Tuesday Tidbits #258 Big Changes

Hello Friends!

I’m sitting on the couch, warm and cozy, before the fire that Sweet Man started. We are still here in Pennsylvania. Even though it’s dark and dreary outside, I feel the warmth of the fire and the repaired furnace! Yes, the furnace man came and fixed ours. Hallelujah! We are happy to have that all behind us now.

Sweet Man’s Fire!

Where’s the Snow?

The winter snow is gone. We had about 14 inches of the cold powder, but then the rain came with warmer weather, and poof… it disappeared.

I shared this exact spot last week all covered in snow and a frozen lake.
It’s still cold.

Beef Barley Soup

I made wonderful Beef Barley soup on a cold rainy day. It was simply dreadful out, but it was a delight to take the pot of soup to our friend’s house, where we all sat around their bar and enjoyed every sip together. Nothing is better than having lovely fellowship over a bowl of warm soup. Better yet it’s wonderful having such great friends to laugh and chat with!

Snow Fog

We all talked about the last several days of dense fog we have had here in the Tri-State area. (New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.) Many called it Snow Fog because of the cold ground and warm air. It did not let up for days, and in many places, the visibility was slim to none!

We spent a day of antiquing at Findley Lake, New York. The fog on the lake was breathtaking.
We were glad to get home after driving through such dense fog!

New Tea Set

I love the Cottageware Tea Set and Butter Dish.

I have to share my fantastic find! We went antiquing and thrifting, and I found the above Cottageware Tea Set along with the Butter Dish. I got it all for $25! Mine is Keele St. Pottery Co. Ltd.

It was manufactured in Staffordshire, England from 1920-1960. I believe the butter dish has been seen in a kitchen on a British series from a streaming network. I’m not sure which show, but I have wanted to have this set for a while. I knew it would look beautiful in our cottage kitchen here in Pennsylvania, and it does! It brightens up the kitchen on these dark winter days.

Big Changes

As you can see we had weather changes, kitchen changes and furnace repair changes. My son also had an age change! We had a wonderful time celebrating his birthday with friends and family! Are you experiencing any changes in your neck of the woods?

Thank You

As I always try to convey… we certainly appreciate all of you. Thanks for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

We wish all of you a wonderful week ahead. Whatever you have planned… make every day count and be thankful for your Blessings! Stay cozy friends!

  1. Oh, that tea set! What a terrific find — it sounds like a great day. Antiquing and then finding something you love at a good price! I love your PA home — the knotty pine is so warm. I have it in my cottage and my favorite room in my house at home has it too — so cozy. And it’s perfect with the fireplace and all. We had the snow fog last week too, here in Michigan. Today we woke up to snow. Glad things are “fixed” in the house and all’s well! Have a great week!

  2. You’ve got a beautiful tea set, Nance, thanks to that great antiquing find! The lake fog captures are truly breathtaking, yes, and the barley soup looks delicious! Our weather has been a series of snow-melt-more snow as well. Welcome back east for winter, my friend.

    1. Thanks so much, Judy! We are missing our 75-degree temps in AZ… but there is nothing like being able to gather with friends and family like we did. You also know that since your family came down to you this past week.
      Happy Tuesday, Judy!

  3. That’s been our winter too – We get a lovely snow, then it rains, then it freezes, the it melts, and we start it all over again. Right now, I’m looking at green grass peeking out from little patches like snow and it smells like March!

  4. There is nothing better than a bowl of soup on a cold day, and what a bonus to share it with friends! Love your tea set and butter dish, what a great find! How long are you staying in PA?

The cottage tea set and butter dish is beautiful and what a wonderful find! It looks so pretty in your kitchen. Wishing you a most wonderful week, sweet friend!

  6. Although it’s not fun driving in fog, it sure makes for magical photos. Glad you’re all warm and toasty. The desert awaits your return 🌵

    1. I’ll be ready to hug those cacti!
Well, not really, but… you know what I mean.
Thanks for the love! Happy Trails to you, my friend!

  7. Oh my, Nancy I have tea set envy! That set is fabulous!!! Your fire and the rustic pine paneling gives off a warm and cozy ambiance. I love that room. We have had several foggy mornings that give way to sunshine. Your photos of the fog are ethereal. Sharing a bowl of soup with friends is perfect. Happy birthday to your son!🎂

    1. Oh, dearest Pam, it is always so lovely to hear from you. Thank you so much for your kind words. And thank you for my son’s birthday wishes!
Happy Trails to you dear one!

  8. You new tea set is gorgeous and such a bargin, Nancy 🤗 You are such a thrifty shopper 🥰 but I couldn’t take my eyes off the honey pot on the windowsill. It is a honey pot, right? And that fog does look and breathtaking, and beautiful. I’m still pining for cooler weather, but those seasonal changes are beginning to be felt (and seen) here too. Happy Tuesday to you and your Sweet Man.

    1. Thank you Clare. You are so right… that is a honey pot.
I’m hoping it starts cooling down for you real soon my sweet friend!
Enjoy the rest of your week!

      1. I love the little bee on the side. And the a/c is getting a work out keeping our living space comfortable 🥰. It just means we’re doing a lot of staying inside. Oh well. Summer will be over soon enough.

  9. Your PA house looks so cozy despite the cold outside. OK had multiple days of dense fog warnings too. It is a rarity in NM. You had better lock your doors as a lot of tea set envy is going on out here!😉 It is so cute–and what a great price! You never know what you will find when you go antiquing. Have a great week!

  10. A nice week in your snowy neck of the woods. I do love the mystical look of the foggy photos. And you always bring us a cozy fire to remind us of the joys of life. And… What a great find in the tea set.

    1. Thank you so much for enjoying. The fog was crazy. We have never seen anything like it. But it did make for neat pictures.
      Happy Trails to you!

  11. Life is treating you well I see – “Nothing is better than having lovely fellowship over a bowl of warm soup. Better yet it’s wonderful having such great friends to laugh and chat with!” Indeed, priceless! 😍

  12. I love the fog for photos, not so much for driving. The fire looks so cozy. Finding something special you’ve been looking for is so exciting and satisfying. I know you’ll be enjoying that tea set for years to come. <3
