Tuesday Tidbits #254 The In Between Time

Welcome!

I’m a tad late today in publishing this post… but I am relaxing near the fire! It’s the day after Christmas and it’s chilly outside this morning… but the sun is shining and it will warm up to 65ish.

I hope you had a lovely Christmas. We sure did! We missed our family, but we will see them soon! I am not the most excellent Pancake maker, but yesterday’s blueberry pancakes came out great! That started the day off perfectly! We opened gifts, chatted with friends and family, and FaceTime was fun! We even had friends pop over, so we enjoyed their company.

After nibbling on Pizzelles, which I made for Sweet Man as it is his favorite Christmas cookie, I went on a walk in the neighborhood. I was surprised to see earlier-than-usual blooms!

These paperwhites are early this year.
One Cactus bloom of many!
We could call it a Christmas Cactus of sorts!
This tree is in bloom! ???

Then I noticed all of our Aloe has begun to bud!

An Aloe bud.
And more to come.

I find it odd, but I enjoyed seeing the blooms.

This guy caught my attention as well. It’s not a bloom but he sure is cute!

Enjoying the In Between Time

I love the time between Christmas and New Year’s. I think we all step back and take a deep breath to enjoy the stillness. We keep the Christmas decorations up, enjoy the leftovers and dream about the New Year. I enjoy sitting outside and watching the hummingbirds fight over the feeders.

This one lets me get really close! I just love him!

Or sit by the Table Top fire on the patio while I drink my tea and read a book.

I hope you can enjoy this in between time as well!

The New Year is approaching…

Thank you so much for your kind words, inspiration, and friendship! Two Trails One Road wishes you all a Happy and Healthy New Year!

  1. I think that hummingbird is all kinds of darling – illegally so 🤣 and I just adore your ‘Nancy’ memoji – she is as adorable as the real deal 🥰 I also love this time of year, the winding down is what I like. Wishing you and your Sweet Man a wonderful New Year 🥂🎉

  2. I’m so glad you had a lovely Christmas — ours was, too. I always hate to see it go! But there’s more of the season to celebrate and celebrate we will! Happy New Year to you, too!

  3. happy new year Nancy…I love emojis and they can be so much like our images. I enjoy dressing mine in all my sport sports gear when watching my sports. LOL. This is a good time to relax and contemplate the coming year. So glad you enjoyed your family time.

  4. I like your reference to the “In Between Time.” That is truly what this week is. My husband asked me this morning what was on for this week as I am the Keeper of the Calendar. I had already looked and loved the answer of NOTHING! (except my Fellowship/Prayer/Book Club Zoom meeting). I’m sure we will stay busy, but it will be a relaxed busy. I had to look up “Pizzelles.” I immediately recognized them, but I have never made them. I hope Sweet Man enjoyed them. Happy In Between Time, Nancy!

    1. Oh yes! I have a Pizzelle maker. I make them every Christmas but should make them more often as he really enjoys them.
Have a quiet and fun time this week!

  5. I’m a bit jealous of your blooms this time of year and your sunshine as we had fog for Christmas. Nevertheless, we had a nice day. Wishing you all the best in 2024.

  6. Happy in-between time, as you put it so well, Nance. The Arizona blooms you captured on your walk look very comforting, indeed. It’s quite warm for Central New York as we end 2023 as well. Cherished rescue mutt Ellie and I have enjoyed holiday-week walks each day, even if we’ve dodged a few raindrops along the way!

    1. I have seen the weather has been warm your way.
Enjoy the rest of the year my friend! Wishing you health and happiness to you and yours for the new year. 🥳🎉

  7. Nancy, I love the “in between time” also! I am so glad you enjoyed a wonderful Christmas! The blooms are gorgeous! Happy New Year my dear friend!
