Tuesday Tidbits #240 Glad to Be Back

Hello Friends!

It’s good to be back. We have had a fun time here at Two Trails One Road. Family fun at its best! It’s been busy but a good busy! We are enjoying every last morsel of summer. How about you? Have you done everything you wanted to do on your Summer List? Are the kids back to school yet? We live in a college town, so the students arrived this past weekend. It’s always a joy to see the students walking the sidewalks on campus and in town.

Our Tartan Plaid collection came out as a welcome to all the students arriving here in Edinboro, Pennsylvania. Our Scottish town!
A beautiful building here on campus.

Boating

When family was in, we enjoyed taking them out on the boat.

We love the lake!

Relaxation at its best!
Our Captain! ❤️

Gardening

Sweet man engraved this for the garden!

With so many activities and friends and family visiting, our gardens got put on the back burner. I have spent the last few days weeding and deadheading all the flower beds. I do enjoy being out in the gardens. It brings calmness to me. The satisfaction of the gardens becoming tidy and seeing the beauty of the flowers… makes my heart sing! -Even though sweet man had to take six big bags of garden waste to the curb for the garbage men.

What’s Blooming?

The Purple Coneflowers are still blooming.
Asters have begun!
Blanket flower has been blooming for months. Bees love it!
Zinnias!
More zinnias!
❤️❤️❤️
Marigolds
Another bouquet! Coneflowers, yellow tansy and tiny white daisies.

More Lakeside Houses

Sunrise!

The tree is hugging the sun!

I had a great few days to get caught up with the house and gardens. Now I will try to get caught up with all of you.

Thank You!

As I always try to convey… we certainly appreciate all of you. Thank you for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

We wish all of you a wonderful week ahead. Enjoy what this upcoming week brings to you. And whatever you have planned… make every day count and be thankful for your Blessings.

  1. Glad you’re back, Nancy! The lake is gorgeous, and your Captain looks very attentive to his job! I love being in my gardens too. It is so terribly dry here though. Those lake cottages are delightful!

  2. Beautiful homes and flowers, and I know how much you all enjoy life at the lake. Who wouldn’t? 🙂 We live next to a college town which I traveled through about a week or so ago. Some of the students were back, and the number of electric scooters running in both directions on both sides of the road was unbelievable. I try to avoid driving through their downtown during the school year if at all possible. 🙂 Have a great week as we head into fall.

    1. No electric scooters here. It’s a small college. But Move-In days are the days to avoid town.
Thanks for the visit. Always good to hear from you!

  3. Your last throes of summer in Nancy’s Garden and on the Captain’s lake sure provide a treasure of fantastic photos, Nance. Have a fantastic week, my friend.

  4. so pretty Nancy and all your plaid is beautiful…even the little soldier. I have lots of these plaid thermos’ and baskets too and I love displaying them in the Fall. We have been having lots of rain…everyday and I keep being thankful, but would like a bit of moderation….but as is most things, it is either feast or famine. LOL Your lake is lovely and what a wonderful time with family and friends. Love all your flowers. How nice to have available bouquets just ready for picking. Hugs and Blessings

    1. I purposely planted English Gardens full of cutting flowers so that we could have bouquets throughout the summer.
Thank you so much for the visit. Hope the rain slows down for you.

  5. Happy Tuesday Nancy, so glad you’ve been having summer fun with family! The photos from boating on the lake are so refreshing, we are having such high temps! Your garden is thriving, it must be wonderful to have flowers right at your finger tips for bouquets! Whenever I see your pretty Tartan plaid things, they remind me of my mom who used to have some that were very similar. I’m noticing the days are getting shorter now, summer is definitely winding down…

    1. I can feel the seasonal transition happening here.

When you live in a Scottish town, you have to have lots of tartan plaid!
      Thanks for the visit!

  6. Good morning, Nancy. I read your post earlier, but the temperature was rising quickly and I ran out the door to get my walk in before it gets brutally hot. But I am back inside drinking ice cold water. The tartan plaid collection is so pretty. And those lake views are stunning as are the lake homes. Nancy’s Garden is brimming with the colorful blooms of asters, coneflowers, zinnias, marigolds, and the fiery blanket flower!

I always enjoy my visits with you. Happy Tuesday!

  7. Your summer days look wonderful, Nancy! All those flowers look lovely. I always loved when classes were back in session, especially during my university teaching days. Such a good energy. Keep enjoying the lake life. We’re dealing with local wildfires and almost hazardous air. We’re safe and it is raining today. How long will you stay there?

    1. Oh, I am so sorry to hear about the very close wildfires for you. I pray the rain helps put them out!
So you know how we love when the students come back. It’s such a tremendous energy, just like you mentioned.
We are going to stay and enjoy the changing colors of autumn.
Thanks so much for stopping in. Have a wonderful week!

  8. Happy Tuesday/Wednesday Miss Nancy. I don’t think there’s anything not to love about your lakeside lifestyle 🥰 such gorgeous photos and all those flowers 💜💜💜

  11. Oh my, I love zinnias! Your garden is a dazzler! And such fun to see the terrific photos of your family, all having a glorious time. It sounds like a perfect week! But the wildfires are a little scary and i hope you will be safe.

  12. Nancy, all of your blooms are so beautiful! The bouquet you assembled is so pretty! The bright yellow yarrow is so happy! I love plaid and your tartan vignette makes my heart sing. Wishing you a wonderful week, sweet friend!
