We are still in the summer mood here. In fact, we celebrated summer once again with ice cream!
We try to go to this cute little place near Fryburg, Pennsylvania, once a summer. It’s a great ride in the country!
It is always enjoyable to take a country drive through western Pennsylvania on a sunny day. At times we drove along the Allegheny River which was a beautiful sight.
Sometimes, we found ourselves driving through the countryside and seeing wonderful-looking farms like this one.
The countryside is adorned with splendid barns!
I have previously shared with you the next barn, which happens to be my favorite local barn.
Here it is in the winter!

It suddenly hit me that those barns can also be considered Strawberry Delights, Nance! What a lovely drive in the western Pennsylvania countryside in early August!

Great post! I LOVE country rides and yes, I’m a sucker for barns too! I especially love riding my bike on county roads. How’s the shoulder on those roads? Is there enough room for vehicles AND bikes? That’s always the challenge. BTW, have you printed and framed that gorgeous shot of the red barn in winter? If not, you should!

That kitten was in an area we were shopping at. It was skiddish. Ran away if I got close. We were hoping it had a family. So darn cute!

I always enjoyed driving through the country when my daughter lived in Downingtown. Such a beautiful part of our country. But that daughter lives near me in Florida now.❤️

Beautiful views on your drive Nancy. Living just over the border in Ohio we have old barns everywhere too, even right across the street from our house. There are a lot of Amish communities that we love to slow down and visit. The food is amazing too! Lol
We too have a large Amish community herd in Pennsylvania. We have hired many to do construction projects for us.
We live in a beautiful area, don’t we?

Pennsylvania is such a beautiful state. I always enjoyed the drive from Cleveland and, later, Chicago, to Philadelphia…at least until I left the interstate to head into the city. 🙂 I also love barns, maybe not unusual since my grandparents in Nebraska lived on a farm. I love the winter photo! Seeing a barn falling down makes me sad, but your photos make me happy. <3 Have a wonderful weekend!
When you grow up around these old barns, you know how much they are needed and loved by the people who own them. And now we, too, love them.
