Homecoming
This past weekend was a special time here in our small town because it’s when many wear their Tartan Plaid. Our town has Scottish roots since it was founded by Scottish settlers, and our local University proudly bears the name Edinboro, Home of the Fighting Scots. (Penn Western University at Edinboro)
It’s Homecoming, an excellent moment to celebrate school spirit! A nostalgic return to a once youthful time!

Many wear kilts!

I have never worn a kilt but this year I wore my Tartan plaid scarf and purse. The purse is new this year. One of my besties gave it to me!

We Hear Bagpipes
We take a lot of pride in the Bagpipes that play on campus and echo through town. It adds such a charming touch!

Clambake
We started the weekend at our friends’ house on Friday night with a delicious Clambake.

Parade
On Saturday morning we went to the center of town to watch a parade. There are marching bands, cheerleaders and floats! Oh, and lots of bagpipes!

Football Game

Homecoming would not be complete without a Home Game win, and that we did! The fighting Scots WON!
Tailgating at the game is always a great time!

Reminders
I also enjoy a ride on campus. This is my alma mater, and I have so many wonderful memories of it. The sweet reminders tug at my heart. This place shaped me. For a short time, when I was here, I was that young girl who once dreamed about the future, but now I’m living it. ☺️
When I went here, it was called Edinboro State College. Right after I graduated, it became Edinboro State University. Now, it has combined with two other state colleges, and it’s called Penn Western University at Edinboro. It is a beautiful campus.

Beautiful Day
Saturday was picture perfect.

Thank You Always
It was wonderful having you join us for Homecoming. We’re so grateful you came, and thank you so much for your support!

Wow, Nancy, I knew we have a lot in common, but this post is brimming with memories and nostalgia for our Scottish-themed high school in San Diego..the Helix Highlanders! I’m going to have to fly out there and hang out with you next year, what fun. Love the plaid, the kilts, the Scottish everything…my heritage! Love your red vest and bag, too. 🧱
