Tuesday Tidbits #259 Spring is on the Way!

Hello Friends

I’m glad you are here.

Happy February!

You heard the famous groundhog here in Pennsylvania did not see his shadow so Spring is on its way!

This is Punxatawney Phil’s cousin. He was in our backyard several years ago.

I have to agree with the famous rodent. Here in Pennsylvania, I have seen a few signs of Spring.

Snow Drops poking through the leaves on the ground. My Mom planted these 50+ years ago.
Rhodies are ready!
Lilac’s budding leaves!
Blue Skies!
I enjoyed seeing this! So colorful!
Blue skies over Edinboro Lake and almost 50 degrees!

It’s funny, it was just 3 weeks ago that we had 14 inches of snow!

I also get a kick out of how other states share their very own Groundhog Day. If the saguaro sees its shadow, Arizona sees 52 more weeks of summer!

The Guess Who

We went to the beautiful Warner Theater in Erie, Pennsylvania and saw The Guess Who preform. They were fabulous! Do you remember any of their songs? American Woman, These Eyes, and No Time… just to name a few. They played for about 90 minutes. A great concert!

Thank You!

I hope Spring is on its way in your neck of the woods! Have you seen any signs of Spring? Please let me know.

That’s all I have for you this week. I am so glad you came for a visit.

As I always try to convey… we certainly appreciate all of you. Thanks for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

We wish all of you a wonderful week ahead. Whatever you have planned… make every day count and be thankful for your Blessings! Stay cozy friends!

  1. Early spring looks great in Pennsylvania, Nance! Of course I remember the songs of The Guess Who, as well as singing American Woman as a teen to the car radio, cruising the roads of Long Island. Oh, those days!

  2. I don’t know what I love more, Nancy — all of those signs of spring and the brilliant blue skies or the musical memories of “Guess Who”! Thanks for taking us along and for the reminder that spring IS coming. xo! 🥰

  3. It’s so nice to see signs of Spring! The lake looks beautiful!! I can’t remember the last time I went to a concert, how much fun~ how old are the band members now? Have a wonderful week 💕

  4. Oh Wow! The Guess Who. What fun. They are a great band. Beautiful photos of the promise of Spring.

  5. Love this post! Great capture of Phil’s cousin haha! I can’t wait until spring. I do love all the seasons, but I always enjoy the anticipation of the beauties of the next season around the corner. Take care and have a great day!

  6. Hi Nancy, We’re missing you here big time! We’re really having spring even in Scottsdale. Lots of California’s rain and clouds. We have more coming today. I love your Groundhog meme. I did what teachers do all the time – borrowed a great idea, changed a bit, and used one of my photos for my blog post on weather tomorrow. Hope you don’t mind. Have a great week. xxx

  7. We’re seeing signs of spring here, too. It’s a bit alarming, knowing that in Michigan we can often get snow in April and definitely in March — or an ice storm, which is grim for the trees, especially in fruit-tree territory. And yet it is so hopeful to see my daffs peeping up and loads of robins (though I don’t think they went anywhere this winter!) Love it all.

    1. Thank you, Jeannie!!
I do understand what you are talking about. Winter likes to keep its grip on things.
Enjoy the rest of your week, my friend!

  8. Nancy, I guess I am surprised with all the signs of spring in PA. I think you and Sweet Man are enjoying a winter visit to your summer home. The lake and the blue skies are beautiful! I remember the ‘Guess Who’ from my teen years. My favorite song was ‘These Eyes’. !RM and I listen to the 60’s and 70’s stations on Sirius/XM when we are driving. I love the memories that the music of our dating and early marriage bring to our mind! Enjoy your day, my friend!

  9. Happy Tuesday Miss Nancy and Sweet Man, love all those signs of spring popping up in your (mother’s) garden, but like Judy, I was thinking ‘but you’re not in Arizona’ and won’t it be too hot soon? That Arizona style Groundhog Day made me laugh 🤣

  10. A mild winter followed-up by an early Spring! We are loving it (especially since it is very “builder-friendly!”) Sad I missed visiting with you; however, summer is just around the corner too! Thanks for documenting the weekly changes by the lake! Hugs!!

    1. Thank you, Dawn! I was supervising the workers from afar! 😁
It won’t be long until we are chatting by the lake!
Have a wonderful week dear one!

  11. Great pics on spring….starting to see some of the same type of things here in the Pacific Northwest….buds forming on trees and bushes. Thanks for sharing. “The Guess Who”….wow you just took me back and I started hearing the songs in my head just reading the song titles….awesome! Have a great week!

    1. They are very special and so loved by us and my neighbor!
Thanks for loving them right along with us!
Have a beautiful week, my friend!

  12. I am surprised that PA is showing signs of spring before Oklahoma, but you definitely have them! I have never followed bands closely, but when you mentioned the title of their songs, I knew them. What a fun show! I took a screenshot of your AZ meme for my son and daughter-in-law who live there. That is so funny!

    1. That AZ cactus gave me a giggle!
I was surprised to see the spring signs as well! Especially after that deep snow, we had!
Happy Trails to you, my friend!

  13. Nothing like the trickle of spring. Hopefully Phil is right. Enjoy your tending to the milder weather. Yes, Arizona will be ready and waiting when you return. Its been a bit blustery though….

  14. I love oldies but goodies songs Nancy and luckily we don’t have to worry about spring as our blooms are always blooming. thanks for sharing your beautiful photos. stay warm my friend.

  15. Nancy, how exciting to see signs of spring in your neck of the woods! We have had temps near the 70s the past couple of days. It’s crazy! I sure do hope spring is around the corner. Have a wonderful rest of your week!

  16. Happy February, Nancy! Wow, signs of spring in both of your states! I hope the early spring temps of Pennsylvania don’t rebel and let winter back in! Of course AZ had plenty of spring-like temps even in January while we were there. The sunshine is what I needed and it delivered. I’ve seen the Saguaro cactus shadow meme and pic throughout several blogs of late–very funny and very true! Spring in our cold north of Spokane, WA is far away still, although unseasonably warm temps in the mid 40s have melted all of the snow. El Nino, the bratty child, is really in a snit this year with our crazy weather patterns.

The Guess Who had some great hits, didn’t they? It’s wonderful to see bands from our era making the rounds again. Enjoy your spring!

    1. The weather has been crazy. And you said it perfectly… “El Nino is in a snit! “
      The Guess Who were amazing!
Thanks so much for stopping in.
      Happy Trails to you!
