❤️
Hi Folks. How’s your week been? Here we are on the first Tuesday of February. January dragged on for me, but this past week has zoomed by.
Maple Syrup Time
February isn’t just about love; it’s also a special time when the Maple Syrup trees start producing their sweet sap. When in Pennsylvania, we live a few miles away from a Maple Syrup Farm. For the best sap flow, temperatures must rise above freezing, creating the right conditions for sap collection.

Brrrr
January went slow for us as we were in Rehab mode with Sweet Man. Plus, our nation felt the Polar Vortex come down upon us. It was COLD! BITTER COLD for most!

Stepping Out
Now that Sweet Man has ditched the walker and cane, he is on his way to full recovery. Because of that, we are stepping out a bit more. On one cold evening, we had a date night where we enjoyed a big bowl of Ramen at Kobe Ramen and HotPot. It warmed us right up!

Another fine evening we attended a cocktail party with friends and neighbors. Our friend always decorates her home so beautifully and provides the best meals.
Here is her Valentine’s Tree.

We then enjoyed a Baby Shower at another friend’s house.

Blogging Friends Meet Up

I had a wonderful time with these fun people. You may recognize some of them. We are all bloggers who enjoy getting together when time allows. It was great that John and his wife, along with Terri, were vacationing here in Arizona. The rest of us call the Valley of the Sun home.
L-R Front Row is Rob, Jodi of Jodie’s Touch of Style, John and his wife from Photo By Johnbo, Ingrid from Live Laugh RV, yours truly, Nancy from Two Trails One Road. Standing L-R is Terri from Second Wind Leisure Perspectives, and Janet from This That and the Other Thing.
We enjoyed each other’s company over coffee and great food at The Grotto Cafe in Cavecreek.
When leaving, I looked at who was near the parking lot.

Baking Bread
I have been wanting to learn how to make Sour Dough Bread. A lovely friend shared her starter with me and then taught me how to bake the crusty bread.

Thank You
We had a busy week but it’s been a fun one for sure.
As I always try to convey, we definitely appreciate all of you. Thank you for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

