I still have no idea where April went! And here we are in May. Despite being early in the month, we’ve had a lot of activities already.
OU Alumni
Sweet man and I attended an evening at the Desert Botanical Gardens for a meet and greet of Ohio University Alumni from the Phoenix area. It was a lovely affair. At the end of the evening, a botany professor from Ohio University took us on a tour of the gardens. The weather was perfect for this sundown stroll.
Kentucky Derby
The next day, we were off to a Derby Party!
Did you watch the Kentucky Derby race? It was so close! What horse did you choose? Mine did not win, but Sweet Man chose Mystic Dan in one of the betting games at the party, so he was delighted to win a few dollars!
Tree Trimming
We recently had some trees trimmed in our yard, and then we cut back some more. These desert trees seem to grow quickly and must be trimmed often. It’s a bit of a chore, but we love having them in our yard.
A Day of Golf
I got to ride along with Sweet Man while he Golfed at Trilogy Golf Course in Vistancia, AZ. It’s always a fun day! We call it date day! The weather was perfect right up until Sweet Man finished the 17th hole. Then the skies opened up! He did not get to play the 18th hole.

Good morning, Nancy! The Kentucky Derby party looks like so much fun, and you look pretty in your hat. The stroll through the botanical gardens sounds like a wonderful time. I always love learning about plants and flowers. May is a busy month. We had a birthday party last weekend for our youngest and this weekend is Caroline’s graduation. We are so excited! It is a special garden like no other so cool that he took you under his wing. The Derby photos were great. No we didn’t watch. My husband kept track but he is a Formula One guy and was watching that.
