Tuesday Tidbits #318 Spring Cleaning, Nesting or Both?

🌼 Happy April! 🌼

Do You Spring Clean?

Welcome to our family room with some cheerful yellow added.

Since we live in two different homes on either side of the Mississippi River, I tend to do my cleaning when we arrive at our house for the season. However, I do like to “nest.” I tend to tidy up often, clean a bit, putter, make small changes, and decorate for the season. One evening, we came home from being out, and I sat down and told sweet man how much I love our homes and the cozy feel I get whenever we are “home again.”

Nesting”

The spring additions of cheerful yellow infuse warmth and a sense of comfort.

I have added yellow in the kitchen and even more on the patio.

🌼💛🌼

Outdoor Nesting?

I enjoy spending time in our garden— it’s my happy place! Can I say that trimming, puttering around, weeding, planting new flowers, and even rearranging the plant containers are other forms of nesting, too? There’s something so satisfying about making our garden a little slice of paradise.

🥰

Spring Cleaning

I do clean but because of our special living situation I Spring clean at different times of the year. However, I was Spring Cleaning the area where our bikes are stored and the bikes got a good cleaning too. Since my bike was spiffy looking I took her out for a spin. Here are the beautiful Spring Sights I saw.

Spring Neighborhood Views

The trees are getting their Spring Green on.

Some Ocotillos are greening up and are blooming.

Many cacti are starting to show off with spring flowers.

Cactus blooms!

Take a Walk in the Park Day

I parked my bike and I took a lovely stroll around our Town Center, which happens to be a beautiful park. I was reminded by Terri of Second Wind Leisure that it was “Take a Walk in a Park Day,” and I couldn’t have chosen a better way to celebrate it! It was delightful!

Waterfalls at our town center.

We are very lucky to have such a beautiful area in the center of our town.

Thank You

I hope you’re finding ways to make your home and gardens warm and inviting! I wish you a wonderful time with your April Spring Cleaning or Nesting. Enjoy the season, and get out and view the Spring views in your neighborhood or park.

  1. Your place is absolutely beautiful, Nancy. It is easy to see the love and thankfulness you pour into your life. I wish you’d put a pic of you and your bike. I have a grand older bike (a beach comber, I think it’s called). With only one speed one cannot go far or fast. It’s turquoise, with white wall tires! Such fun! Happy Tuesday, Nancy. Thank you for brightening my early morning day. ❤️ (I’m looking forward to receiving your dad’s newsletter!)

    1. Oh Mitzy you are so sweet!
      Life is Good!
And your bike sounds so fun!
Most of my Dad’s Tidbits are in Pennsylvania. I have one here that I can copy and send you. Stay tuned.
Thanks for all the love! 🥰

  2. I do some spring cleaning, but since we downsized a few years back, I have basic things I keep out all the time. I am always amazed at your seasonal decorations and wonder what type of storage system you have because I just know everything is put away neat and orderly. 🙂 Your garden is beautiful, and your park is quite lovely. A happy person like yourself finds joy and beauty wherever you are.

    1. I am organized. But you should see my junk drawer! 😁
Thank you, Judy, for your sweet comments. They made my morning!

  3. Nancy, I love your beautiful spring in the desert! What a fun bike ride and walk in the park. Your garden is so beautiful and peaceful looking. Did you know that you and I have been blogging friends for over 10 years?

    1. Wow! That’s awesome! I remember your RV trips. They were so fun and informative!
Thanks for all the love and kind words through the years. ☺️

  4. What beauty you’ve created around your home! Love it! I’d also love to go for spin on my bike…but I’ll wait because it’s snowing outside, ugh! :o)

  5. Your home looks cozy and beautiful, Nancy! Spring cleaning is necessary once that sunshine illuminates the messy dark corners 😁 at least at my house! Your yellow decor is cheery and bright. I just added my Easter decor after making an unplanned stop at Hobby Lobby! 🙄
Thanks for linking up to Sunday Stills. Your bike ride sounds wonderful and I’m a bit jealous of that park anf falls centrally located in your town. I’ll have to visit it next time we’re in AZ. The desert looks lovely with the spring flowers and growth!

    1. Oh Hobby Lobby! So many cute things at that store!
I thank you for hosting Sunday Stills. I knew you would enjoy seeing the Falls. Next time you are in you must come for a visit.
      Happy April!

  6. Nancy I would love to say I do lots of Spring Cleaning each year, but the fact is I used to do a deep dive into cleaning but since my illness, I am limited on just what I can do…so we usually hire 2 cleaning ladies who come and do that now. I do keep things picked up and wiped down…at least in the bathrooms (there are 4) kitchen (it is large) and living room/2 dining rooms (they are all one large space).

Our bedroom is my sanctuary. It is a very large room with king size hospital type beds, night stands, bookcase, Tall TV cabinet, bed bench and exercise bike area. Plus a rather large sitting area with two overstuffed chairs and table in between. I make a point to make my bed (sometimes the Captain helps or makes it himself) and altho it is definitely cozy and my safe place, I have to be careful of my ‘stuff” if you know what I mean. It has become my office even though I have a perfectly fine office down the hall. I do remember my days of keeping things organized but I don’t find that as important as it once was.

I LOVE yellow and your flowers really brighten your spaces. So pretty. Both of your homes are such a beautiful reflection of you.

I am thankful for each day as I look at the beauty God has created….here in Florida and all over the Earth. I know you are appreciative of both your home locations and the opposite beauties each has to offer.

Have a great and Blessed day my friend. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🐰🐏🐣

  7. I like to tidy. I like to nest. I like it neat. But cleaning — real cleaning — isn’t my strong suit. Don’t look too closely at the baseboards or the spots where dust bunnies can accumulate! But if you look at the overall, not so bad! I love your pops of yellow and it looks like you are clearly welcoming spring in your world. Those waterfalls are especially lovely.

  8. I love your use of pops of yellow–so cheery! I have always been attracted to the beauty of water in its many forms. The water features in your town center are inspiring.

    1. Thank you. Believe it or not. When we moved here there was nothing in the back yard.
I appreciate your kind words. Happy April!

  9. Lovely spring cleaning! The flowering cactuses and your garden full of beautiful plants that is just wonderful! I too tend to do some extra cleaning with every passing season, out with the old, in with the new.

  10. Your home looks so cheery, Nancy, and your garden area is so beautiful! I was amazed at all the beauty on your bike ride…so many gorgeous flowers, and the waterfalls! You are blessed!

  11. I am a week behind commenting but better late than never. Hopefully I’ll get my post up for this week tomorrow or tuesday. WOW…love your spaces…the waterfall in the town center is so pretty. Everything looks so peaceful and inviting

    1. Thank you so much, Kirstin! It’s our little piece of Paradise!
Thanks so much for taking the time to spread kindness. 😊

Thank You So Much... for sharing your kind words. I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to share your thoughts.
