Tuesday Tidbits #341 Look Who’s Back

We Are!

It was nice to take a break, not just from blogland but also from social media. Spending time with family, friends, and just us was marvelous.

We also tuned out all the despair that was swallowing us whole. Try it, turn off the tv, turn off the smart phones, and all its media. Enjoy the quiet moments. The “nothing” that surrounds you is remarkable.

Travel

We even did some traveling. We visited family in Denver and we all went for a ride in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado when traveling about 55 miles per hour from the back seat.

We drove to a high point of 12,835 ft. elevation! We were very close to heaven.

We even saw patches of snow. Up high…

…and down low.

Incredible sights surrounded us.

We looked everywhere for wildlife. We saw NOTHING until we were at the Starbucks parking lot and saw this.

A female elk. She was putting in her order at the drive-thru!

Back at Home

My favorite tree at the lake is beginning to share its stunning fall colors.

When we returned home, I walked by the lake on a crisp, foggy morning. It was lovely to see that the trees were beginning to show their vibrant fall colors.

Other signs of Autumn are showing up for the parade of colors.

The hydrangeas are turning pink and green. 🩷💚

Goldenrod in all its glory. It was late blooming this year.

Fall crocus.

Football Fall colors and sounds!

Cozy Living

Cozy!

“Home isn’t a place, its a feeling.” ~unknown

Early morning cozy in the kitchen.

The sweet corn in the fall is even sweeter! It adds to a delicious meal in our cozy kitchen!

Homemade Pumpkin Spice tea with a little froth!

Fall coziness in the livingroom.

“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things!” ~Robert Brault

We have been welcoming the beauty of Autumn while cherishing the daily simple pleasures that enrich our lives. We have two signs in our home that give us this daily reminder.

Simple Pleasures

Focusing on the joy around us helps keep out the disorder in the world.

“Life brings simple pleasures to us every day. It is up to us to notice them and make them wonderful memories.” ~Cathy Allen

Thank You

We’re so grateful to have you join us. Thank you so much for returning after our two week break.

We are wishing all of you a wonderful week ahead. Enjoy what this upcoming week brings to you. And whatever you have planned… make every day count and be thankful for your Blessings. Take good care of yourselves!

  1. Glad to hear you had a good break and a great Colorado visit. Yes, fall is definitely here. The trees are showing their color and daylight is changing with each passing day. Beautiful fall photos from your lake home. Enjoy your remaining time on the east coast.

    1. Thank you Judy! I got to spend time with our little grandson and our older granddaughters. Our hearts are full! And yes, Fall has come! It’s Cozy Time!

  2. Your mantel is so pretty. We’ve been enjoying the last of the sweet corn here. It’s so good — you can’t beat it. The cottage looks so pretty and fallish and your trip sounds fantastic. Our trees are beginning to change. Compared to last year, this is early but probably a bit more typical. I wonder what I’ll see when I go north this week!

    1. Oh, I hope you get to see some color!
Thanks for all the fall love. It is everything cozy and pumpkin spice!
Happy Trails to you and Happy Tuesday! 🍁

  5. Oh what fun to travel to The Rocky Mountains! My late beloved and I went to Estes Park and hiked so many trails. We did see elk walking around in the town! Your cozy living pictures are so heartwarming, Nancy. I want to sit and visit! How do you make your pumpkin tea? Is it just plain tea sprinkled with pumpkin spice?
Enjoy the beauty of your week as we head into Fall. 🌻☕️🌻

    1. I have Pumkin Spice tea. Then I froth some cream to add to the top and sprinkle some cinnamon on it. Easy peasy!
Estes Park is a beautiful town. That’s where we saw the Elk in the parking lot.
Thanks for all the love. Enjoy your Tuesday!

  6. Welcome back Nancy, I have missed you. I am so glad you spent time with family and turned off the noise. I remember life being simpler before the constant ringing and beeping of cell phones and when people actually looked you in the eye and were not glued to a screen. The Colorado mountains are some of our favorite and your photos are beautiful! Back home in PA the lake views are stunning and oh, the goldenrods that we love. They were our state flower for years, and then somehow it changed to the camellia which isn’t even a native! Your cozy living is inviting. Happy Tuesday, my friend!

    1. Thank you so much for all your kindness. Colorado was lovely to see.
I got to babysit my grandson. He is a toddler now and walking!
Enjoy your Tuesday my sweet friend!

  7. What incredible views (and photos) in Colorado! It sounds like a wonderful trip! Your home is so inviting with all the fall vignettes Nancy~ I enjoyed all the quotes you tucked in too! I hope you can enjoy more Fall color at the lake before you return to AZ!
    Jenna

  8. Welcome back, Nancy! We had a bit of a break too in Yellowstone, but it was there we learned of the recent tragedy. Your images of Rocky Mtn NP are incredible. Such a perfect time of year to see golds and oranges! Welcome to autumn just around the corner. 💛🧡🍂

  9. I got confused for a minute, thinking you had made the trip back to AZ and I had missed it. 🤪 I’m glad you haven’t missed fall in PA and got to enjoy your family. Colorado is so beautiful and a wonderful place to “disconnect.” And this was the perfect time to do it if you don’t want to be a part of constant negativity.

  10. Welcome back, Nancy. I’m glad you took some time away from it all. I loved all your pictures but have to tell you that corn on the cob looks so good! Mouthwatering! 🙂 We grew some this year, and it was good but apparently we didn’t grow enough. We ate it all.

  11. Glorious scenery and views Nancy! Turning off the noise and unplugging gives you a chance to reset and nature is the best way to unwind. Beautiful smile and cute photo of you from the back seat! I had to chuckle at your search for wildlife and finding it at Starbucks 😊 The fall metamorphosis and pinks of the hydrangeas are beautiful. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead! 🧡

    1. Thank you, Mary, for your sweet comments. It was a great break! And coming back to see the fall colors has been terrific!
