high mountain dessert of New Mexico and your desert home reminds me of our wonderful years in the southwest. There are always projects to do and we “collectors” always have things to go through, so good for you that you are getting a few of these projects done. I am trying to get a few such projects done and it can be daunting. Your rock and gem collections are charming….and your painted glassware is just beautiful. Thanks for pics of your peaceful backyard. Just beautiful. Have a great and wonderful week my friend. Hugs and Blessings.

    1. How sweet of you, Kari! Such kind words for me to read today! I love to share, and it’s because of readers and friends like you! Thank you so much, Kari! Hugs! Enjoy your Tuesday!

  3. Good morning, Nancy! We have been trying to tackle several home improvement projects too. This past weekend we repaired boards on the deck and stained the floor, steps and railings. We also completed some gardening projects. I am definitely feeling it though. I think every muscle in my body aches-lol. Like you, we are thinking of replacing some flooring as well. I know your new floors will be beautiful. You are so talented. I am amazed at all the wonderful craft projects you shared. Your jewelry creations are stunning, and all of the hand painted glassware is so pretty. I adore your purple vignette on the tea cart. I hope you have a blessed week ahead, sweet friend!

    1. Thank you, Shannon, for your sweet comments! How nice of you!
And I understand your aching bones and muscles after doing DIY projects!
      Happy Tuesday!

  4. Nancy, renovations are always a mess but so worth it when it’s done! I love your craft projects, especially your beautiful jewelry. Enjoy your time in your garden!

  5. How exciting and fun to have this renovated space for your office and crafts. I am so impressed by your beautiful crafts. I especially love the embroidered felt and your beautiful glass and dishware, but there is so much that’s just lovely and completely delightful. I can relate to the discovery of long lost projects. It’s fun — but a little overwhelming!

  6. O MY Gosh, you are talented, Nancy! From the extraordinary glass paintings, to your craft sewing projects and the jewelry making, your talents know no bounds! You might have inspired me to get out my new sewing machine and sew some things. So, is your tearoom your craft room or are they separate? I ask because I have my she-shed which could be better made into a craft room (except it would be too cold in winter).

The image of the purple agate demonstrates all the colors of this month’s color challenge–well done. We are talking about nixing our horrible living room carpet and putting in laminate. I don’t envy your home being torn up for a while but it will be worth it! Can’t wait to see some pics. Hope you all had a blast at the Botanical Gardens with the AZ bloggers–wish I could have joined you. Have a fabulous week, my friend!

    1. We missed you yesterday! It was nice to get together with everyone.

Thank you so much for enjoying this post. I saw that you asked for purple and crystals, and I knew that was right up my alley!

My tea cart is in our dining room. My craft room is also my office, which is in one of our bedrooms. We have a day bed in there so we can still use as a bedroom. My she shed is separate from the house. I hope that explains things.
Thank you so much for hosting the challenge. Happy Tuesday!

  7. Nancy, your post always brings joy! Your polished rock and wood jewelry is so beautiful and your painted glasses are so pretty and happy! I always look forward to your posts. You have such a positive attitude while your house is being rearranged! We are in the stage of downsizing now…my goodness how did we gather so much? Again, thank you Nancy for your joy and inspiration!

    1. Thank you so much Sue for looking forward to my posts. That makes me so happy! And you made my day!

Thank you for liking some of my crafts. And good luck to you in the downsizing! I am enjoying the purging!
      Happy Tuesday!

  8. You are one crafty gal. Love all your projects especially the pressed flower cards. Hope your flooring turns out great and you get everything done before it’s time to hit the road. 🌵

    1. Thank you Ingrid. I’ll be pressing more flowers this summer. Its a fun process.
Thanks so much for your kind words!
Enjoy the rest of your week!

  9. So many beautiful flowers and so many nice crafts. I hope the flooring project goes quickly because I’m guessing you don’t do well with things out of place. 🙂 You have one absolutely gorgeous backyard/patio area. I’d be out there enjoying that too.

    1. You know me well Miss Judy! Turmoil in our house is not my cup of tea. But… it’s going to be sooooo worth it!
Thanks for all your kind comments always! Happy new week to you!

  10. You are so creative. I just love seeing all of your completed projects.
I’ll miss you over the summer, but hopefully we can connect either before you go or after you get back,
    XOOX
    Jodie

    1. Thank you, Jodie. We sure did miss you both yesterday.
Thank you for enjoying my crafts. How nice of you.
I’ll be seeing you when we get back. I’ll miss ya!
Enjoy your summer in your new home. See you when we get back. xxoo

  11. Happy Tuesday to you, Miss Nancy, and your Sweet Man 🤗I remember seeing those lovely painted glasses, as well as those other crafty items you’ve made. You certainly are adept at making lovely things to use, or decorate your home. I’m interested in doing the same with the carpet in our bedrooms – when it wears further, it’s only seven years old after all – so I’ll be interested in your thoughts about your rooms when the work is done.

    1. Thank you Clare for remembering my crafts and enjoying them again!
I could not handle cleaning the carpets anymore. So tile to the rescue. Our master bedroom is done and we LOVE it! I highly recommended it.
Enjoy the rest of the week dear friend!

  12. I was having Internet problems earlier in the day and could only see a few pictures before it stopped loading. I’m so glad I returned this evening. My connection is great now; I’m glad I didn’t miss all of your lovely crafts, tablescapes, and flowers. Projects like tiling are so disruptive, but it will be so worth it when you are finished.

    1. We will be glad when it is done. But it is looking so wonderful already!
Thanks for coming back later in the day to see my post. How nice of you!
      Happy Tuesday!

  13. Wow…such a treat for the senses – like all of your posts. Thanks, Nancy. The guest room looks lovely and inviting and your jewelry is stunning. You are a talented lady with a wonderful eye. 🥰

    1. I think we are both on the same wavelength this morning! I just commented on your post!
Thanks for all the love dear Victoria.
Enjoy the rest of your week!

      1. I think you’re right…although I’m a little tardy in getting to your Tuesday post! It sure served up all the “feels” on a Wednesday morning. A lovely way to start my day. Thank you! 🥰

      2. I’m sorry glad to help start your Wednesday.
I have been tardy a few times due to this house renovation.
        It’s all good!
        🥰🥰

  14. Loving all your rocks agates, AND projects. It is fun to have a space to create. And your guest room is inviting. A great rest for the weary, especially if they are out rock hunting with you.

  15. Thanks for sharing all these fun projects! I’m sure all of your personalized touches make your house a home. I hope your big flooring project turns out well. Have a great day!

    1. Thank you. As I type this, I can say the floors came out beautiful! I am now in the process of putting the rooms back together.
Thank you for enjoying my crafts.

  16. Hi Nancy, I am so sorry I am late in commenting. Your post didn’t show up on Reader for me. Then I have been sick with the flu for the past 4 days.

I knew you were one talented lady, but you do it all! I love seeing the stone jewelry and it is a fabulous hobby for you and Sweet Man. Your painted glasses are so pretty. I love your embroidered felties, pressed flowers, clay ornaments, tablescapes, and of course your garden. I am amazed that you handle two homes so beautifully with gorgeous gardens at both. I think you are Super Woman! Please share your crafts more often!

    1. Awe… you made my day! Thank you for such beautiful and sweet compliments.
I hope you are feeling better now after the flu. Thank you always for your kind words.

  17. You are so incredibly talented, Nancy! Hugs to you for sharing the various treasures you have created – your talents are truly god-given!
