Tuesday Tidbits #325 Back at the Lake

It Must Be Summertime!

Well, not just yet. I’m all cozy in my sweatshirt and sweatpants. Even the furnace is on. While the misty rain falls, I still get outside to weed the gardens. You guessed it. We have arrived at the Lake House. It’s Sum-Sum-Summertime!

This rainbow appeared on our second evening here.

On our first morning, a beautiful sunrise welcomed us from the kitchen window.

As we settle into our summer home, it’s time to dive back into the joys of gardening, mowing, and reconnecting with all the little details that make this place special. However, all these seem to happen simultaneously, causing both of us to be quite busy. So much needs to get done. It’s also why I weed in the rain—cause I got to get her done.

These Forget Me Nots grow among the weeds. My mother planted them more than 50 years ago.

We chuckled when we found these blossoms on the kitchen counter the other day.

These blossoms must have fallen off my sweatshirt. 🩵 ☺️

Once the gardens are weeded, I will plant zinnia seeds. I want to have a cutting garden again.

I hope to have small bouquets on the kitchen windowsill. They bring me overwhelming joy!

Big News

I get to see our grandson this weekend. I will be watching him for an overnight! I am really looking forward to seeing him.

The other big news is that I have unpacked my suitcase. I am very proud of myself! I dislike unpacking.

Columbines

These are the first of the flowers that are blooming in our gardens. They are always a pretty sight.

Rhododendrons

The Rhodies are being stubborn and slow to open.

Thank You

Busy is our middle name! We haven’t been here a week yet, but we have accomplished a lot.

I am wishing for the summer slow done to happen soon. Hmmm, we’ll see.

I know that I am behind, but I’m doing my best to catch up with all of you. Thanks for being patient with me.

As I always try to convey… we sure do appreciate all of you. Thank you for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

We are wishing all of you a wonderful week ahead. Enjoy what this upcoming week brings to you. And whatever you have planned… make every day count and be thankful for your Blessings.

  1. Nancy, I admire your incredible energy keeping two homes and gardens that are so very different. It sounds like you and Sweet Man have hit the ground running. It is a joy to see what your mother planted 50 years ago still thriving. I look forward to all of your posts from your summer home, my friend!

  2. Beautiful photos Nancy! I know you must be happy to be back lakeside and have a change of scenery and climate. Adorable Forget-Me-Nots, appropriately named as a reminder of your mother! Enjoy your back to lake life. ♥

    1. Thank you Mary! We are happy to be back. Today I am off to buy annuals for the patio.

  4. i just love it when you go to the lake house and if you’re there it means that summer is — if not here yet — very close indeed! I can’t wait to see more!

  5. Beautiful photos. Especially the rainbow. Summer is sure taking it’s time getting to this part of the country. I’m hoping it gets warmer soon. Even though gardening may be more pleasant in the cooler weather I’d love to get my feet in the pond or even my whole body. 🙂

  6. Nancy. It’s always a pleasure to see when you have switched homes. I know you love both homes for very different reasons. Lakeside is always fun and I am like you I don’t like to unpack so I try to get it over with all at once. Thank you for sharing your photos And have a great and wonderful summer. Blessings, dear friend

  7. Oh Nancy, that sunrise photo is truly amazing and glorious! It sounds like you really have accomplished a lot. Those forget-me-knots planted by your mother are the sweetest. Best of all will be being with your baby grandson. Enjoy every kiss and cuddle!

  8. Ooohh, everything is so green and lush. We’re getting rain at home too, and I’m itching to see our flowers. You have such a lovely garden to tend. Enjoy your grandson and your sum-sum- summertime. Its going to HOT here this weekend, but by the middle of next week, we’ll be in Montana for 2 days. Take care my friend!

  9. Aren’t the little bouquets the best? I’m with you! Love your pics, as always, and it sure is sweatshirt weather, here, too! 🥰

  10. Oh Nancy, you have so many pretty blooms! The sunrise you captured from your kitchen window is breathtaking. The rainbow is so pretty! You are so blessed to have two beautiful places to live. Enjoy spending time with that sweet grandbaby! Have a wonderful weekend, sweet friend!

  11. Your flowers are always so lovely, Nancy. The forget-me-nots are such a perfect color. And the sunrise picture – I’m so jealous! Well, maybe not about weeding in the rain. How do you keep up your AZ yard when you’re gone? You need a nice CA home so you can come see us in the spring. 🙂 xxxx

    1. We have people for our AZ yard. 🙂
I sure do miss you Marsha. I hope you are doing well.
Thanks for all the love, dear friend!

      1. That’s good. Your yard is so beautiful. I’d hate for you to come back a back yard of dry weeds! I miss you, too, my friend. You never know. We might get back that way when we get tired of fog next winter. 🙂 xxx
