Tuesday Tidbits #129 Feeling Settled

Hello Friends! This week flew by for me… how about you? I can’t believe it’s Tuesday already.

How was your Memorial Day Weekend? Ours was quiet. And we did not forget those who gave their lives for our Freedom.

A Harvest!

Sweet man picked his first harvest of Rhubarb that he planted a few years ago. Then I got to turn it into Rhubarb/Strawberry Crisp. It was delicious. I’m counting my calories so I followed a Weight Watchers recipe and it came out quite good.

Our Gardens

The Irises are blooming!

These cute flowers called Star of Bethlehems bloomed. They are adorable!

The Chives are always so pretty.

Our Sights By the Lake

Those clouds!
A sunset boat ride.

We Have Babies!

Baby Robins!
These cuties are right outside our bedroom window.

Back Patio

The Potting Bench that Sweet Man built for me made its way back out onto the patio. It is quite handy for our evening cocktails by the fire pit.

We are definitely feeling settled in …here at the LakeHouse. I’m glad! Thank you so much for your visit. I always enjoy hearing from you. Have a wonderful week ahead!

  3. The whole year so far has been flying past, I think.
Our Memorial Day weekend was quiet. I did the usual BBQ, actually smoking pork chops and pork belly, that is. And of course, we remembered those who gave their lives that we can live in freedom [https://wp.me/p4uPk8-3Jz].
Have a great month of June, and stay healthy,

  4. How fun to return to your summer haven and find your garden in bloom and birds singing just for you. I think you must be very special to attract such good fortune. It all looks so very lovely. Welcome to the north!

    1. How nice of you to think I am special. That’s so nice of you to say.
      We are truly blessed!
      Thank you for your kindness.
      Happy first day of June!

  5. We have a short growing season in the mountains and have been delighted to discover that both rhubarb and chives will winter over and therefore come back early. We are about ready for a strawberry rhubarb pie too. Your treat looks delicious. Did you know that chive blossoms are edible? We just learned that and haven’t tried it but saw a picture and they make a beautiful garnish. Your pictures, especially the beautiful purple irises are awesome. I’m glad you are settling in and already enjoying your summer.

    1. Thank you so much for enjoying the pictures.
And I may try chives as a garnish real soon.
      Thank you for the visit.

  6. How nice to have your garden in bloom and being able to enjoy Lake Life! The photos are beautiful and I love the capture of your baby birds! I haven’t ever eaten rhubarb, it’s just one of those things I’ve always strayed away from, I need to give it a try. I love your outdoor cocktail station! Have a nice week Nancy!

    1. Hi Jenna! If you ever try rhubarb… especially for the first time… have it paired with strawberries. You will definitely get the tartness but the strawberries help with the sweetness.
Thank you for enjoying the pictures and our baby birds!
      Happy June first!

  7. I remember saying that that potting bench was too nice for ‘potting’ and it is – still! And wow Nancy! It looks like your ‘Lake Life’ as not missed one beat, with the rhubarb, the irises, and chives that look good enough to eat 🤣, not to mention everything else – and baby robins. No wonder the week has flown by for you.

  8. Happy Tuesday Nancy! Your lake views look much like ours and I always enjoy seeing baby geese on the water. Love those sweet baby robins too! Your potting bench is perfect for serving up cocktails.♥

    1. Thank you so very much for stopping by for a visit and enjoying our Lake Living.
We both love the Lake Life.
      Happy June my friend!
