Tuesday Tidbits #350 The Week Has Come!

Hip, Hip, Hooray!

In a few days, I will be getting a new hip. I am ready! I would love for all your prayers and well wishes to continue, please. It means so much to me. It brings me comfort and strength, and I appreciate each of you. Thank you!

Our Roses Continue to Bloom

The roses were quite content after the soft rain we had this past weekend.

All the roses are in full bloom!

Peace Rose

Queen Elizabeth in full bloom.

Quenn Elizabeth tends to show off.

Carefree, AZ

This past week, I had the opportunity to spend some special girl time with a friend in Carefree, AZ.

Second Largest Sundial is located in Carefree, Arizona.

Are you able to see the shadow? It was a little after 1:00 when I took this photo. So it was accurate.

A cactus garden that is near the sundial.

Walking through this part of Carefree, you’re surrounded by beauty. Across the street, you’ll find charming shops, boutiques, and restaurants.

My friend and I had lunch at a small outdoor café and enjoyed a delicious salad while taking in the beautiful cactus garden.

The chicken kabobs and the roasted beet salad were tasty.

Located in the gardens is a statue called “Stallion of the Wind,” which is available for purchase.

A favorite place that has been in Carefree for over twenty years is the English Rose Tea Room in Carefree. A beautiful place to enjoy a lovely tea time.

My Collections

My Tomato Servers and Bon Bon Servers got a festive touch of Christmas.

I love my bouquets!

My tea cart is ready for Christmas!

Not a fan of tea? Well grab a Santa Mug and you can help yourself to some coffee or cocoa.

You guessed it. I love my Santa mugs as well. I have two more that you can’t see. 🎅 Seeing them all together gives me instant Holiday Cheer.

I do enjoy my collections, and I make sure to display them because it gives them a place to shine. Most of the items have a story behind them or a sweet memory associated with them.

I would enjoy hearing about your collections. What are they? Why do you collect them?

Thank You

Thank you all so much for your thoughts, prayers, and kindness as I get ready for my upcoming surgery.

I hope to have a brief blog post next week to update you on how the surgery went and how I am doing.

  1. Sending all good wishes for a successful hip surgery and quick and complete recovery. I do love seeing your collections. The silver servers are lovely. And that tea cart/cocoa bar area is perfect. You take care, have lots of tea and thinking lovely thoughts for you.

  2. Good luck with your hip! I had one replaced after a bad dislocation eight years go, and the experience was amazing. It really is a wonder what they can do now, and they had me climbing stairs, pain free, the next day! You’re going to be great!

  3. This post is a true feast for the eyes, with so much beauty! Wishing you much luck with your hip surgery. So many of my friends have had this surgery and the difference it has made to their comfort is life changing. Listen to everything your physiotherapist tells you in recovery and you’ll be skipping in no time.

  4. I’m in another one of my purging moods and doing some “Swedish death cleaning”. Thus, no more specialty collections for this gal as I embrace more minimalism. I’ll just rely on you for all the holiday decor. 😄Hoping all goes well with the surgery and you’ll be hiking ready in no time. 🙏🏻

    1. I have purged as well but I love my special little things that have so much meaning behind them.
Thank you so much for the well wishes. 🥰😘

  5. Carefree – what a sweet place to live! Your roses are picture perfect, and they will be smiling at you when you return from a successful hip surgery. Prayers and blessing to you my dear one!

  6. “Hip, Hip” Hooray gave me such a giggle, Nancy. Speedy Recovery and healing wishes and prayers for you…

Your Christmas collections are so joyful❣️ It’s so nice you have them all set up and ready to enjoy as you recover. I have a St. Lucia collection that my family enjoys as well as the tradition of the oldest daughter making and serving Lucia buns. We have a Christmas Tree Soup tradition too and I love getting out the Christmas Tree dishes and green soup bowls. There’s more…if you can believe it❣️ I know you understand this. 🤣

Thank you for introducing us to Carefree, Arizona. That looks like a wonderful spot to visit, especially when we in the mountains are in the snow…

    Take good care❣️

    1. Oh Sue! You must send me pictures of your soup night and your St. Lucia collections! How delightful to have those traditions with your family.
Thank you for the well wishes. I appreciate you! 🥰😘

  7. Oh Miss Nancy, a new hip. I will be thinking of you. I cannot imagine how things have been for you, but I have a few friends who are walking around on new hips and new knees and they are so appreciative of modern medicine giving them a new lease on life. As I said, I will be thinking of you and wishing you all the best for a speedy recovery. ❤️‍🩹

  8. Lovely post, Nancy, with the views of Carefree. You remind me of my SIL, she decorates to the max for each season. Like you, as you get ready for your surgery, she laid out her Christmas decor already to have it all up in time for Thanksgiving. Her dad is visiting from San Diego and he loves Christmas. They spent 3 weeks in Italy so she wanted to be ready. I’ll be praying for an easy and successful surgery, my friend! Love your closing avatar image, very cute! ❤️❤️

  9. Nancy, your roses are gorgeous! Carefree looks and sounds like a carefree place. The tea room would be a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. You are getting Christmas ready before your surgery! I love the tea cart and the Santa mugs.

  12. Good morning Nancy, sending prayers your way for your hip surgery and speedy recovery! The roses are beautiful and enjoy seeing your collections highlighted for some Christmas cheer. You make me want to seek out tomato servers and start a collection. 😊 Love your festive tea cart! I have a similar cardinal teapot that is a favorite. Thinking of you! ♥

  14. Nancy, wishing all the best in prayerful thought for you and your medical team! As for collections, the better question may be, “what don’t you collect?” lol My favorite collections are my antique beaded and mesh purses, and my dishes, of course! Love your Christmas decor and blooming roses.

    1. Thank you Rita. We all love our dishes, don’t we? Your Beaded purses collection sounds delightful.

  16. So much beauty in this post! The roses, the adorable town you went to with your friend and the beauty there, your tea cart, the tea place in town- I was swooning over it all. I hope that everything goes with your hip surgery and the recovery. I will try to remember to pray for you (I´m just being honest- I will make an effort to pray for you but I don´t want to say that I will just to say it if that makes sense). Looking forward to hearing how it went and how you´re feeling.

    1. Your thoughts right now have been heard by God. So, you have already prayed for me and my procedure. Thank you! 🥰❤️
Thank you also for enjoying my pictures. It was a great week.
      Happy Thanksgiving!