Your February looks off to a great start, Nance! Wow, a Valentine’s tree. That’s the first I’ve seen. How neat. From Central New York I shall wish you a … Sappy February!
Let the Sap Flow!
And a Sappy February to you Mr. Mark!
Life is good at your house, and that’s a wonderful thing. Glad your hubby is recovering, the valentine tree is lovely, and that’s a wonderful photo of your blogging community.
They are a fun group. And yes, sweet man is doing well. Thank you so much for your sweet words.
Enjoy your Tuesday.
Good Morning Nancy, You had a busy month with your shower, party and meeting friends. The frost pattern on your windshield it looks like little frozen pyramids and *brrrr*…your car needs a blanket! 🥶 The ramen looks so good all along with the baby shower treats. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.
P.S. You have a beautiful smile 😊
Awe… thank you, Mary!
It was a busy week but lots of fun. It’s always so good to hear from you.
I appreciate your kindness. Enjoy your Tuesday!
Glad your Sweet Man is doing well…love the pics…especially the icy “windshield quilt”. Wow! 🥰
Wasn’t that incredible?
Thanks always for all the love. I appreciate you.
Enjoy your Tuesday!
You betcha! It was amazing! 🥰
🥰
I’m so glad Sweet Man is getting around better now, and you’ve been able to be more out and about, visiting friends, restaurants, parties and enjoying! Happy Maple Syrup season! Your sour dough bread turned out beautifully!
Jenna
I was pretty proud of that sour dough bread!
Thanks for all the love. It’s always so good to hear from you.
Enjoy your Tuesday!
Happy February! No sap running here yet, it’s been cold, except for yesterday.
It started back in our area of Pennsylvania. 39° yesterday!
Happy February to you as well.
Have a terrific Tuesday!
Wonderful post. Great info on maple syrup. The Valentine’s tree is great. Love the coyote, and the sourdough bread looks delicious.
I am pretty proud of the Sour Dough. And that coyote was fun to see. It’s mating season so they are out and about more.
Thanks for stopping by, Tim.
Enjoy your Tuesday!
My mom had a sourdough starter that was said to be over 100 years old when she got it. She kept it going for over 60 years until my dad died.
Wow! That’s incredible.
As always, it was fun getting together with fellow bloggers. Your bread looks delicious!
I am pretty proud of the sourdough bread.
It was great to see you, my friend!
Enjoy your Tuesday!
Did you use all your sourdough starter or are you now feeding it for future bread?
Right now it is sitting in the fridge waiting for me to feed it for when we need more bread. I am not quite ready to bake more.
🥰
I really enjoyed getting together with you all last week, Nancy. Sorry for the test comment… feel free to delete it. You got a great pic of Mr Coyote! Glad your hubby is doing well. I love the maple syrup process! That image of your windshield is amazing. Have a blessed week!
Terri it was so fun to see you again. You also got to see Mr. Coyote! He was quite handsome.
Hope you made it back home safely without any hiccups.
Happy Tuesday Terri! And thank you for the visit!
Thankfully, by leaving Last Thursday, we missed the winter storms
Oh good!
I love sourdough bread, my Mother always had it on hand! So glad that Sweet Man is out and about and having fun. Y’all are a busy couple. The bloggers look like a fun group. We have coyotes around us, some look ragged and some look well fed. They are not our favorite inhabitants of our land. They sometimes awaken us very close as they have made a kill. Eerie sounds.
Have a wonderful week, my friend!
Oh yes, they wake us as well. It is an eerie sound.
Thanks for your kind comments always.
Enjoy your Tuesday, dear friend.
I think you and Sweet Man this week made up for his recovery days! What a great week. Such beautiful settings for the parties. We certainly have had a deep freeze in the U.S.–and then yesterday we were at 82 F and today at noon we are at 35 degrees with a “feels like” of 27 🤪. Thanks for the info on maple syrup collection; I had no idea it is now piped! Have a great week, Nancy!
You are experiencing major temperature fluctuation.
Thanks for the visit. Enjoy your day.
I don’t think I knew you got the polar vortex in AZ! Yikes! Glad you all survived and that the surgery went well as is healing. You’ve certainly had some fun times and we have to grab at those. The bread looks scrumptious! I haven’t been to a sugar shack in a few years but I always love going as they make the syrup. Looking lovely!
Thank you, Jeanie, for always commenting so sweetly.
Enjoy your day!
Nancy what a wonderful post. I love all your pics but the coyote one is a bit scary. I grew up on a farm and later a ranch where coyotes were very common..and they usually kept their distance…except at night near the hen house. However lately, at least here in Florida, they have suddenly become very brave and have been appearing in broad daylight and attacking people and their pets. I hope everyone keeps their pets safe.
The Ramen looks yummy as does the sour dough bread…I could pour the maple syrup over the bread and be happy. LOL…and the baby shower is lovely, lots of good treats to snack on for sure.
Glad sweet man is getting along so well…I am enjoying the warmer temps and the Captain and I have been having breakfast in the courtyard and loving those “rays”. Have a great week.
Yes the coyotes are getting brave.
Thank you so much for all your sweet comments. Enjoy your day, Kari. 🥰
Nancy, so glad to hear that Sweet Man is recovering. You have started your February with lots of fun! It looks like all of the bloggers had a great get together. I can just imagine all of the smiles and laughter! Have a great week!
Yes we do have fun.
Thanks for your sweet comments, Beth. Enjoy your day! 🥰
Your freshly baked sourdough bread looks like crusty perfection! And I think life was meant for best friends and good blog adventures with them! Looks like you are already unwrapping the love of this month with all your celebrations! Cheers! 💕💕💕
You said it all so perfectly. Thank you Mary!
Happy February! 🩷
Nancy, I love real maple syrup, and I enjoyed reading about the process that you shared. Your sour dough bread looks both beautiful and scrumptious. I hope that you have a wonderful week!
Thank you so much for your sweet comments, Shannon.
Enjoy your February!🥰
What a fun February you’ve had so far, Nancy! I’ve been making sourdough for over 20 years now from a starter from the Civil War that someone shared with me.
Happy February ♥️
How wonderful, Kitty! We enjoy it very much.
Thank you for the visitbsweet friend! Enjoy your day! 🥰
How great to be able to meet up with other bloggers!
Thanks for sharing about the maple syrup. I’ve got a pen friend who lives in Pennsylvania.
I am glad you stopped in for a visit. Thank you for enjoying this post.
I hope you get to visit your Pennsylvania friend one day.
Happy New Week to You!
