Christmas in the Desert is a sight to see! We don’t have your normal evergreen trees to decorate so creativity is a key!
Seeing cactus lit up at night is a treat to see.
Of course each community has their lights display!
The Court House and trees on the square of Prescott are beautiful!
The Glendale Lights in Glendale, AZ are fun!
Our very own Anthem has a tall Christmas Tree. It’s the biggest Christmas Tree in Arizona!
Some like to have fun with their cactus for Christmas.
Whatever the case… we love Christmas here in the southwest!

Thank you for sharing Nancy….The Southwest is truly magical and I know you love your Arizona as much as I love my New Mexico. Even though I now live in Florida, the Southwest will always be “mine”! I, too have decorated a cactus or two and I have the “scars” to prove it.
You won’t believe my silliness, but one year we were digging up and moving several cactus (actually cacti) ……AND as my husband wheeled the wheelbarrow, one of the golden barrel cactus had started to fall out and yep! you guessed it…I reached for it without gloves.
Oh my gosh!!!!!! we picked and tweezed for hours and it still hurt.
“They.”, whoever “they” are, said you will never get all of the “thorns”, that at least 5 % will remain inside and I believe it. Every now and then, I will touch the palm of my hand just so…and I feel the pain all over again! I guess it is like shrapnel… it is there forever.LOL

Oh my gosh …I feel your pain. We were hiking yesterday and Sweet Man dusted by a cactus and he got nabbed. He is still picking it out of him.

The trees are all lovely, and the cactus with the hat and glasses made me laugh. We had a homeowner here in town who use to put hats, glasses, and fake beards on three of her evergreens. Made for a good chuckle when we drove by. The new homeowners cut them down. 🙂

In high school, the grandmother of my two best friends (twins) made nut horns. They would melt in your mouth. I haven’t had one since, but just the mention made me smile. Here’s hoping your batch comes out great. 🙂
The second batch are always better as the technique of rolling them gets easier! Ha! Ha!

These saguaros wrapped in lights are hard to find at times …as they are VERY HARD to wrap with lights. It HURTS!
