It’s Raining!
This is such exciting news! We really needed the rain! It has not rained since August. The desert is celebrating today! 🌧️😊
So is our yard!
With the rain falling outside, I’m warm and cozy inside because it is cold out. I’ve got all the candles lit, and I’m in my comfy loungewear by the fireplace. I baked some delicious cookies and smiled while setting up my journal for February. It has been a delightful day! It’s Winter in the desert.
Car Show
A few days before the rain came, we attended a local car show. We saw some classic cars. Oldies but goodies!
Last Tuesday in January
Can you believe it’s going to be February next week? Warmer temperatures are coming, too. We look forward to returning to our back patio, and hopefully, we’ll see our favorite birds.
We had a wonderful week, and we are so thankful for it.
But we can not forget those who have lost their homes due to the devastation of the fires and hurricanes. We continue to keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

So happy you’re getting some much-needed rain! And that shot with the dog…perfection! Yes, it’s exciting that February is almost here. The days are gradually getting longer. Thank you for these beautiful thoughts and photos as we near the end of January and forge into February. I find myself smiling when I see a cute little puppy on TV or a photo of a beautiful sunset or sunrise. I feel so Blessed to be able to appreciate all of God’s beauty around us. I also use my daytimer to record not only my appointments but my thoughts and feelings as I review each day. Your drawings are much better than my little scribblings but I smiled at each one. It has been unseasonally (or unseasonably) cold here in Florida these past few weeks so I am looking forward to much warmer temps. Have a wonderful and cozy week. hugs always

Those cookies were so good right out of the oven. I make a dozen or so and only eat two when they are warm. The rest are all for sweet man. I quenched my hankering for them yesterday.

We could use some rain too Nancy! Believe it not, I love winter which gives me an excuse to stay indoors and be lazy…read or bake. Love seeing the birds, we have lots of Cardinals at our feeders. I just read that Arizona has a dozen varieties of hummingbirds…I’m so envious! We only have one variety, the ruby throated hummingbird, that you have in PA. I always look forward to their return. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead. ♥
Yes we have several kinds of hummingbirds. We enjoy them very much and they are extremely territorial of their feeders.

Glad you got some rain and were able to get the car show in before it started. They certainly are beautiful vehicles. I love your feathered friends and hope they stop by soon. We have more snow coming through tomorrow, but today we have a cold day but lots of sunshine so that’s okay. Happy February.

It’s raining here in North Central Texas this evening and I’m sure our sleeping wildflower are very pleased to have a drink! I could use a plate of those warm chocolate chip cookies too. Winter in the southwest is a treat!
