Tuesday Tidbits #336 We Still Have More to Go

Here in Pennsylvania, Summer is Still in Full Swing

Thanks for stopping by on this beautiful Tuesday!

As you already know—

I get it. I might sound a bit repetitive, but we love our Country Living and Lake Life. That’s why I can’t help but share all the simple pleasures and excitement for summer with you.

I absolutely adore Fall and look forward to its arrival, but deep down, I’m a Summer-Lovin’ Gal! I get that my Southern and Southwestern friends might be feeling a bit done with summer after all the sweltering days. I was right there with them during the unbearable heat dome and humidity. But guess what? The heat finally broke just a couple of days ago, and now I’m falling in love with summer all over again. Isn’t it funny how that works?

Beach Fun!

My Appreciation for Summer

It’s those cherished nights at the lake with friends, the warmth of fires on the back patio, the joy of peach picking, and indulging in homemade peach tarts that bring such comfort. I like the feeling of flip-flops on the dewy grass in the morning, the laughter shared over cocktails with friends while taking in the beautiful view of the lake. I can almost taste the sweet nostalgia of hot fudge sundaes from the beloved local drive-up ice cream stand that has been there since my youth. Oh, and my mornings on the front porch, listening to the birds sing while I read thoughtful blog posts from my dear blog friends, or read my Kindle, always start my day with gladness. Let’s not forget the abundance of bouquets I create, which reminds me of the joy gardening brings. This is my Summer Loving at its best!

Tying our boats together on the lake is another summer fun moment.

Peach Tart

Ice cream screams summertime!

Look at how the morning light highlights this beautiful bouquet! 🩷🌸🩷

Summer Brings Sunflowers

“Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows. It’s what sunflowers do.” ~Helen Keller

We found a huge field of them in Girard, Pennsylvania. There were 1.2 million sunflowers! I wonder who counted all of them.

Sunflowers make summer even more wonderful! Every one of them seems to be smiling and spreading sunshine!🌻

Our Very Own Sunshine

One of my favorite flowers. Black Eyed Susans.

Creature Feature

This young Green Heron (I believe) was lost in our yard. I tried to coax it closer to the lake but it went on to the neighbor’s yard. Hopefully it found it’s way.

Gratitude

These were just a few of the reasons why I love summer!

I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to summer just yet! It still feels like summer around here, especially with the kids not heading back to school until after Labor Day. I think I’ll cherish these sunny days a little longer. But for those of you who are excited for Fall and have sent the kids off to school, I totally get it! We can all appreciate the changes in our own ways.

Thank You

We’re so grateful to have you join us, and thank you so much for your support!

August has come. Let’s embrace it.

We are wishing all of you a wonderful week ahead. Enjoy what this upcoming week brings to you. And whatever you have planned… make every day count and be thankful for your Blessings. Take good care of yourselves!

Linking up with these fun parties. Crazy Little Lovebirds

  1. You and I are on the same page when it comes to summer! It isn’t just the weather (though if you make me choose between 90s and snow/ice, no contest!) It’s all the things you shared here and more. Gorgeous flowers, ice cream, farm markets and fresh fruit and corn picked that morning, getting dressed with only one layer, sand in the toes, water play, so much more. Every photo you shared here screams “Summer Rocks! Grab it NOW!” And you’re doing exactly that!

    1. You said it all so perfectly!
      Summer Rocks!
      Thank you my friend!
Enjoy your August and I hope you get back up to the Lake.

  2. Nancy, I love that you’re a summer lovin’ gal and are enjoying all that summer has to offer, along with lake life! Love seeing your rainbow and beautiful lake views. Bee still me heart…those sunflowers! 🐝 I didn’t know there was such a thing as a sunflower distillery to make spirits from sunflowers, I had to look it up. 🌻 I looks like a fun spot to visit! Wishing you a wonderful week ahead 💛

    1. Well, thank you Mary. How I kind of you to stop by. And yes, can you believe it? They make a distilled spirit that is suppose to be healthier than vodka or tequila. And The Sonshine Distillery is also known for the World’s longest single slab “live edge” bar.
Thank you for all the summer lovin’! Happy Trails to You!
Hope it is cooling down for you.

  3. I love this! I feel exactly the same way about summer. I always have a hard time deciding if spring or summer is my favorite season because I love spring flowers and seeing everything come alive after winter. But, boy, do I love the long days and carefree days of summer! Visiting from the Talking About it Tuesdays linkup.

    1. We are kindred spirits! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. How kind of you!
Thank you also for enjoying. Happy Summer new friend!

  6. Good morning, Nancy! That sunflower field is amazing! I’m with you, I love summer and try to embrace all the wonderful things that come with each season. Even though, it can get very hot here in Oklahoma, I still love all of the things associated with summer. Some of my favorites are bright sunshine, flowers, peaches, garden fresh veggies, and ice cream. Have a wonderful week, sweet friend!

    1. Thank you Shannon. We are kindred spirits.
Thank you always for your sweet words! You are such a lovely friend to stop by and spread kindness.
      Happy August!

  7. Such beautiful photos and your words definitely give me all those warm summer vibes. I’m not ready for fall yet either and hope for several more weeks of relaxed summer fun.

  8. Nancy, your post is always beautiful as you share your surroundings and we get to enjoy a virtual visitation. The rainbow is so pretty….and of course I love the sunflowers cuz I am a sunflower from a sunflower state (Kansas). Our sunflowers grow wild as they are native to Kansas. As kids we enjoyed running through the sunflower fields, altho the steps can be sticky and “thorny” although there are no actual “thorns”. They can still “stick” you. But as kids we didn’t care…we had fun. Thank you for your lovely thoughts and pics of Summer. Who doesn’t like watermelon or ice cream sundaes on a warm Summer day. Have a great week my friend.

    1. Oh Kari, what fun to have wild sunflowers when growing up! I did not know that about Kansas.
I am always so glad to have you stop by. Thank you for doing so. Happy August dear friend!

  9. Gorgeous photos Nancy! I love the flowers highlighted in the morning light, magic! I love sunflowers too, and the quote from Helen Keller is wonderful. Your peach tart does indeed look yummy! I hope the baby blue heron found his way. I know you will enjoy these last days of summer!
    Jenna

    1. Oh, Jenna, we are undoubtedly enjoying our summer! Thank you so much for all your sweet comments. Hugs to you, and Happy August!

  10. Happy Tuesday, Miss Nancy 🥰 I’m almost a little jealous here while shivering through a few colder than normal winter days, but I know, before long, I’ll be sweltering in the summer sun and praying for colder weather. Funny how that works 😂 But I like to think I enjoy the heat and the cold equally for the differences each season brings.

    1. Hello Clare! Please stay warm sweet friend! Your time is coming for warmer weather too!
Thank you always for stopping by to spread kindness. Hugs!

  11. Oh my goodness…the little heron! And honestly, all of your pics this week – delicious – every single one! You’re right about the break in the heat and humidity. We’ve got some of that relief, too, and we’re soaking up the time to be outdoors. Warm days and cool evenings! My faves.
Sending big hugs to you, Nancy Lou! 🥰💕🥰

    1. Oh, Vicki Lou, we sure do love the same things! Warm days and cool nights for sure!

  17. Nancy, your posts make me smile and your photos are lovely! I totally agree with your summer thoughts. Though we do not live near such a lovely lake, our little pond offers great fun.
